A Fluffy New Friend

WangJi was happy. How could he not be when the best husband he could ask for gifted him with a white rabbit. Rabbits were his favorite and he liked them. Now he had one of his own.

Of course, he wouldn't be a responsible pet owner if he didn't show his pet around the train so it could be used to the accommodations... and the fact that their home moved even though most of the time it wasn't too noticeable.

But he could easily be found around on arrival day with the rabbit safely tucked in his arms, still clearly visible so it could look around and see and greet others.

Prior to mealtime, WangJi could be found in the dining car sitting at one of the tables, letting the rabbit stretch its legs for a few minutes and look around. Yes, the rabbit was on the table, but he wasn't letting it out of arms reach just in case. Luckily, it seemed more content to just sit for the moment.

Where the rabbit was most happy was in the garden car. It had the chance to run around a bit in there and as long as it stayed away from the plants other passengers were growing, WangJi let it explore and walk on its own though he was not far away to make sure it didn't get anything it shouldn't.

"You're not in the way at all, I was just interested in the rabbit so if anything I'm in the way."

"Then neither of us are in each other's way."

Little Rabbit sat up slightly on his hind legs to sniff before settling back down on the table.

[alchemists]

"Do you have any treats I can give the rabbit?"

She could easily find something in the kitchen but just feeding random veggies wouldn't be the best idea.

[achickenformylove]

"I do."

He had been saving some of them in his qiankun pouch. Out of sight for the rabbit, but within easy reach. He retrieved the bag and pulled out a small bunch of parsley he had taken from the kitchen. He offered it to her.

"Here."

The rabbit sat up curiously.

Elfnein took the parsley and slowly moved it towards the rabbit so it wouldn't get spooked or try to grab it out of her hand.

"Here you go little rabbit."

[achickenformylove]

WangJi smiled as Little Rabbit moved to start nibbling on the parsley. As he chewed, there was a faint clucking sound periodically.

"He is happy with the food."

[alchemists]

"Thank you so much for letting me give them a treat."

Elfnein is just gushing over how cute the rabbit is at this point, it's just so cute.

"You're welcome. He enjoys it."

Which was what that clucking sound meant. Happy bunny. WangJi had heard it enough to know the basics of rabbit language.

But once the parsley is gone, Little Rabbit is investigating her fingers like 'there must be more here.'

"He can have more if you would like to give him more." And he was ready to offer up more parsley.

"Are you sure it's ok to feed him so much?"

She really didn't want to overfeed the rabbit since that wasn't healthy.

[achickenformylove]

"It is. Rabbits eat a fair amount of fresh vegetables. Vegetables and grass."

It just meant that he didn't get some parsley later.

[alchemists]

"In that case I will gladly give him another treat."

[achickenformylove]

WangJi smiled faintly and handed her the other bunch of parsley. Little Rabbit was very happy seeing another snack coming his way, sitting up partially on his hind legs, waiting for his food to be offered.

[alchemists]

So cute, Elfnein gave them another bunch of the parsley and gave them a pat on the head. This experience was just making her want a pet here even though it would be a bit hard given the space constraints.

"I wonder if anyone who knows how to cook could make them other type of treats."

[achickenformylove]

Little Rabbit happily munched his parsley, making his faint happy rabbit sounds as he did. As such, he was more than willing to sit for another pet on the head.

"I suppose there might be a way to make something for them. We do not have treats for our rabbits back home other than different types of vegetables and the occasional fruit that they rarely get."

[alchemists]

"What if you make the vegetables and fruits into more of a baked cookie type? That sort of thing can be made for dogs and cats."

[achickenformylove]

"Hmm... I have not tried to make something like that before. I suppose there might be a way to make a treat with the primary vegetables and a bit of fruit that a rabbit likes to eat."

He watched Little Rabbit exploring the table again, sitting up on his hind legs possibly hearing someone in the hall, but when no one entered, he lowered back down again.

Happy bunny.

"It'll be fun to try out different combinations, I'd be willing to write everything down if you give it a try"

Elfnein just wants to make the bunny happy.

"I would appreciate that. I will have to see the best way to try and make something for him."

He wanted to make Little Rabbit happy too. He loved rabbits so much, but this is the first one on a train in space.
