Just along for the ride (June catchall)
Who: Lea and anyone
Where: Various locations around the train
When: Anytime in the second half of Fiddlesticks
What: Lea finally getting a chance to properly settle into train life after a kind of crazy first couple weeks
Warnings: Probably none. Will update if needed.
Chore Time
A Voidtrecker's work was never done. Though compared to fighting monsters for days on end, cleaning was a snap. Thus he wasn't too bothered by working cleanup in the kitchen, or even helping clean the bathrooms. It proved to be a bit of a juggling act though, especially for the latter, trying to find a time when no one was using them to clean properly. Ah well, he could work with it. Probably.
Movie Time
Lea had finally found a time when the cinema car wasn't in use by anyone else and was scrolling through the various selections available. He half considered calling up a few episodes of Merry Little Voidtrain, but he'd likely want to watch it from the beginning, an that would be difficult to do consistently. Maybe later.
He also considered Lone Star, an action-comedy movie about space-faring rogue. The plot centered around him and his adventures after agreeing to transport a particularly valuable gemstone to a buyer on a distant planet. But there were more than a few other people who wanted it for themselves, and not just for the monetary value. And all along he had to deal with the gemstone's beautiful and sharp-tongued protector, who some of those they encountered also seemed to be after. It looked like it might be a fun way to spend a couple of hours.
But then he spotted something that drove that straight from his mind. "No way...", he said, stunned. He hastily read the description, wanting to make sure it was the real deal, and not a different film with the same title. But no, it was the real thing. A broad, goofy grin spread across his face. They actually had Prismatic Guardians: The Movie. This place was looking better all the time.
Chill Time
Lea sat in the Standard Coach, journal notebook open on his lap and pen in hand, apparently deep in thought. Anyone who looked over his shoulder at the journal page he was working on would see that it contained a list of various items:
Wild Card

Lea sat in the Standard Coach, journal notebook open on his lap and pen in hand, apparently deep in thought. Anyone who looked over his shoulder at the journal page he was working on would see that it contained a list of various items:
Sea-salt ice cream
Potions
Gummi phone
Black Coat?
Other clothes?
Books?
Wild Card
(OOC: Want to do something else with Lea? Go for it!)

"If you're going for the ice cream option, we do have a 'Meal for Four' section of the shop. We've ordered DIY ice cream that way before, too."
Thank Romeo and Charlotte for that!
no subject
"Could it just be a box of ice cream bars? Or like, a six pack of potions? Because if not, that's gonna get expensive really fast..."
no subject
'Should' being the operative word...
no subject
"Any non-ice cream related ideas? I'm not gonna spend all my points at once, but I do want to have some solid ideas."
no subject
"I crossed out the ones I've managed to get so far, or that we had already. As for miscellaneous items, though - ways to cover up the SCAs could be useful on missions."
In addition to being something Yuffie would appreciate, if they came in black.
"Anything you use for healing or defense that you don't have on you also works. Communication devices that aren't part of the train's network are something we've been working on for a while, too."
For security reasons, if nothing else.
no subject
"Well the gummiphone would help the communication thing, though I'm not sure if it'd be able to connect to gadgets from other worlds. But aside from not accidentally blinding ourselves, why would we want to cover up the SCAs? I thought they were important."
no subject
"And I don't know if they'd willingly share it with us in the first place..."
She really regretted not having time - not to mention being too wiped! - to check out that one planet with a void ministry.
The matter of the SCAs, fortunately, was a lot simpler to explain.
"They're real bright colors. Kind of backwards for when we're working on a planet that doesn't have knowledge of the void, and it doesn't help if we're trying to seem mundane on a world otherwise."
no subject
He glanced down at his own SCA and shrugged. "I dunno. I'd just call it a new toy or a new kind of digital watch if anyone asked. I mean that's basically what it looks like."
He then grinned. "Who knows? We could even start a new fashion trend." He held up his arm to display it and put on a TV commercial announcer voice. "The hottest new thing in wrist-wear! Come on down and get yours today! No munny down and no kidnapping by voidtrain required!""
no subject
O Irony.
Nita snickered at Lea's last idea. "Yeah, wristbands themselves are easier to explain. The hoodie train decals are a bit more conspicuous, even."
no subject
"Honestly they're less conspicuous than some of the outfits back home. For some reason, fashion back home seems to like tons of zippers on stuff. Even where zippers make no sense, like on hats. Though that seems to have toned down a bit recently. The train was at least nice enough give us comfortable, practical stuff, even if some of it's a bit hard on the eyes."
no subject
"Though do you mean zippers as in pockets, or just zippers for zippers sake?"
Would zipper even seem like a word by the end of this conversation? Only time would tell.
no subject
"The strangest thing though? It's not something I really noticed until I got to other worlds where that wasn't the case. It was just like... I don't know, white noise, except visually instead of with sound? It just kinda became part of the background."
Think we should wrap this one?
She thought of the Crossings, and what it was like when the proportion of humanoids therein got larger than expected.
"We can get used to pretty much anything, if we stick through it long enough."
Yep, just another tag or two should do.
"Anyway, it looks like it's almost lunch time. Wanna grab something to eat with me? I can work on this some more later."
no subject
"Y'know what? Sure, that sounds good. You had anything in mind, or are we just raiding the fridge?"
And one more of them heading off to get food should do it. :3
\o/ Here!
A slow day on the Voidtrecker Express? Perhaps - but even sandwiches had their place.
