Let's Have a Party!

It was three days after the incident with the train and right at two weeks since they'd been allowed to get off this train and roam a new world. Sure somewhere in there, they'd had a brief reprieve involving a new platform and mess of newcomers, but that had hardly counted as a break from the train. So, the point was, they needed a chance to blow off some steam. What better way than organize a party and roll out the last of his ale to share?

He'd recruited Sarai and Maglor to play their harps and/ or sing for music; Ignis, Ash and Evie to make hors d'oeuvres, Dread and Peter to bring in some chairs; and rigged a lamp and some cloth to make a disco ball-like display in the room (which he made Peter to promise not to touch).

Now he just had to get the guests on the dance floor... to harp music? He misses 'regular' music. Sigh.

She isn't likely to be singing--but hey, her claws were made for playing the harp, if you ask her! She has Failnaught in its harp configuration, settled on her lap--and when Maglor starts playing that upbeat tempo, she chuckles to herself and starts a descant that plays a delicate air above his base melody. And it's playful, as she intends, of course! But if it makes people want to get up and onto their feet--that's entirely a-purpose.

He'll do the singing then! He'll raise his voice once they've worked out the beat and wind words that most won't understand anyway but will be inspired to get to their feet and dance, to shake the train with their energy.

He can handle the power of suggestion quite well, thank you very much!

Meanwhile, she'll beckon her moose of a husband over to make certain that Maglor, at the very least, is kept in drinks--likely it's tea, mostly, since they're expected to play. And play sober, at least, so Sarai thinks. And Dread, as Tony has already found, is plenty willing to be helpful and deliver tidbits and drinks.

Sarai is definitely delighted to be challenged--she'd never presume to say she's nearly so skilled, but it's clear that she's having a good time, even if she's not out on the floor dancing with people. Maybe at the next party they'll have some sort of other music to be provided. She'd never complain about performing--never!!--but she does enjoy dancing. Likely she'd even drag Maglor out on the floor, too--if he'd accept!

Hopefully the peals of delighted laughter she can't hold in don't prove too disruptive to the harpsong and his singing...
