Who: Tidus & You! (Open!)
Where: Kitchen car, around, where pets can be petted (or bite him)
When: Grasshopper 16 onwards (can include a few days before)
What: Tidus has a 'bet' that's less of a bet now and more 'see what doing chores consistently does for your points', but also just generally around the train too!
Warnings: should be nothing!

Tidus has an objective, first coming from a bet of 'who can get the most points!' to 'okay, but do you get anything out of doing chores than the sense of self-satisfaction of helping out the community (pffft, boriiing)'? That's what Tidus wants to do, and suuure, he really has no reason to think that chores gives you anything when he hasn't...been the best at them, but.

That's not stopping his little inner nag from wanting him to find out, and what better way to run experiments with a friendly face? Perhaps an unsuspecting one, when he comes to a Purple-clothed team and starts, with a bright and familiar face on him.

"Heyyy. You free?"

2. cleaning:

( a. kitchen ) Or maybe he's already recruited your character, they were already there to do chores, or they just happen to be in the kitchen at the time, which great! Tidus is easy with conversation, piping up with a "Hey!" to anyone that comes into the kitchen, and for those he's already with, ask, "You meet anyone interesting on the platform?", "You order anything in?", "So, what'd you think about that last mission?"

Despite this, he is trying to do as much he can think of to do: Put the plates and cutlery through the dishwashers, set them aside to be put away again; mopping the floor (and even saying to those he's partnered with beforehand, 'I'll do the floor', like it's his personal mission). And he's fine with clearing up some of the trays and bowls by hand in the sink, but he's...rather awkward about it. Minding how deep his left hand goes in, his SCA still strapped around his wrist, and doing what he can to make sure it doesn't hit the water. And maybe even looking around and seeing if there's anything he can put around it. Can he tuck kitchen roll around it...? ...he does try...

3. around

Otherwise, Tidus can be found around normally on the train. He's often trying out the sports in the gynasium, from badminton, tennis, to volleyball, and if your character happens to like to join there too, he won't be afraid to ask, "Hey, mind if I join in?"; he's on the lookout to see who's into sports, or who might be checking out the room with interest.

He also takes part in the training gym, whether in one of the group sessions or taking time in it setting up obstacles with the balancing beams, ropes, and so forth. The floor is lava and you need to run across the beams, jumping onto the climbing set and swing across the next lot! He's a monkey with too much energy. Or maybe your character is already up to something in there?

Tidus does know how to do chill however. Find him in the cinema car watching what's already playing or some dumb comedy, or even in the music car to see what tunes are available for his SCA. There's a also a chance of finding him on the upper quiet car floor, the doors closed and...he's sitting cross-legged on the floor between the couches, his eyes closed and head slightly hanging. What. Knock on the door, or leave him be?

Also, maybe he'll be checking out a random pet wandering around. Heyy there little guuuyy how friendly are you? Insert your pal [here].

( ooc: Tidus will easily approach others so if you want to set up a thread where he'd need to be the one to say hi, go for it! above is some areas where he'd be to do such or even for your character to do it first. o7 )

He puts the hand that isn't holding the bucket on his hip, sternly. "You don't just leave a job half done mister Tidus! That's just making other people do your work for you and that's not good teamwork!"

And Tidus is usually so good at teamwork!

You wouldn't think a little guy could make Tidus look so pitiful but here we are, Tidus's shoulders slumping and his body losing height. Dejected. He is so dejected right now.

"Romeoo," --is he really whining to a kid? yes--, "you get to pick a chore! You don't have to do both. Right? That's too much work for two people. That kitchen was big! It's two kitchens!" Look at the fingers he's holding up. Two-! "Can't one of the sixty hundred other Purples do it?"

Oh no! Had he made mister Tidus sad? He looked so sad, maybe he was tired? Grown ups did get tireder much quicker than kids after all.

And the kitchen was indeed two kitchens...

"It's okay mister Tidus." His arm drops and he gives him a gentle smile. "You can go and rest if you want. I can do the bathrooms for you. You don't got to if you are too tired."

Nooooo, he can't do that to Romeo! Even if he tries to convince himself to, a forefinger held up for a fight he's...losing...losing...

"Nooooooooo," he groans, the defeating sound of resignation in that drawl. Uggghhhh. "I'll....we'll do it together."

Have you heard someone sound so reluctant. Why. Why is this happening to him...!

"Did I ever tell you I was a star athlete?"

No reason for him bringing it up, no like he was a STAR and STARS didn't clean bathrooms what did he do to deserve this mumblegrumble...........

He beams. That was better! Teamwork made everything better!

He led the way into the bathroom. "Is a star athlete like a celebrity, mister Tidus?"

Because he knows a celebrity and he knows exactly what she would say if he asked her to help him clean a bathroom!

But he hadn't known Tidus was a star!

"Yeah, exactly! Do celebrities clean bathrooms where you're from?"

Still not trying to say anything here, nope not him! Tidus followed him into the bathroom, but now stands... trying not to approach anything. But oh, oh!

"How about I clean the basins? Gotta have a clean sink if you're gonna have clean hands!"

Yeah, let him get on with that and take one of the sponges and the liquid cleaner to do that with!

"Well... No." He shook his head, "But all the celebrities I knew before are gods and gods don't clean bathrooms either! Unless they are a god of bathroom cleaning, but I don't know if there are any of them, I never met one!"

He grinned and nodded, "That's a good idea! Can't have clean hands if the sink is all dirty!"

"What're the gods supposed to be like that you know?" Or, well, heard of? Since he's never met any. "I didn't hear a lot about gods 'til I came here."

Though, Fandaniel said that Yu Yevon would have counted as one, but he's not going to give that guy any more added titles. Or talk or think about him if he doesn't have to. Now, let him pretend those toilets behind him don't exist...

"I guess they are just a lot like people. At least all the ones I know are! But the old gods were a bit different..." He thought for a moment, "Have you met Elfnein? She's little with blonde hair and she likes reading a lot! She's my god! And mister Zetta? The really grumpy book. He's a god too!"

It's fine Tidus, Romeo's got this toilet cleaning thing down. For an eleven year old child he sure knows his way around a scrubbing brush and works diligently.

Tidus might feel a liiitttleeee bad leaving the toilets to Romeo. ...but look at him go! He's a trooper! leave tidus alone he's a weenie!

"You've got your own god here? So she's the one who gives you your powers, right? Like you told me before?"

Which he might not remember the exact uses for, but he remembers something about being a shield and comforting, maybe...

"I do!" He nodded, "You should meet her, she's nice and really smart! I bet she will want to help everyone too and she always has good ideas about things so you two could think of lots of ways to help!"

He will help too obviously, but he's not as smart! "She does, because I have the name she gave me, that's why I can do shinki spells and borderlines and when she calls my name I can be a weasel, which helps keep peoples spirits up!"

Still scrubbing!

"Well sure, why don't you introduce us sometime?" Does Tidus know how well he's really cleaning these tap handles? No, but it's got to be decent enough! They shouldn't make them so fussy to clean. At least it's all looking soapy, and there's the sound of running water as he lets some pool to keep his sponge wet.

"So, she named you Romeo? That wasn't the name you had before?"

Before he died--but also, didn't Romeo say he didn't remember anything before that? So it made sense.

Lots of soap must mean it's super clean! That's mostly how it works...

"Oh. No. I think I was called Romeo before! When I woke up in the heavens I couldn't remember anything, but I knew my name was Romeo! She gave me the name ringoki though, that's my shinki name."

He focused on scrubbing for a moment.

It's got soapbuds on it! It's gotta be clean! The taps look shiny when he washes them down, so hey! ...too bad there's five more basins--and we can't forget the lower portion of them either--buuut that means he can keep ignoring the toilets...!

"Ringoki? That's a funny name." Rude, Tidus. "Soo, if she called for you, would you know?"

It's fine Tidus, let the small child continue cleaning the toilets, he doesn't seem to mind. He is cheery as he works and talks.

"Well ki just makes it mean vessel I think, so it's just apple with ki on the end!" A little bit funny, but he likes apples so he doesn't mind it. He nods. "Yes when she calls my name I turn into a weasel!"

Apples? Ki?....Tidus doesn't get any of that and you know what, he's not going to ask for clarification. Let's just move onto the next sink!

"A weasel... did I ever ask you what a weasel is?" Because if he did, he forgot.

"You don't got weasels where you are from?" He blinked at him. That was so strange.

"It's small and got a tail. What are the animals like where you come from?"

Uhhh, oh boy.

"Well, I grew up around the sea, so I know a lot of sea animals," he explains, hoping that'll make some sense. "We didn't have any land around, so I didn't see a bunch of land animals 'til a while ago. Like chocobos! You got chocobos?"

Tidus has paused from his cleaning duties, looking back to...where he thinks is the stall with Romeo inside.

"No. What's a chocobo? I never heard of that animal before!"

He grins, learning completely new things is something he is used to, even if it happens less nowadays than it used to. He knows so many things now! Yet there is always so much more to learn.

[blitzcheer]

"Big yellow birds that don't fly! You can get on their backs and ride them--they run around on two legs, so they go fast!"

Chocobos are really the go-to animal for anything he talks about, isn't it? Maybe he should ask about other ones sometime.

"Do you know Prompto? Blond hair, energetic guy?"

"No." He shook his head, "I don't think I met him before. Does he have a chocobo?"

He hasn't seen anything that looked like that. A big yellow bird that didn't fly... He thought he would notice one of those on the train!

[blitzcheer]

"He's got a device called a camera with pictures on them with chocobos!" Tidus explains. "I'll have to get him to show you, or you can look him up on the roster and watch out for him. He's a friendly guy--and he likes to talk about chocobos a lot!"

There's some humour at that end, remembering how Inigo acted about Prompto and his fondness for chocobos. But he can't imagine someone like Prompto minding a kid bugging him.

"He might have some other pictures too!"

"I'll look for him! I can ask him to show me the pictures and then I'll know what a chocobo is for sure!"

He grinned, "That would be so fun! I like looking at pictures and he might have some of his world! It's always fun to see other worlds!"
