1. aid // for purple team CR:
- Tidus has an objective, first coming from a bet of 'who can get the most points!' to 'okay, but do you get anything out of doing chores than the sense of self-satisfaction of helping out the community (pffft, boriiing)'? That's what Tidus wants to do, and suuure, he really has no reason to think that chores gives you anything when he hasn't...been the best at them, but.
That's not stopping his little inner nag from wanting him to find out, and what better way to run experiments with a friendly face? Perhaps an unsuspecting one, when he comes to a Purple-clothed team and starts, with a bright and familiar face on him.
"Heyyy. You free?"
2. cleaning:
- ( a. kitchen ) Or maybe he's already recruited your character, they were already there to do chores, or they just happen to be in the kitchen at the time, which great! Tidus is easy with conversation, piping up with a "Hey!" to anyone that comes into the kitchen, and for those he's already with, ask, "You meet anyone interesting on the platform?", "You order anything in?", "So, what'd you think about that last mission?"
Despite this, he is trying to do as much he can think of to do: Put the plates and cutlery through the dishwashers, set them aside to be put away again; mopping the floor (and even saying to those he's partnered with beforehand, 'I'll do the floor', like it's his personal mission). And he's fine with clearing up some of the trays and bowls by hand in the sink, but he's...rather awkward about it. Minding how deep his left hand goes in, his SCA still strapped around his wrist, and doing what he can to make sure it doesn't hit the water. And maybe even looking around and seeing if there's anything he can put around it. Can he tuck kitchen roll around it...? ...he does try...
( b. bathrooms ) lol no he won't and YOU CAN'T MAKE HIM.
3. around
- Otherwise, Tidus can be found around normally on the train. He's often trying out the sports in the gynasium, from badminton, tennis, to volleyball, and if your character happens to like to join there too, he won't be afraid to ask, "Hey, mind if I join in?"; he's on the lookout to see who's into sports, or who might be checking out the room with interest.
He also takes part in the training gym, whether in one of the group sessions or taking time in it setting up obstacles with the balancing beams, ropes, and so forth. The floor is lava and you need to run across the beams, jumping onto the climbing set and swing across the next lot! He's a monkey with too much energy. Or maybe your character is already up to something in there?
Tidus does know how to do chill however. Find him in the cinema car watching what's already playing or some dumb comedy, or even in the music car to see what tunes are available for his SCA. There's a also a chance of finding him on the upper quiet car floor, the doors closed and...he's sitting cross-legged on the floor between the couches, his eyes closed and head slightly hanging. What. Knock on the door, or leave him be?
Also, maybe he'll be checking out a random pet wandering around. Heyy there little guuuyy how friendly are you? Insert your pal [here].
( ooc: Tidus will easily approach others so if you want to set up a thread where he'd need to be the one to say hi, go for it! above is some areas where he'd be to do such or even for your character to do it first. o7 )
( for sakura )
It's either later in the day of the platform stop or the next when Tidus finally finds the young-looking older woman, bright-eyed when he spots her and hurrying on over. The closer to the kitchen car, the better--and if it's in the kitchen? Well, great!
He has nothing on him but himself, the standard train clothes on and looking the same as he always does. But isn't that enough to make someone's day??

Sorry about getting clobbered by work.
it's ok! <3
( for roland & later inigo )
It takes a while for Tidus to find everything he ordered, his name helping him to know what's his next to everyone else's, and that's about it. He shifts everything into one place, that place changing when he finds he's blocking where people can walk, some of the boxes and suitcases okay to stack on top of one another. A duffle bag and a large first aid kit sitting aside that, and a few paper brown bags, and a crate filled with straw and a certain plant.
...
He just stares at it all for a good while, amazed at everything he ordered, groaning at a few of them (seriously? it gave him more train clothes?) before deciding his next course of action was an easy one: to wait.
Wait watching the doors and who else would be coming, who else he knew had ordered things, as well as another guy he'd asked to come and help him carry his orders once they were done with their giant stuffed toys. So that's why when Roland comes into the luggage car, he'll hear soon enough--
"Hey! Roland! Here!"
It'll also be his luck that Tidus even found whatever he ordered too, though don't worry, he didn't peek at anything!
But please mind everything else that is piled there, pal.
tidus, you need to go on Hoarders
"Well, fancy meeting you here." He flashes him a smile and just before he takes another step closer, his foot meets the hard edge of...something. He glances down and immediately, he's greeted with parcel after parcel and box after box of items all labeled with Tidus in clear writing. He cringes at the sight, arms crossed against his chest.
"I guess in retrospect, what else should we have expected when one person orders a stash of supplies fit for multiple units...?"
he doesn't have a problem!!!

2! Because I need to get Webmind more CR.
He was just passing through, but taking notice of how Tidus is treating his SCA he can't help but voice a suggestion:
"Perhaps we could double-layer gloves, for you? I believe proper scrubbing gloves are supposed to cover past one's wrist."
sup robot friend B)
"Yeah, they're okay 'til you get water in them, then they're just annoying to wear," he explains, wiggling his fingers with it. And he knows deep down getting these paper towels wet isn't going to be much better, but.
"--What mission number was that for you anyway? How long you been here?"
He goes for a topic change--or a return to the previous topic even--just to move on from any wristwatch issues.

Cleaning
"But you got to mister Tidus!" Romeo is half way into a bathroom, bucket in gloved hands and looking back at Tidus.
He's technically on laundry duty but had easily agreed to help Tidus with purples chores as well! Especially since Tidus had been working so hard.
Until now anyways.
"It's part of the job Tidus you can't just do half of your chores!"
HOW COULD YOU ROMEO I THOUGHT WE WERE PALS
Why did Romeo have to ask if there was anything else to do? Why did he have to scoff and say 'nah, they want us to do the bathrooms to, but I'm not gonna bother'? He should've known Romeo would- he should have realised the kind of kid he is considering he came and helped him out!
"Let's take a break, leave it to someone else! Come on, we deserve it!"

for Inigo and Gyousou Saku
( He may have pinched a berry when Inigo wasn't looking. )
But what was more important was cooking it, getting it prepared. One look from Inigo was enough to know he wasn't much of a cook (but just in case, Tidus did ask), and while he's tried making ice cream once before, sorbet is new to him, and it's been long enough that he'd rather they have someone else around, just in case.
And who better than Saku? It wasn't as if Taiki would be happier eating without his king, and they'd gone to him to ask for what Taiki liked in the first place.
So it's either on that first night of the platform stop or the second, whichever the other two guys prefer to get cooking, that Tidus has the crate of goods dragged out and set on the side in the lower kitchen car, reading the cards to see what they'll need in kitchen appliances.
"Hmm...should we cook everything now...? Or a smaller portion?"
Tidus can be muttering to himself or speaking to another in the kitchen. Who's around, and who's about to arrive?
no subject
Oh, no, he totally knows they're going to cook. And despite his relatively little experience with it, other than the wild animals he ate back home and the few things Bucky taught him here, he figures it's totally going to be okay. They can figure it out. Isn't that what the cooking books are for? It's not like Tidus invited someone else to help them with this, right? No one is still going to come. Clearly. Obviously. Just two bros cooking in the kitchen. Five feet apart 'cause they're not gay.
Okay, maybe slightly less far apart, since Inigo is very busy nearly hanging over Tidus as he tries to read along.
"Maybe not all of it? We don't want him to feel so overwhelmed about having to eat it all at once, right?"

Quiet Car
He didn't even think to peer in on who might be there before he opened the door, the noise potentially interrupting the occupant.
He took a step inside and blinked at Tidus, like he wasn't expecting there to be someone in the room, because he wasn't. Oops. "Oh."
no subject
"Huh?" A guy? Tidus stares at him curiously, then through the glass doors. "What's up? Something happened? Wait--"
That last part is more mumbled as he lifts his left wrist, a SCA band around it. "Ah-- four more minutes...!"
If Senku looks, he'll see a time ticking smaller, and indeed, around 4 minutes and 32 seconds ticking down.

( for ronan )
But since he he is looking for her owner today, and figures she might be with him at the time (or just expects to see her at least, somewhere near him), Tidus has got a small bag of friendly popped popcorn with him, wondering if she'll take it--"Here, I got you something today. He didn't already feed you, did he?"--and also wondering if Ronan might be nearby, or even...
"Hey, you don't know where I can find Ronan, do you?"
...if she happens to have a Ronan sensor in her she'd be happy to use for him. You know, maybe? You never know around here. Or maybe he'll just have to do this the old fashioned way ad look for the guy himself.
no subject
She knows where Ronan is not because she has a Ronan sensor, but because she's essentially an extension of Ronan. If she has to show the snack-bringer where Ronan is to get popcorn, then that's an easy trick. That's basically the easiest trick she knows. Provided that the snack-bringer understands what she's trying to say, that is.

( for dyme )
But he still has to go through it to get from the sleeper cars to anywhere else, and it's during that when Tidus sees a blond mess of hair while passing through. A blond mess of hair he's been keeping an eye out for a particular reason. So Tidus takes a detour from his plans, steps into the carriage properly from the corridor, poking his head in for maybe...the first time a while.
If he happens to catch Dyme not apparently too engrossed in anything, he won't mind interesting with a "Hey", and then a hand rising in greeting when he's seen. "Not dressed up today?"
But he'll wait otherwise, he can do that, but make it obvious he's waiting if Dyme happens to notice him.
no subject
Still, he looked up when Tidus entered the carriage, smiling. And then reflexively looking down at himself when his clothes were mentioned, as if he'd managed to forget what he was wearing. "Nah. It's still, uh, growing on me." As regal as he'd apparently looked, according to Alice. "Also, hi. What brings you in here?" Tidus had struck him as more sporty than musical.

( for uta )
There's no not interrupting the guy when Tidus spots him in the standard coach, but maybe he was already aware of him, looking up from what he was currently in the process of, and Tidus coming from the end opposite of the dining car. He wears a smile in greeting, at least familiar enough with Uta to know his name and by face. You get used to the guy keeping you fed pretty quickly, after all.
"How you doing? You uh, got a minute?"
Tidus looks to the table, to the drawing utensils out in meaning. Don't mind him interrupting you for longer than a hi there, do you?
shoot sorry i thought i submitted my post a few days ago and was waiting on a response
"I'm well." The drawings are more simple gestures than anything, though sometimes a few features are added. "I think all that any of us has on this train is time." He gathered his things and set them to the side, motioning towards the bench across from him.
"How are you doing? What may I help you with?"

It's a day or so after platform day, and Galo pretty easy to remember with that hair of his. Tidus grins when he spots him enter the kitchen, shifting dirty plates onto dishwasher trays, a set already in and causing the dishwasher to rumble a noisy thrum.
Most of the passengers have finished with breakfast, which means wash up is next--and not everyone who cooks sticks around for the cleaning. And why would they? It's not their chore.
no subject
He'd skipped eating breakfast with everyone else. By the time the call for breakfast went out he was well into his daily exercises. "I can get the counters and wipe down anything else that needs it. ...and uh, I'll clean up anything for making breakfast for myself so don't worry about that."

( for roland )
The cheeky welcome--an accusation, drawled and dismissive--may or may not be expected to Roland when he comes into the kitchen. It's accompanied by the noise of the running dishwasher, thrumming in its contained steel cube; a humidity in the air from the heat that's been expelled from it over uses, the hot water now soaking the pots and pans used to cook with. Washing trays are set out ready, and there's the plates on the side that haven't been washed yet on one side, the plates that have on another, not yet put out of sight.
And one blond--though the dark roots show visibly, a once pure blond getting slowly closer to dirtied with the passing days--already present, a tilted smirk flashed Roland's way, standing at ease with folded arms, except for a quick reach to take out an earpiece from one ear.
no subject
He offers Tidus a smirk back, a side glance with a sparkle of mirth, but he doesn't stop cleaning out the food scraps from the top pile, sliding them into the garbage can next to the sink.
"Don't know what you're talking about! Last I checked, I'm part of the Purple cleaning crew too."

It's very clearly lilting away from her, as it reaches its peak - but as it comes down, Glimmer disappears in a flash of sparkles, reappearing in the ball's path with her hands over her head, so she can catch and spring it into the air again, and repeat the whole process all over the court. She doesn't seem to initially notice Tidus, until her hand slips and the ball goes spinning in his direction. "Ah- watch out!"
1/2
But then in a blink--a blink with sparkles of all things--he witnesses the girl pop where the ball's going, not actually noticing her disappear to begin with. And it's that sight that gets him to pause in thought, a small "huh?" escaping him, distracting him when--

( for taiki )
But it's concern that outweighs any of that, while knowing--and glad--that he's recovering. Tidus waits on word from Saku when Taiki's strong enough for visitors, then goes to visit; any hesitance over the fact that he helped to make Taiki that way smothered by a greater need to see him. The reminder that it can't be helped now.
Tidus knocks on his cabin door, an awkward attempt to be light but also to be heard (what if Taiki's asleep?--but what if he isn't), and then a call to follow it.
"Taiki? ...It's Tidus. Can I come in?"
no subject
But for now he is sat on the bench near the window, Lord Gyousou's bed has been folded up for the day. He is leaning against the window, Gyōkō's cage open as he fed the little jerboa sheds of carrot.
The knock took him by surprise but the voice was very welcome. He has missed Tidus and feels very guilty for how they last parted. He had tried so hard not to worry the other man and yet had managed to do so nonetheless, making things worse as usual.
"Yes." He calls softly, to let Tidus know he is on his way. Because despite the smallness of the room it takes him a moment to make his way over on shaking legs to open the door.
He presses the button to release the door and smiled brightly to see Tidus.
"Tidus!" He's still very pale, looking exhausted more than anything else but the happiness in his voice is genuine.

Here's a Tidus, Inigo, whatever it is he's finally found you, and maybe you're even lucky enough to get a pat on the shoulder if he's coming up from the side and behind, just to get the other guy's attention. This little venture--and maybe other times too, when he's thought about the other guy--is really making it stand out to Tidus that he has no idea what the guy does in his spare time.
...will he find out at the start of this thread?!
no subject
Which means that aside from throwing himself at chores, he's still occassionally fumbling to try out new things ever since he's found himself on this train. Like today. He found Gerome reading one of the books from the mini library the other day, and so Inigo is now trying the same.. But he just can't. He can't, man. This is so boring.
It might be why his face lights up when he feels Tidus' hands on his shoulder. Tidus, you are his angel right now. Give him some entertainment. Save him from these books, please.
"Ah.. Tidus! I didn't eat this morning," or whatever goes for a 'morning' out here in the void, but sshh.. "I actually wasn't all that hungry." His smile might be widening just slightly-- "You mean you missed me?"

( for roland and allen )
When it came to most people, finding them was a guessing game. There were a few places they'd be, but you could never be sure. Setting anything up was a hassle--when to meet someone, around when. But when it came to Allen? Sure, the guy was trying out new hobbies and things to do, but Tidus was pretty sure he spent most of his time in the training gym regardless. And hey, more power to him. If that's what he liked, who was Tidus to judge? Playing professional blitzball had him working out fairly regularly too, back in the day. But not Roland's day.
So when Tidus comes in, sees the familiar white-haired guy--with or without Timcanpy present--he turns quickly with a grin and a cock of his head at him, saying to another joining him in the room, "Told you," before stepping more inside.
He'll wait if he has to, if he sees Allen in the middle of anything seemingly needing his attention. Otherwiiise-
"Yo, Allen! Can you spare five?"
suuup.
tagging order is tidus -> roland -> allen!
"Lucky guess, or good intuition? Heh." He offers his teen companion, as he trailed a few steps behind. After Tidus's greeting, he offers his own salutations with a firm nod and a smile. "Hey, Allen. I see you're keeping sharp. Form's looking good." Having fought side by side with him during the Terran mission, he's all too aware that he's definitely not someone to trifle with.

backdated to end of july mission
But when Taiki has slipped into an easier, deeper sleep, he takes the opportunity to go and find the second person he feels responsible for.
He doesn't need Taiki to be awake to tell him that he handled the interaction badly; that he put Tidus on the defensive, or scared him. He's had that feedback before, and Tidus isn't his subordinate. It's worse, somehow, to have had that effect on a peer. He can't simply assign him away from his direct service. He has to make amends.
So he goes from carriage to carriage, checking with people as he passes if they've seen him, noting the emotions running high, until he's in the kitchen and being directed back the other way to the quiet coach. Must have missed him, he thinks, and grabs some food and a mug of juice before he heads off.
He'd rap on the door to alert him, but his hands are full. Instead, he nudges the door open with an elbow, and clears his throat.
"My apologies for disturbing you, Tidus..." but he wants to talk, and Tidus is cornered, and he should eat something. His demeanour is less aggressive, now, worn away by concern and no longer being trapped near-alone on the Express. Like a fire banked, rather than raging.
no subject
Suffice to say, the quiet booths were a cosy and inviting sight.
In his half-dozed state, Tidus hears a voice like a dream. Like a person passing through the standard car, enough to catch his attention but not be immediately important; the figure joining him assumed to be someone just needing somewhere to sit through bleary eyes. It makes sense to a brain at half power, Tidus propping himself up by his arms and mumbling, "No, it's okay"; only then the gloss of his vision clearing, the presence becoming better defined. And Tidus realises that it's Saku, remembers that it's the quiet booth they're in--and wait, Saku was with Taiki yesterday, and Taiki was ill...
He takes his legs off the seating, feet possibly kicking Saku accidentally, a "Sorry" given if so. Pushes himself to sit better upright, pressing the palm of his hand into an eye to wipe away the sleep as he asks with a heavy-sleep voice, "Is Taiki okay?"

[ Somewhere on the train, Tidus discovered the recent voting options. Somewhere in the car, everyone was subjected to his voice, loud, incredulous and fuming all in one. He may have shook the terminal when he saw it. He may told the train to shove it via shouting it at the terminal screen. He may have had the decency not to shout expletives with other people in the car, but he sure as heck did kick the wall of the train on his way out.
So yes, he did all of these things. And now he was in a mood, searching for a release.
He spots Inigo first before anyone or anything else. And like a zombie- ]
Iniiigooooo.
[ He's shuffling for him. ]

Is this a comedic thing? Should he go along with it? Or is Tidus genuinely distressed over something and just chosing to express it this way?
Inigo is opting for the latter just in case, and so doesn't move out of the way at all while mister blitzball zombie over here is getting closer. Instead there's some faint concern in his eyes. ]
Tidus? You look like you've seen a ghost. Or like Roland's told you to solve some math problems.

( for taiki )
Tidus had hardly forgotten their discussion during the mini-vacation, and he'd met Taiki in the standard car for them to put out a post asking for help (and plus, to keep each other company during it). Except a thought had occurred to him later on, and so before they got to it, he wanted to run a test.
A test that might get them a few useless books, but hey. Couldn't hurt, right? They weren't that expensive.

( for light and roland )
It's the same day of the Purple mixer, once it was good and truly over, and both Roland and Glor seemed receptive to the idea of talking with the other Team Leads. But there were two leads in particular Tidus wanted to get in the same room, a few subjects he wanted to bring up, and what better time while he had one of them around, and the other easy to find over the ICP comms? hiii lightniiing
So they meet, wherever's the closest for Light, her room or somewhere near to the music car. Unless she's going to make them go all the way farther down the train, then fiiiiiiiiine. Tidus will only grumble a little.
As long as she's ready for one Tidus and a young-looking old guy, Tidus as chipper as always when he sees her. "Yo! Light!"

Which, she supposes, does make her easy to get a hold of. But that's not the point. She looks between the two men, arms folding over her chest and expression growing wary as she realises she's been set up for some kind of meeting.
"Party over already?"
