1. aid // for purple team CR:
- Tidus has an objective, first coming from a bet of 'who can get the most points!' to 'okay, but do you get anything out of doing chores than the sense of self-satisfaction of helping out the community (pffft, boriiing)'? That's what Tidus wants to do, and suuure, he really has no reason to think that chores gives you anything when he hasn't...been the best at them, but.
That's not stopping his little inner nag from wanting him to find out, and what better way to run experiments with a friendly face? Perhaps an unsuspecting one, when he comes to a Purple-clothed team and starts, with a bright and familiar face on him.
"Heyyy. You free?"
2. cleaning:
- ( a. kitchen ) Or maybe he's already recruited your character, they were already there to do chores, or they just happen to be in the kitchen at the time, which great! Tidus is easy with conversation, piping up with a "Hey!" to anyone that comes into the kitchen, and for those he's already with, ask, "You meet anyone interesting on the platform?", "You order anything in?", "So, what'd you think about that last mission?"
Despite this, he is trying to do as much he can think of to do: Put the plates and cutlery through the dishwashers, set them aside to be put away again; mopping the floor (and even saying to those he's partnered with beforehand, 'I'll do the floor', like it's his personal mission). And he's fine with clearing up some of the trays and bowls by hand in the sink, but he's...rather awkward about it. Minding how deep his left hand goes in, his SCA still strapped around his wrist, and doing what he can to make sure it doesn't hit the water. And maybe even looking around and seeing if there's anything he can put around it. Can he tuck kitchen roll around it...? ...he does try...
( b. bathrooms ) lol no he won't and YOU CAN'T MAKE HIM.
3. around
- Otherwise, Tidus can be found around normally on the train. He's often trying out the sports in the gynasium, from badminton, tennis, to volleyball, and if your character happens to like to join there too, he won't be afraid to ask, "Hey, mind if I join in?"; he's on the lookout to see who's into sports, or who might be checking out the room with interest.
He also takes part in the training gym, whether in one of the group sessions or taking time in it setting up obstacles with the balancing beams, ropes, and so forth. The floor is lava and you need to run across the beams, jumping onto the climbing set and swing across the next lot! He's a monkey with too much energy. Or maybe your character is already up to something in there?
Tidus does know how to do chill however. Find him in the cinema car watching what's already playing or some dumb comedy, or even in the music car to see what tunes are available for his SCA. There's a also a chance of finding him on the upper quiet car floor, the doors closed and...he's sitting cross-legged on the floor between the couches, his eyes closed and head slightly hanging. What. Knock on the door, or leave him be?
Also, maybe he'll be checking out a random pet wandering around. Heyy there little guuuyy how friendly are you? Insert your pal [here].

But that part about the void gets Tidus's interest more. Distracts him the uses of his own profession, if not entirely when he adds to that use, "I do have help moving around quicker too. But--you know how voids work?"
Because the concept of most things outta space was entirely one big blank of understanding for Tidus, personally.

He turns off the stove and shifts the pan to a cool burner. “And we’re taken by this train from our worlds. Heard we can get some of our stuff back from points. So that’s more taking stuff from our worlds.” He folds his toast loads it with the scrambled eggs and bacon then looks at Tidus. “So the rest can’t come from nothing, either. Right?”
Galo takes a bite of his breakfast and closes his eyes with a pleased noise. “Could be faster ways to id what we get from just a general ask for something. Maybe.” He shrugs and takes another bite. “Not important just. Something to think about.”
no subject
"So you mean, figuring out where it comes from? Sure, it's gotta come from somewhere. I did wonder though... first time I tried getting something, I got something rare. And twenty-five of them. I'd only seen two in my life! You couldn't buy them anywhere, that's for sure. Not where I came from."
Not in Spira anyway. Tidus take a step aside of the machine, grabbing its handle and lifting it open some, rolling out some of the steam than all at once.
no subject
It really does have to come from somewhere and while he doesn’t worry about the bigger picture...knowing what kind of supplies they can buy is important. He leans against the counter by the stoves and finishes off his food. Galo shifts a bit more to dodge steam.
“I’ll wash that pan in a second.” He says. “Then we can go look at that bag.”
no subject
He's moved while saying that, voice loud so he can be heard over the sliding trays, and as he picks up another from under the counter by the dishwasher. Sitting it over the sink, and then pointing to it.
"Just stick it and your plate on this, we'll leave them to wash when we go. Someone else can come up and put them away."
no subject
It sounds like one of those. He picks up the tray. "I just load this in?" He asks as he visibly considers something. "I'm going to think over how to word my request when I do it. Extinguishing gel comes in small or large barrels. Depending on how we're using it. Maybe x points worth in small barrels? Just to keep from getting too damn much."
no subject
Against all other potions or even magic, there wasn't anything as fast acting or a effective.
"You wanna just get a few first? There's a cheaper option for 25. You said it's for testing something?" Those gels?
no subject
The low rumble of the machine coming to life brings a smile to his face again. He nods as he turns his head to look at Tidus. "...glad we got those potions then!" Then his smile shifts, lighting up his eyes in a softer warm light. "Stuff like that...can save a lot of people. Always cool when new techniques come out that can do that."
It lasts a few more seconds then he laughs and says, "So anyway, we're good to go right? I really want to see what's in that kit!"
no subject
So he'll walk first to lead, but not with any particular speed or rush. It'll take them a while regardless to get to the bottom coaches. It's nice anyway just to get out of the kitchens, even just the upper floor; the heat disintegrating with space, the fresher--or more subdued--smells after all of the breakfast food and cooking being left behind.
"Hey, you said you met Roland, right? Black hair pulled back? What did he tell you about?"
no subject
He nods to himself. That’s right. But Roland has also told him a few worrying things. Galo frowns, “There was talk about the points and some testing it. And someone wants clocks on the train. But the big concerning part is Void sickness. I’ve read what I could about it since but...There wasn’t much.”
It was so vague that he has his eye on it. Memory loss is no joke even temporary loss.
no subject
"We got a report about it last month. I don't know why--I think something happened before I showed up, and people got sick? But it was pretty late for it to come up. Actually," now that he remembers, "it was just after the translators went down. We got a report from some Void Ministry, and--that mentioned it. I think."
Was that the reason? It always confused Tidus, the way it was phrased ("You have questions"). He can't remember that report right now though to be sure.
"Nita might be good to ask about that. She's on the council, her name's that on the roster too." There's a pause, and then a grim pull of her mouth. "Well...maybe after a week. She's not in a good mood right now--had a falling out with some friends."
Which is...close to the truth.
"But she knows a lot. I'd trust her to have answers."
no subject
"So, Roland mentioned people got sick on the train a bit back." He says and frowns, his brows coming down. "A report long after the event is weird. Travel lag?" It would make sense but, he doesn't want to rule anything out.
Not yet.
"Anything else this Void Ministry ever said? Just curious."
no subject
By the Void Ministry. Probably by anyone else that's out there.
"I'd say the only reason it bothered telling us anything about the sickness was 'cause of that report. I didn't hear people talking about it 'til then. Then some people started worrying they were sick."
They're coming up to the luggage car from the dressing one, Tidus pressing the door for the button. It slides open.
no subject
"This already sounds on par with what we're dealing with at home." He shakes his head and waits until Tidus steps through the door to follow him. "Okay, keep an eye out for anything they manage to get through. Got it."
What else can they do. He shrugs it off. Bag first. Everything else will be solved somehow. "Now let's see this bag!"
no subject
But there is a purple duffle bag beside the lot, different from the other bags. Tidus moves that aside, saying as he opens one of the trunks.
"We think the train is alive." --To what Galo asked, commented on before. "There's something else here anyway. People can feel it in the engine car--or beyond the store room. People with magic who can do that kind of thing. It listens, but you don't really get an answer. I haven't."
And there the green bag is, pulled out from the trunk. He holds it to pass it over to Galo, nods at it after.
"We can get more if it's any good. But if you know anything we can get that'll have whatever you think we need--just tell anyone. There's a list in the standard car. You can get it added easy."
no subject
He opens it with practiced ease. Galo checks over the contents carefully, putting them right back where they belong once he confirms what each compartment has. He leans back once he closes it all back up and nods to himself. "It's a civilian first aid kit but, a good one! Covers a lot of important stuff. Looks water-proof too."
He nods and his eyes spark. "Definitely get more of these! I like how it looks super easy to carry on the move." He lifts it up and offers it back. "The whistle is a nice touch."
no subject
"Great! At least when the stuff's used, we can keep the bags." Doesn't sound like a bad idea. "We can keep it back here for now, but if you wanna take it on a mission, go ahead. I won't know the best way to use it 'til you show me, and me and Light both have magic."
Which makes him think after a pause. "Oh, what's your world like with magic? You know about potions? Elixirs?"
no subject
He opens his eyes and jerks his thumb towards the pack. "All the stuff we do is by hand and tech related. I wish we had potions! That would be super helpful when we're stabilizing people for transport to the hospital. As it is all of us on the team keep another set of medical equipment on our bikes just in case! Captain's car probably has it in the trunk or back seat. Never asked but he never has us do anything he won't do himself. Anyway,"
Galo nods and his grin is back like the sun coming back out. "Yeah, alright. If I take it on a mission I'll let you know so you can observe. And I'll replace what I use! Sound good?"
no subject
"Sounds fine with me! But if you can't get the points, just let us know. No one knows how people get 'em--you can be great in a mission, and you barely get any."
It was bothersome, annoyed Tidus for how hard some people worked, got little to show for it. But all he can do is sigh for now, move on.
"You can take some of the potions and elixirs when the time comes. Here, let me show you now." Since they're here, so why not? He goes through the different trunks, and he pulls out...what look like energy cans, a bottle, and then a 150ml bottle jar.
"These are the potions," he pushes the energy drink can forward. "Made from fizzy drinks, but they're actual potions now. You can drink them, or pour over the wound. Goes the same for any of them. They're better for smaller wounds that don't go too deep--cuts and bruises. These ones-"
Next comes the bottle not as bulky as the can. "These are potions made by Al Bhed. Gashes, broken bones--they're for your more hurt people. They can do something else too." He snaps his fingers, thinking. "Poison, I think? I'll ask Yuna later to check."
He should have already, but oh well. Next comes the 150ml jar.
"This is an elixir," he explains. "You give someone this? They won't even know they were hurting. It works quick too. It won't regrow limbs, but it'll patch you up close enough!"
no subject
"So the middle one would be triage cases. It puts them back to rights so they don't even need further healing, yeah?" He asks as he leans forward to study the bottle a little closer. Al Bhed isn't a name he recognizes but that's not surprising. "Al Bhed...your world?" He leans back and crosses his arms over his chest, eyes falling on the jar.
It has dire emergency written all over it in his mind. Galo finally nods, "Okay, I got a solid idea of these now. Are these all single dose or is there several uses in one can, bottle, or jar?"
no subject
He can only assume so.
"Al Bhed potions are... good. You might still feel a lil' exhausted--depends how you're doing in the first place? I don't know what triage means," admittedly, "but uh, I'd go."
A hand on the cans. "Small wounds." A hand on the Al Bhed potions. "Moderate, middling--large cuts, open wounds." A hand on the elixirs. "Anything."
Except the regrowing limbs, of course. "If you use it all yourself. You could split the elixir I guess, if you were in that position. It might take more time for the wounds to heal-- I never tested it before, you know?" he throws Galo a sheepish smile. He knew what was good, what worked, but actual specifics was guesswork.
"But yeah, the Al Bhed are from my world. They're a people! Good with technology, fun. They make them."
no subject
And Tidus didn’t say that a bone needed reset before the potion was applied. He nods once and holds up a finger before letting it fall. “Since the other two don’t really need to think. Minor is minor. Elixirs on the dire end. The fact you got that sort of idea in your head. You’ll be easier to train! Half the battle is getting the right mindset!”
He flashes a smile then subsides. But the spark of joy hasn’t left his eyes. He likes Tidus so far. “Thanks again for showing me this. I’ll definitely prod you to talk about Al Bhed sometime! Any other stuff we got here?”
no subject
"Sure, do, I'll tell you what I know!" And then, back to the suply- "We have ethers here too, but that's for magical healing. Keeps you going with your spells, that thing. Here, I'll show you the bottle so you know."
And he's already searching for that--geez, it's good they have most of these in not-too heavy trunks. And the ethers were light in the first place, a small trunk that he shifts out, opens it up to tiny 250ml bottles.
"These ones." He holds it up to show, but Galo can take it if he likes. "If a magic user gets exhausted, these'll keep them going. Just for a while longer anyway. Like a boost."
no subject
Galo offers the little bottle back as he says, "Okay. Just for reference how many magic users do we got over all? If you don't know, that's fine. I think I'll default to having at least one of these on hand just in case."
He nods once again and leans back to internally count how many ethers they have. More single use items if he's guessing right. "Same deal on the dose?" They're small enough he could imagine one in a first aid kit just in case.Galo grins again, his usual cheery mood even brighter for a moment. This is good! He's super happy to see it and his eyes are bright with his joy. "You guys have a solid toolkit for field medicine here! Between more of that kit and these we'll have a lot of bases covered. Good work!"
no subject
"Thanks! We can always do with more, but it's better than nothing." And really, fifty minimum of everything wasn't a bad deal. "As for magic users, uh... I couldn't give you a total, but the healers we had last time-" Who? Tidus closes his eyes, hums a little.
"Me, Light, Reno, Yuna, Ferdaniel... maybe some others? That's just healers anyway," he states again. "There's more magic users. Like... I dunno. Some people have funny powers that aren't the same? Like one girl does markings to make magic. Or people have spirit...stuff."
Tidus waves a hand a little. Would any of this be any use for them?
