Just a quiet moment reading
Who: Nerdanel and whoever!
Where: Library & Garden
When: Various times between platform and next stop
What: Mama Elf is available for chats, hugs, and lullabies but technically she's working. She doesn't mind interruptions!
Warnings: n/a
Garden
As she so often is, Nerdanel can be found sitting in the garden, singing softly as she works on her sculptures. The first is now finished, standing no more than two hands tall, Maedhros looks up out of stone, almost as if he might speak at any moment. She works now on the second, but will not mind company.
Library
The library is new, and therefore interesting, and Nerdanel can be found at intervals browsing through the shelves curiously, flipping through books. Alternatively, she can also be found sketching - a bas relief is taking shape under her pencil - one of the train, by the looks of things. Feel free to interrupt her for a chat!

She smiles wryly. "Agreed. I was considering using my points to bolster the healers, but perhaps they might be better suited to be placed here..."
no subject
"Though neither is short on volunteers, so far as I can tell. I think you're free to choose as you like, for the moment."
After a moment she hesitates, then points out a book on a nearby shelf: a work of fiction, entitled The Princess Bride.
"I rather enjoyed that one. Though I think the satire must make more sense to someone from-" oh, what was the book's country of origin? Florin?- "-its native world."
no subject
She looks at it. "The Princess Bride? And a satire you say... Perhaps I will try it! I wonder how different some traditions are, and if I would recognise the pattern of behaviour being parodied."
no subject
Then again, it did give people something to do. Perhaps that was the point.
"I recognized enough of it. Much of the principle story was similar to children's tales told in my world."
The author's interjections were a bit much, in Zelda's opinion, but it might be to someone else's taste.

Nerdanel shrugs, and smiles at the description.
"Ah, then I think I shall enjoy it also."
no subject
"Were you looking for anything in particular, if I may ask?"
no subject
She sighs. "Inspiration, perhaps! I am a little stuck at the moment on one of my works, and I find sometimes that reading sometimes sparks an idea. I can help you look, if you sought something yourself?"
no subject
For a moment, she looks uncomfortable with the admission.
"At home, I learned more lore from music and story than I did from books. For all its strangeness, this is the largest collection I've seen in some time...."
And, of course, a number of the topics of these books were utterly out of her experience.
no subject
"Ah, a scholar!" Nerdanel hums and nods.
"Nothing wrong with that. Although the selection here is rather... eclectic! Most seem to be dealing with the train itself, or simply for entertainment."
no subject
"'Scholar' implies, perhaps, more specialization than I deserve.... I was fortunate in a time of much misfortune, that was all."
Fortunate that there were still Sheikah elders able to pass on their truths, even when the Hylian libraries failed. Fortunate in Impa, in a thousand and one ways.
no subject
"What is it, my dear? Did I say something wrong?"
no subject
There's still something pensive in her face.
"My homeland has had little fortune with the preservation of knowledge in recent years, I'm afraid."
no subject
She murmurs.
"I hope you will have better fortune, in time - tis always sad to loose knowledge."
no subject
she says, hesitating over her response.
"Things shall be as the goddesses will it, I suppose. One can ask for no more than that."
no subject
"I hope that things will go well for you, one way or another."
