Garden

As she so often is, Nerdanel can be found sitting in the garden, singing softly as she works on her sculptures. The first is now finished, standing no more than two hands tall, Maedhros looks up out of stone, almost as if he might speak at any moment. She works now on the second, but will not mind company.


Library

The library is new, and therefore interesting, and Nerdanel can be found at intervals browsing through the shelves curiously, flipping through books. Alternatively, she can also be found sketching - a bas relief is taking shape under her pencil - one of the train, by the looks of things. Feel free to interrupt her for a chat!

"Well, originally, there was supposed to be one, but then they built five, which were the ones we were using. But five that were officially Gundams."

It really is a complicated answer so he's trying to keep it as simple as possible since to answer why there were more requires a lot more explanation.

"Oh dear that sounds very complicated!" She shakes her head.

"And if they're all specialised for different things, I imagine there's no one to look at one and see that it is a gundam?"

"The Gundams were a different design from a regular mobile suit. But there two Gundams that specialized in long-range fighting, one medium-range, and two at short-range. Mine was short-range, but it was slower than the other one."

"Covered a multitude of uses then."

She nods. "Although I will say, I am surprised that folk would allow such a machine to be piloted by such young men - were there no one else to do so?"

"They did."

Quatre chuckled slightly. "Desperate times really and we weren't exactly government sanctioned. We all had a scientist we were working with who built our Gundams initially. So I suppose it was partially timing and who we knew that we ended up fighting."

She makes a tsk sound.

"Oh dear... I am glad you were unharmed, in that case! It is a grievous thing that the young ones are forced to take the place of their elders."

[gundamofthedesert]

"We were injured at different points, but none of us died. We all had different reasons. Heero... that's basically all he knew and was trained for. Me, it was chance and I wanted to try and stop the violence in our world."

"Good!" She nods.

"A worthy goal - and one I hope you will see come to fruition."

[gundamofthedesert]

"Luckily, we have. The war recently came to an end and we were able to destory our Gundams once and for all since they are no longer needed."

"Ah! That is good news indeed! I am glad. What will you do now you are free?"

[gundamofthedesert]

"I am running my family's business, putting its money to good use to help better the colonies and improve the lives of the people there."

[marriedanidiot]

"Oh, that's wonderful." She smiles.

"What does your family do?"

[gundamofthedesert]

"We own many mining satellites in space as well as companies on the colonies themselves. We have been one of the families in space the longest so we have been there to grow the colonies with them. I'm current overseeing projects to help rebuild damage that had been done to the colonies."

"Mining, hm?" She smiles. "A good business to help with rebuilding. Are your family smiths and craftsmen as well, or do you mostly work only on supply?"

[gundamofthedesert]

"Mostly on supply, but we do also hire people to craft as well as build. We have always had the money to employ a good number of people and we try to help out as we can."

"I see." She nods. "Interesting! I wish I could visit and see, for it sounds like such a marvellous world. And now that you are at peace, it would be fine for a holiday, I imagine!"

"If I can find a way to show you somehow, I certainly would like to. I'd like to think it would be very nice for a holiday. Especially on Earth. So many beautiful places."

"I would like that." She agrees. "And I would love to show you my home, too. I wonder if there is some way we could arrange to visit? It seems such a pity that we cannot direct the train somewhat..."

I didn't realize how tasty they were

"And I'd love to see yours too. Yeah, it is a pity. Maybe because the train thinks we might just leave if we actually stopped at our home."

Which is probably a fair guess all things considered.

"That much is probably true." She agrees wryly. "Although personally I feel that if the option was given rather than forced, we might actually see a fairly good representation of folk."

[gundamofthedesert]

"That is also true." Quatre sighed. "I know there are a lot of people who would want to help. I think the option to be able to check on one's home to make sure everything is alright would be nice at least."

"Agreed." She sighs, leaning back.

"And there are folk here, I'm sure, who would happily not go home." Like Ple Two. Who she wants to keep, plz and thank you.

"If only we could decide that!"

[gundamofthedesert]

"Yes, I can imagine that there are. Hopefully, those that wish to stay or to go somewhere else will be given that chance."

He wouldn't be one of them. He wanted to go back to his home. But he could certainly understand others wanting to go home.

Nerdanel, too, would return home, to where she has family who will worry, and to wait until her children and husband return to her, so she nods, a wistful smile on her face.

"Yes. Perhaps at the end of our journey... what ever that looks like."

"Yes, I'm sure at some point, we will reach the end of this journey and see where it leads us.

Well, it has been nice speaking with you. I hope we get the chance to talk more later."
