Have the fire extinquisher ready

Who: Xue Yang and OTA
Where: Training carriage
When: For the entire week after the new arrivals
What: Xue Yang has decided to experiment with his new swords and making up some new techniques. Experiments with fire and deadly weapons. Proceed with caution.
Warnings: Xue Yang may accidentally set something on fire.

Scenerio 1: Double blade
Xue Yang is currently seated in the center of the training carriage. Two swords on the ground in front of him, various tools whose soul purpose is for attempting to cut through steel and several pieces of paper that are very clearly talismans.

He picks up one of the swords and studies the hilt and handle, he then places it on the floor alongside the second one but going in the opposite direction. He becomes quite intent with taping the two together with what appears to be some sort of medical tape that he likely stole from the infirmary while no one was looking. Once he is content, he stands up and picks up the swords that are now stuck together to form one very long blade.

He tests the balance of it first and then starts to swing it around with the skill of someone who is very used to using a double ended blade. After a few moves he stops and looks at the connection.

"It's not strong enough with the tape..and also wouldn't be very quick to assemble when needed." Which is a problem when one is used to the sword simply transforming in his hand.

Scenerio 2: Talismans
Xue Yang picks up one of the blades and a talisman, moving a little bit away from the rest so that he doesn't accidentally light his entire set up on fire. He has two ideas to try and make this work and perhaps it won't work at all but he at least has to try.

He takes the talisman and with one swift motion, slides it along the blade as he attempts to transfer the fire onto the steel. The Talisman lights on fire but the blade does not and Xue Yang tosses it away quickly before he can burn himself. Failure one.

Next attempt he writes the talisman design right onto the blade. The fire lights up the sword and when he swings it as he normally would the fire doesn't appear to make things unwieldy, but it also doesn't go any further then the blade. Second attempt is marginally better then the first.

"Decent but not exactly what I'm hoping to achieve." Time to figure out plan three.

"Perhaps it should be." As if Xue Yang can possibly school anyone about love. "You practically talk like you want it to be. Or perhaps he does if he continues to drag you to his bed."

He sputtered a little bit. "No, that's not...it's not like that. There's no sexual contact involved." Senku cleared his throat. "It's platonic it's just..." He glanced away. "A-Anyway. I'm sure he doesn't."

"And you? Do you want it?" Because now Xue Yang is just curious. It's not like sexual contact is anything to be embarrassed about and he certainly isn't shy or afraid to ask.

"No!" He flushed and flailed a little, flustered. "That's...the problem. It doesn't matter if I like him or not." He just wasn't fundamentally interested in much physical contact. If he did, by chance, like Gen, that wouldn't change.

"You simply don't want to have sex?" What is this guy..twelve? Regardless, Xue Yang is rather enjoying the reactions he is getting out of Senku. Messing with people has always been one of his favorite activities and it has been quite awhile since he has been able to get this kind of a reaction.

"How do you know that he doesn't?"

"I'm not interested in it." Senku answered, correcting him. "It's different, but no less inconvenient, or perhaps very convenient, depending on your perception."

He cleared his throat. "Because why would he?"

"Perhaps you would be if you experienced it." Xue Yang rests his hands on the floor behind him as he considers that question.

"Why wouldn't he? You live together, he drags you to bed..perhaps the gifts are also his way to get your attention because he wants to."

"I highly doubt it." He wasn't going to argue with Xue Yang about his lack of interest in sex, it wasn't a secret because people tried to flirt with him a lot more than he liked, but he wasn't going to debate it really.

"I mean..." He looked a little flustered. "Maybe he just does those things, because we live together. We live together because...well at first we were outsiders in the village, but now, I don't know, we're just used to it?" That was a thing right?

"If he did want it and you have no interest in it, what would you do? Is it not cruel to him to continue as you are doing?"

Xue Yang knows much about cruelty and a little about how a heart feels after it has been rejected. Even though in his case, the person also never knew how he felt and in a way..neither had he until it was too late.

He groaned a little bit. "I don't...I don't know. This is why it's just easier not to like anyone."

It was a good philosophy and it served him well, until he met Gen which had completely derailed that.

"I'm pretty sure he's aware, that I'm not interested in sex. It's not that much of a secret." He sighed. "More than zero people have tried to entice me, and he was there, so it's not like..."

"It would be much easier if I didn't like him at all." He admitted. Except that he did, and that was the problem.

"I don't think we have any control who we like or the level of it. If we did I would have chosen to continue hating the daozhang." But instead everything changed and made his life significantly more complicated.

"I'll just have to ask him myself and see what he says." Mostly because now he is curious and isn't afraid to do it and even if Senku does ask, he would still want to know.

"I'm painfully aware of that at this point." Senku groaned. "Please don't ask him. Just...just leave it." He is planning on doing exactly nothing about this problem, except ignoring it and hoping it goes away.

Xue Yang doesn't make any promises. "It's amusing to see you uncomfortable with such a thing."

Senku responded by rolling his eyes. "I'm glad you're finding it amusing."

"I take pleasure in many things that make people uncomfortable." He isn't afraid to admit that his tastes can be a bit different. "But its mostly amusing that someone so interested in experimenting and trying new things is so against sex."

"I'm sure it's fine for people who are interested in that sort of thing, all of the data would suggest that." Senku observed. "I'm not against it as a concept, I just don't have any interest in having it."

"So if not in sex, what about more casual things? Does kissing also fall into the category of things you are not having interest in?" Kissing is far more personal to him then sex is in his opinion but for some that might not be the case or might be all they are comfortable doing.

"I..." He would have said no, categorically, but he sighed. "I'm not opposed to that, I think. It would be fine, if there was someone I wanted to kiss, sure."

He found Xue Yang's interest to be a bit strange, but he supposed it was fair if he didn't really know what Senku was talking about.

He finds that perhaps even more interesting then anything else. So he isn't opposed to intimate connections with people, he simply doesn't want to go too physical.

"Is your feelings on this kind of thing because of the time you lived through?" In a way this is interesting to him because it is such a different thought process then any he has ever encountered before. Sex in his world is hardly something anyone is ashamed to take part in and certainly isn't a conversation worth being embarrassed about. The people he has been around have been quite shameless.

"That's really more of a sociology question which, ugh, soft sciences." Senku complained. "Not my area of interest."

He would however, give some thought to the question. "I don't think so. I think I'm still a statistical anomaly. Based on the observation of my peers, which granted at fifteen and sixteen they were at the height of puberty and this kind of thing was what they focused on, I'm an outlier. It doesn't really bother me, so much." At least, it didn't.

"Typically, probably, times haven't changed that much. People still concerned themselves with who liked who and how to get this person's attention. My best friend is very much like that. I can't possibly hear another story about how great his future girlfriend is, I just can't." He groaned.

"At the moment however, if anyone's engaging in that kind of thing with any level of seriousness I'm not aware of it, but we're kind of running around in survival mode."

"In our world, families created arranged marriages between people who never met to increase the power of their families. Liking someone didn't often come into play. And in some cases the leaders of sects would have multiple families. Love, lust, and the like were hardly anything to be embarrassed or bothered by."

Xue Yang picks up one of his blades and a cloth to start cleaning it to remove any remnants of the talisman. "Perhaps the irritation of your friend's constant praises of her is part of why you have no interest in it yourself."

"The village is kind of like that. I became the chief through winning a bout, if you can believe that, I wasn't supposed to win, but Chrome couldn't get up." He sighed.

"Part of that involved marrying the priestess." Senku hummed. "Which lasted as long as it wasn't inconvenient to me, so less than five minutes." He smirked. "There's nothing more to marriage there than essentially declaring it." It was quite the story, really, but there it was, he was a divorcé on top of other strange things.

"It's more fundamental than that. You look at someone and you can tell if you're attracted to them or not. I'm just not."

"It's probably because you have so many other things on your mind to be distracted by. Feelings simply get in the way." Xue Yang has always seen that feelings were a hindrance. He prefers to keep himself clear of such things so that he can kill whomever he wants to or needs to. But now he is finding that his time in Yi City opened up feelings he wasn't expecting to have nor did he want.

"I can't argue with that, they certainly do and sometimes I wish I could be rid of them, but unfortunately that isn't how humans work, even me." Senku hummed and sighed.

"And you're not wrong, I have a million things going on I have to keep track of, and that's likely an underestimation." Senku snorted softly.

"I don't think it would change if I didn't, but I'll concede I can't possibly know if it would change in the future."

"Things on this train might change a lot about us over time." He knows for himself that this is already true. He hasn't killed anyone in weeks and that is pretty good for him.

"I'll be interested in seeing if this part of you changes if you are here for any length of time." Xue Yang's smirk is a bit more playful, as if challenging Senku to avoid letting the train change him.
