After Echoes [Open]

Who: Kitty and Open
Where: Medical carriage
When: Horseshoe 21-24
What: Kitty takes a few days to recover after the most recent happening on the train
Warnings: Probably nothing, but will update if anything comes up

Kitty wasn't sure when it happened exactly - between seeing Professor Xavier and the others out in the void, all the ghosts of people on the train, and some additional distress crashing over her that wasn't even really hers, there had been a lot going on. In a bit of a panic, she retreated by herself, and the next thing she knew she was being awoken by Inigio, who had to help her to the medical carriage because she'd been barely able to move.

Which is where she would spend the next few days recovering, her body still feeling rather weak no matter how much sleep she'd get. She does regain her strength eventually, though having some visitors come see her would probably help too.

Trunks had apparently weathered the storm's visions better than most, and he was grateful. But it meant he also wanted to check up on others, and pick up slack where he could. Which was part of why he was poking his head in to see if Kitty was awake and welcoming visitors. He also had a tray with him with food and drink on it.

"Feeling okay for a brief visit? Maybe eating?"

Kitty had been reading a little when he walked in, though it was a bit difficult to entirely focus. Though she was feeling a little better than yesterday, she still felt pretty drained.

Still, glancing up from the book, she smiled and placed it aside as she nodded.

"I'm pretty good for both," she replied.

Entering more fully, Trunks offered the tray carefully so he wouldn't spill anything. "I'm glad to hear it. How're you feeling?"

Sitting up a bit, she balanced the tray on her lap. "Thanks," she said, her stomach rumbling a little now that the food was in front of her. "I'm doing okay. Still pretty tired, that's all."

"Do they have any idea what's causing the fatigue?"

She shook her head. "Not really. When all those, uh...visions of the other passengers were around the train, I wandered off to be alone. The next thing I knew, someone was taking me here."

"Ah, being around people actually seemed to be the best way to avoid the phantoms." Trunks offered. "Hopefully though, it was just an effect of the void storm. I'm glad someone found you though."

"Ah. That probably would've been good to know." Didn't really matter now, since she heard that the ghosts were gone now, but she still did feel a bit sheepish.

"Yeah. I should be okay now, after a bit of rest."

"I'm glad to hear that too. Anything else I can do to help? Bring you books or something?"

"Actually, a few more books would be nice, thanks," she admitted. "I'm tired of just sleeping, and I'm almost done with this one." She tapped the cover of the book she'd been reading before.

"What kind do you want? I'll raid the library for you and bring a few back."

She thought for a moment, trying to decide what she felt like reading. "Hmm...maybe grab a couple? One romance, and one mystery?"

"Can you narrow those categories down some more? Historical, noir-detective, or classic, and so on." Because Trunks was willing to bring back a couple for her.

"Um...maybe romantic suspense, or contemporary romance. And maybe some cozy mysteries and paranormal mysteries. If there are any of those in the library, anyway."

[light_of_willpower]

"I'll see what I can find for you, alright? I'll be back in about 30 minutes, maybe an hour." Trunks said with a nod, before moving to go to the Library and start looking for some good books of the descriptions she'd given. He did his best to be choosy, and try and find good and interesting ones, before he's back about 40 minutes later with 3 different titles for Kitty.

Knocking on the door again, before poking his head in.

While he was gone, she worked on eating the food that he'd brought her before placing the tray aside and picking up her book again.

When the knock once again interrupted the silence, she glanced up and smiled, waving him inside.

"Did you find anything?"

"I did, sorry it took a while. I found you 3 that seemed interesting and like what you asked for. Still doing alright?" Trunks grinned, coming and offering the books.
