Who: Kitty and Open
Where: Medical carriage
When: Horseshoe 21-24
What: Kitty takes a few days to recover after the most recent happening on the train
Warnings: Probably nothing, but will update if anything comes up

Kitty wasn't sure when it happened exactly - between seeing Professor Xavier and the others out in the void, all the ghosts of people on the train, and some additional distress crashing over her that wasn't even really hers, there had been a lot going on. In a bit of a panic, she retreated by herself, and the next thing she knew she was being awoken by Inigio, who had to help her to the medical carriage because she'd been barely able to move.

Which is where she would spend the next few days recovering, her body still feeling rather weak no matter how much sleep she'd get. She does regain her strength eventually, though having some visitors come see her would probably help too.

"Yeah that probably wouldn't be the best idea."

Taking a bite of food, she chewed to give herself time to think before swallowing. "Are you okay? Nothing to weird happened to you, did it?"

Nita started to shake her head- then stopped.

"I recognized some of the faces - the 'ghosts' on the train - from the memories we saw on the island."

The ghosts hadn't done anything special, though.

"Really? From all the way back then?"

"Yeah."

Nita shook her head slowly, recalling more.

"So when those former Voidtreckers showed up, it was all former Voidtreckers... or close to it, anyway."

She frowned a little. "Close to it? What do you mean?"

[unfavorableinstigation]

"Well, it's not as if we have a roster for the people here before us..."

She wondered if it'd be too rude to ask the train about that; nevermind.

"And then there were the Voidtreckers that were versions of people currently on the train."

Which was an entirely different sort of headache.

She frowned, a little confused as well. But too tired to try and figure it out, she simply nodded. "It was all just really freaky."

"Yeah."

She shook her head as if to rid it of the subject.

"But, apart from that... how's your month been, Kitty?"

Just because they were roommates didn't mean they knew everything the other did, after all.

She shrugged a little. "Okay for the most part," she said. "Some things were a little tough, but I got through it okay. How about you?"

"About the same," Nita admitted.

"It'd been pretty quiet for a non-mission month, at least until yesterday."

Just wait until Nita got back to their room and realized there was a change in the roster...

"Yeah. Figures something like this would happen, right? Guess it was getting too quiet."

Good enough to wrap hereabouts?

Nita wrinkled her nose.

"Now it just sounds like we're tempting fate..."

Straightening back up, she continued, "But for now, just focus on resting, okay? And finishing what you've got, there," she said in a somewhat lighter tone.

Yeah, I think so!

With a weak laugh, she nodded. "Right." No use thinking about it now. All she could do was get some rest and hope things get a little easier from here.
