it's halloween, lo-ween, everybody!

Where: Various decorated carriages!
When: Horseshoe 31.
What: Della is hosting a Halloween party! Come for treats, tricks, and trouble!
Warnings: N/A, will update it needed.

The room is dark…why aren’t the lights on? But as the doors fully open, a voice begins laughing darkly…

… although if you’ve ever heard the voice of Della Duck, you’ll recognize her immediately.

“Boys and girls of every age, wouldn’t you like to see something strange?”

Suddenly there’s a big THUD as someone drops from the ceiling, the lights flash on, and Della herself, dressed as a zombie – ripped apart clothes, fake blood here and there, drawn on scars - wiggles her fingers before laughing joyfully. “Happy Halloween, everybody! Let’s party!”

Tasty Treats

A big buffet table of candy and punch has been laid out! Mini chocolate bars and multi-colored lollipops, gummy worms and candy corn, all sorts of sweet and sour shenanigans, ghost-shaped cookies and mummy-looking muffins! There’s plenty to eat, with absolutely no healthy alternatives.

There are also small wrapped bags of candy with the letters “T.o.T” written on them. If someone tells you, “Trick or Treat!” you have to share your candy! Or keep it to yourself, you monster.

Haunted House

Thanks to Seto Kaiba’s projections, a neighboring carriage has been converted into a Haunted House! While it’s all a trick on the eyes, it gives the illusion that there are several floors of spookiness. Each floor has a different theme –

#1 Serial Seriousness – Every so often, a masked intruder pops out at you, with long claws or chainsaw, ready to give chase! Be careful, or you’ll be the next victim!

#2 Zombie Zaniness – Moans and groans of the undead can’t be unheard. Rotting arms will try to swipe at you through the floorboards!

#3 Ghostly Games – You can see through them, and they can see you too! Each mirror reflects a different dastardly demon!

#4 Deadly Doctors – In this hospital, it’s not the awful health insurance that’ll kill you! Beware the bloody nurses and their extra big needles!\

#5 Fishy Fears - … Wait, what? … Okay, this last floor was clearly designed by Della. It’s like Under the Sea, but with sharks and octopi and kraken - and Della insists this is the worst floor.

Feel free to have your characters braving the house, or trying to scare people within!

Dance Floor

If being haunted isn’t your thing, nothing wrong with getting your groove on! Ask DJ Della what kind of song you’d like to play, and she’s happy to put on the list, from a classic Monster Mash to something more somber and soulful for you slow-dancing-romantic-vampire-types.

Turnip Carving
… Look, they didn’t have pumpkins. Anyway, you’re encouraged to carve scary and silly faces in these veggies! There is a contest, but everyone will be a winner, from “Most Realistic” to “Most Depressing” !

Movie Mania
Kick back and relax – and be horrified – at the otherworldly horror films! Like the horrific monster mime, “That”, the relentless umpire-mask wearing killer, “Monday the 20th”, and the endless array of the undead, “Midmorning Of The Not Wholly Alive”!

Some of you awful people might be thinking of popping up and scaring the theater-goers and this is /winkwinknudgenudge/ totally not approved. /plausible deniability/

Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark
In one secluded, quiet, and verrry dark carriage, lit only by candles, here you are encouraged to tell the scariest stories you can think of! What eerie legends will you share from your world, or do you dare to make it up as you go along?

Make your own top-level, and happy haunting!

Also, if your character would like to dress up, costumes are available for this night only!

Ah, I suppose? I'm not clear on how the magic works, we'd have to chase someone down and ask them. Then, maybe modify it. And I don't mean completely solid so much as just, some kind of resistance?

Or maybe instead of electricity ... it's felt like friction, or heat? Like it'll change the density of the air itself, maybe.

[ He waves his hand through the hologram again, completely distracted with how it's done instead of how scary it should be. ]

All things considered, dearest, since your good friend Xue Yang can manufacture far flashier effects - why not have a spell as simple as changing the density of air?

[ He thought that was a good question. ]

He was using talismans for fire and it's some kind of magic that's unique to his world, he talked about a golden core and meditation.

[ He seems to be thinking though as he tugs Gen forward into the second area, the one with the moaning and groaning with zombie arms trying to grab them. ]

I'm sure there are spells like that, I mean, there must be. It would be interesting to find out.

It would! I want to find out how they work ... what the limitations are ... and of course, for tricks like this that are pretty safe for people to watch? How to use them for my own acts, of course.

[ This time the jumpscare really didn't work. Gen walked up to the zombie and looked around it, thinking. ]

I'm not sure this zombie is even that realistic. [ Cheerfully! ]

Yeah, these illusions seem pretty safe, and maybe if you could learn this, it would entertain you.

I've watched a great deal of ridiculous zombie movies, my dearest. My favorite ones are those where they look goofy and rubbery, like this one.

[ He grinned and teased him back: ]

Only me? You never find me entertaining, Senku-chan?

[ Gen could read into that what he liked. ]

Well. Unless the they're being used for my purposes. [ His grin turns wicked. ]

[ Giggling some more, because he's sure that'll fluster him. ]

[ His eyes widen, and he blushes, sputtering a bit. ]

That's- No, that's just- I didn't mean it like that!

[ He lets out a breath and then chuckle slightly at himself. Gen totally did that on purpose. ]

Of course, of course. [ Still giggling, but he nudged him a little, he's just teasing. ]

I do kind of wonder how they decided on the themes, in the end. Chainsaw murderers ... zombies ...

And this one is ... [ His eyebrows raised, not sure if he's disappointed ] ... Mirrors?

[ He has to hide his face with his free hand for a moment but then he looks up.

It's really just...mirrors. ]

Maybe someone has eisoptrophobia. [ Senku muses with a bit of a shrug. ]

[ Subtly, not teasing him for it, he stepped a little in front of himl blocking his view. ]

Maybe. Sometimes seeing other people construct something 'scary' reveals more about their fears than other people's.

[ But then he caught sight of a demon in a mirror, instead of his own reflection - it startled him into jumping. ]

[ He didn't particularly like or dislike mirrors, he was merely offering a reason someone might find them scary. He probably wouldn't spend much time looking in one either, after all, people did see what he looked like, didn't they?

Gen jumping a little bit was kind of a nice surprise that caught him off guard with a bit of a snicker. ]

Ah. [ He should say sorry, but that was so not him. He leaned around Gen to look, expecting something out of the ordinary since he jumped. ]

....Interesting.

It's not even that scary looking. [ Gen huffed a bit at his own reaction. ]

[ He gestured, ] I just expected to see my face, not, you know, whatever that's supposed to be.

[ Hmph ]

It appears to be an illusion of a spooky monster, that happened to scare you.

[ Gen knew he was being baited - and it was working. ]

Being surprised isn't the same as being scared, Senku-chan.

Most humans have varying degrees of startle response, it's why a so-called 'cat scare' is such a cheap trick to use in a thriller or horror movie.

[ He is totally being baited, and Senku is glad it's working because teasing Gen to no end is his favourite pastime. ]

Sure, if you want to blame being scared on your physiological startle reaction, you can try it, but I might not believe you~

[ He sing-songed lightly. ]

But you shouldn't be scared of the mirror demon, I'll protect you from fictional threats.

[ But really, Senku, if you're going to go for that line, you won't mind Gen clinging to your arm, would you? Senku got to use the other one. ]

Even a real mirror demon wouldn't be frightening. It's stuck in a mirror - what can it do to you?

[ He doesn't mind the sarcasm and he doesn't look terribly offended, and if Gen wanted more of his arm he didn't mind that so much either if he wanted to cling to him. ]

That is a valid argument as to why you shouldn't fear mirror demons. Unless it can come through the mirror in which case, why is it in the mirror in the first place?

[ Gen was starting to realize there might be something to this scared-people-clinging-to-boyfriends thing. Sure, it was the oldest trick in the book, but not every classic yielded such nice results. He'd keep sticking close and hanging on. ]

We could probably end up writing a whole horror movie around this, if we really wanted to invent an answer to that question.

[ He doesn't mind at all, he remains relaxed as they walk through the haunted house. It's maybe strange, but he's just too skeptical maybe. ]

I'm not much of a fiction writer. Could you imagine? It would read like a technical manual.

[ Senku continued moving them along, giving a tiny tug to Gen's hand so they could go investigate the spooky hospital. ]

I would be doing the writing. You would be the technical advisor, letting me know why some random plot element wouldn't work and why, so I could fix it before production.

[ He let him get tugged along, pretty sure nothing that wasn't just startling him would actually get a reaction from him in this 'haunted carriage'. ]

Ugh, fiction. Well. It better be interesting then if I have to proofread it.

[ He didn't enjoy most fiction, but some of the science fiction was pretty good, and of course, manga that feature scientific robot cats. Those were pretty awesome. ]

It's just that-

[ It's his turn this time, to be startled, by a bloody nurse with a giant needle and then he covered the jolt to his torso with a snort. ]

That needle's way too big to be functional.
