it's halloween, lo-ween, everybody!

Where: Various decorated carriages!
When: Horseshoe 31.
What: Della is hosting a Halloween party! Come for treats, tricks, and trouble!
Warnings: N/A, will update it needed.

The room is dark…why aren’t the lights on? But as the doors fully open, a voice begins laughing darkly…

… although if you’ve ever heard the voice of Della Duck, you’ll recognize her immediately.

“Boys and girls of every age, wouldn’t you like to see something strange?”

Suddenly there’s a big THUD as someone drops from the ceiling, the lights flash on, and Della herself, dressed as a zombie – ripped apart clothes, fake blood here and there, drawn on scars - wiggles her fingers before laughing joyfully. “Happy Halloween, everybody! Let’s party!”

Tasty Treats

A big buffet table of candy and punch has been laid out! Mini chocolate bars and multi-colored lollipops, gummy worms and candy corn, all sorts of sweet and sour shenanigans, ghost-shaped cookies and mummy-looking muffins! There’s plenty to eat, with absolutely no healthy alternatives.

There are also small wrapped bags of candy with the letters “T.o.T” written on them. If someone tells you, “Trick or Treat!” you have to share your candy! Or keep it to yourself, you monster.

Haunted House

Thanks to Seto Kaiba’s projections, a neighboring carriage has been converted into a Haunted House! While it’s all a trick on the eyes, it gives the illusion that there are several floors of spookiness. Each floor has a different theme –

#1 Serial Seriousness – Every so often, a masked intruder pops out at you, with long claws or chainsaw, ready to give chase! Be careful, or you’ll be the next victim!

#2 Zombie Zaniness – Moans and groans of the undead can’t be unheard. Rotting arms will try to swipe at you through the floorboards!

#3 Ghostly Games – You can see through them, and they can see you too! Each mirror reflects a different dastardly demon!

#4 Deadly Doctors – In this hospital, it’s not the awful health insurance that’ll kill you! Beware the bloody nurses and their extra big needles!\

#5 Fishy Fears - … Wait, what? … Okay, this last floor was clearly designed by Della. It’s like Under the Sea, but with sharks and octopi and kraken - and Della insists this is the worst floor.

Feel free to have your characters braving the house, or trying to scare people within!

Dance Floor

If being haunted isn’t your thing, nothing wrong with getting your groove on! Ask DJ Della what kind of song you’d like to play, and she’s happy to put on the list, from a classic Monster Mash to something more somber and soulful for you slow-dancing-romantic-vampire-types.

Turnip Carving
… Look, they didn’t have pumpkins. Anyway, you’re encouraged to carve scary and silly faces in these veggies! There is a contest, but everyone will be a winner, from “Most Realistic” to “Most Depressing” !

Movie Mania
Kick back and relax – and be horrified – at the otherworldly horror films! Like the horrific monster mime, “That”, the relentless umpire-mask wearing killer, “Monday the 20th”, and the endless array of the undead, “Midmorning Of The Not Wholly Alive”!

Some of you awful people might be thinking of popping up and scaring the theater-goers and this is /winkwinknudgenudge/ totally not approved. /plausible deniability/

Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark
In one secluded, quiet, and verrry dark carriage, lit only by candles, here you are encouraged to tell the scariest stories you can think of! What eerie legends will you share from your world, or do you dare to make it up as you go along?

Make your own top-level, and happy haunting!

Also, if your character would like to dress up, costumes are available for this night only!

We can't see each other as much as we might like. But she and our partner have been with us through a lot.

I liked seeing Hawkmon in New York, Ken-chan!

....I liked seeing Miyako-san, too.

[ She had been well. It's remarkable, how she's always well. And how that doesn't seem to be disguising anything. Inoue Miyako is simply indomitable, crashing through life forcing it to keep up with her pace instead of the other way around. She brightens a room just by being in it....

Maybe someday, it'll be the right time for Ken to tell her that. ]

[ Almost out, indeed. Ken nearly has no choice but to feed Wormmon.....another worm.

This time, worms taste like cherries. Wormmon could get used to this. Is that wrong?

Ken, meanwhile, is realizing he hasn't asked Alfredo that much about himself yet, only indulged Alfredo's goodness in asking about him. How can he fix that?

That's definitely what he's doing and not trying not to think about Miyako-san on the train. ]

Have you been here long?

[And the last gummy is: a monkey! An orange monkey, even.

... It's not an insult towards anyone on the train, presumably???

Alfredo shakes his head.]

No; I think it's getting on a month now? I arrived before the last mission. And...

[He pauses before adding this next part, thinking it may be selfish:]

I was lucky, to have someone I knew from home already on the train. And that he recognized me, as well.

Already on the train....

[ That's like Adam and Ronan....

Wormmon is listening, but he is also chewing super slow. This is his last gummy. He must Savor It. ]

He'd been here almost since the beginning, as well; we had an awful lot to catch up on...

[And then there were the things they couldn't catch up on; the memories Romeo still had locked away.

But they'd work around that, somehow. Their friendship was still strong.]

Have you met him yet? His name's Romeo, and he's one of the friendliest people you can meet. And the kindest.

[He's not saying it to brag; if it wasn't for Romeo's kindness, Alfredo would have gone on a very dark path himself.]

[ At the name "Romeo", Wormmon hops with such enthusiasm he nearly wipes himself out on the hem of his hoodie when he lands. ]

We know Romeo! He IS very kind. He helped us make our sign!!

[ Ken had burst into a smile when he'd heard Romeo's name, too, so....yes. They are. Let us say. Familiar with the small gentleman.

Does that mean Romeo-kun is also from Italy....? That would explain his name. ]

[Alfredo at first looks surprised at the mention of a sign - was it for one of the carriages? That does make sense.]

I'm glad, then - he does his best to look out for all of us.

[And he deserves the best in turn, of that Alfredo is certain.]

Don't worry. Protecting Ken-chan comes first, but I'll protect Romeo, too.

[ Should danger ever befall him. Wormmon isn't quite sure how he would learn if that were the case, but if Romeo were in trouble and he saw it, he would leap into action! It would be really impressive!

Ken doesn't want to leave trash for someone else to pick up, so he slips the empty candy packet into the back pants of his.....extremely green...outfit. ]

He must be happy to have a friend like you.

[Alfredo can only give a bemused smile to that.

He does believe Wormmon, however - he hasn't seen these two in action yet! Who knows what surprises are in the future...]

Oh! I can find the wastebasket for that, it's no trouble.

I hope he is - but then, he doesn't exactly hide it when he likes someone.

[If Romeo hid any feelings, it was the negative ones - and it'd be too easy for pot to call kettle on the issue if Alfredo were to bring that up.

But then, that was one thing they could work on together.]

Alfredo's description of Romeo makes Ken chuckle a little, though. He's fine with never being the kind of person Romeo is - he can only be himself - but that doesn't mean he can't appreciate people like Romeo. Or be glad Romeo has people who can return his warmth. ]

He seemed that way.

Is your name Italian, too?

[ Wormmon had been thinking about that. This boy is from Italy. Which means Romeo is from Italy. Which means Romeo is an Italy name!

Does Ken-chan speak Italian? Wormmon bets he does... ]

I can't imagine what else I could have been called.

[He hasn't exactly spent much time thinking on it.]

How did you two get your names?

[While he imagines Ken's answer is similar to his own - 'from his parents' - he's not as sure about Wormmon.]

[ That is a good question. Wormmon flops a sleeve against his mandibles in the hopes that will wipe them after his snack.

When he lowers it, he has his answer. ] I don't know. I've always known what I'm called.

[ He looks up at Ken-chan. ] Why are you Ken-chan, Ken-chan?

....Why, I wonder.

[Alfredo nods, considering.]

I wish more of us could just know things like that...

[Or admit that other people knew them, for that matter.]

I don't know for sure why I was named Alfredo, either... but I like to think that I live up to the name my parents gave me, somehow.

[It was one way to honor them, certainly.]

[ Wormmon has learned many things about the human world, but this is not one of them. ]

It's a fairly common name for Italy, I'd think.

[Though perhaps not as common as Romeo's! Or, say, Georgio...]

It's a good name. [ As is Romeo. Ken smiles reassuringly. There are also a decent number of people with kanji pronounced "Ken" in their names, in Japan. ]
