it's halloween, lo-ween, everybody!

Who: Everyone's Invited!
Where: Various decorated carriages!
When: Horseshoe 31.
What: Della is hosting a Halloween party! Come for treats, tricks, and trouble!
Warnings: N/A, will update it needed.

The room is dark…why aren’t the lights on? But as the doors fully open, a voice begins laughing darkly…

… although if you’ve ever heard the voice of Della Duck, you’ll recognize her immediately.

“Boys and girls of every age, wouldn’t you like to see something strange?”

Suddenly there’s a big THUD as someone drops from the ceiling, the lights flash on, and Della herself, dressed as a zombie – ripped apart clothes, fake blood here and there, drawn on scars - wiggles her fingers before laughing joyfully. “Happy Halloween, everybody! Let’s party!”

Tasty Treats

A big buffet table of candy and punch has been laid out! Mini chocolate bars and multi-colored lollipops, gummy worms and candy corn, all sorts of sweet and sour shenanigans, ghost-shaped cookies and mummy-looking muffins! There’s plenty to eat, with absolutely no healthy alternatives.

There are also small wrapped bags of candy with the letters “T.o.T” written on them. If someone tells you, “Trick or Treat!” you have to share your candy! Or keep it to yourself, you monster.

Haunted House

Thanks to Seto Kaiba’s projections, a neighboring carriage has been converted into a Haunted House! While it’s all a trick on the eyes, it gives the illusion that there are several floors of spookiness. Each floor has a different theme –

#1 Serial Seriousness – Every so often, a masked intruder pops out at you, with long claws or chainsaw, ready to give chase! Be careful, or you’ll be the next victim!

#2 Zombie Zaniness – Moans and groans of the undead can’t be unheard. Rotting arms will try to swipe at you through the floorboards!

#3 Ghostly Games – You can see through them, and they can see you too! Each mirror reflects a different dastardly demon!

#4 Deadly Doctors – In this hospital, it’s not the awful health insurance that’ll kill you! Beware the bloody nurses and their extra big needles!\

#5 Fishy Fears - … Wait, what? … Okay, this last floor was clearly designed by Della. It’s like Under the Sea, but with sharks and octopi and kraken - and Della insists this is the worst floor.

Feel free to have your characters braving the house, or trying to scare people within!

Dance Floor

If being haunted isn’t your thing, nothing wrong with getting your groove on! Ask DJ Della what kind of song you’d like to play, and she’s happy to put on the list, from a classic Monster Mash to something more somber and soulful for you slow-dancing-romantic-vampire-types.

Turnip Carving
… Look, they didn’t have pumpkins. Anyway, you’re encouraged to carve scary and silly faces in these veggies! There is a contest, but everyone will be a winner, from “Most Realistic” to “Most Depressing” !

Movie Mania
Kick back and relax – and be horrified – at the otherworldly horror films! Like the horrific monster mime, “That”, the relentless umpire-mask wearing killer, “Monday the 20th”, and the endless array of the undead, “Midmorning Of The Not Wholly Alive”!

Some of you awful people might be thinking of popping up and scaring the theater-goers and this is /winkwinknudgenudge/ totally not approved. /plausible deniability/

Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark
In one secluded, quiet, and verrry dark carriage, lit only by candles, here you are encouraged to tell the scariest stories you can think of! What eerie legends will you share from your world, or do you dare to make it up as you go along?

Make your own top-level, and happy haunting!

Also, if your character would like to dress up, costumes are available for this night only!

"...and that's when I learned, Elder Gods DO have nads. And they smash REAL good. WHAM! Gave him two for good measure. Then I shadowkicked him to the ground and said...well, something like 'You got Caged,' but cooler than that."

She smiles and breathes deeply, preparing the last line of her story.

"And that's why the scariest thing on this train...is ME! Boo!"

Sonya listened to the story with a slight, nearly there smile. She already knew it of course, had seen the end of that fight (and listened to what happened from both witnesses), but she wasn't going to let on just how much was elaborated and what wasn't. Cassie wasn't the first soldier to tell of their experiences in that way, and she certainly wouldn't be the last.

In the end, whatever helped them cope with the shit that happened-that was the main thing.

"Those jokes are scarier than your stories."

"Oh, I was thinking about telling Dad's blue golf ball joke next," Cassie says. "That one's terrifying."

"I'm aware his jokes are scary," She returned. "But I think Halloween's for scary stories, not jokes."

Though for Johnny they were probably one in the same. His tongue really could be a weapon; it could get him killed as much as it could help them. "How about I try my hand?" She had a strong feeling she'd regret this. "I'll even let you pick the subject."

"Ooooh, that sounds tempting," Cassie says.

"How about...urban legends?"

She frowned at that; not because of the challenge, but given Cassie's penchant for social media and how she was able to keep on top of things (even while on duty), Sonya was certain she would've already heard of every one of them. Especially military related.

"You mean one you hadn't heard of," She voiced her doubt. "Not sure that's possible." She considered a moment, chin in hand. "I do..however..know a certain number of military bases and forts that are supposedly haunted. A few even hold modern stories of soldiers witnessing supernatural events."

Which, even if they hadn't experienced what they had in the past, she felt stories from soldiers and other military personal held more weight than those from regular civilians. Military personnel had their reputation to consider and any notion they might be loosing their minds or prone to 'flights of fancy' would be a serious mark against them; if they said they experienced something paranormal, they would've had to have been damn certain they experienced something.

As per usual, she rolled her shoulders and neck, habit even if what she was about to do wasn't physical. Story telling was more Johnny's shtick than hers, but she was called to the challenge and like hell would she back down from it.

"Alright," She started. "I'll give you one that's personal. It didn't happen to me exactly, but I knew of students who experienced things and told in close circles-and Halloween of course."

"The military academy at West Point, prestigious as it is, is actually haunted. Not that any official person would admit to it, but when you have a school nearly as old as the United States itself, add in an unfortunate history of hazing first year cadets, and some ghosts are bound to stick around."

There was some joke about military discipline there, she was certain.

"One of the most...passed around..stories was in the 47th division barracks. This was where first-year male cadets were housed, so like I said, this is all from various students, not me personally. The barracks is said to be haunted by the ghost of a cavalryman in 19th century uniform. Students will wake up in the dormrooms to find him passing through, not looking at them, just marching forward, or they'll be in the locker room after practice, and he'll come through the lockers, but only his head and part of his torso. The officials deny it of course, but I personally recall hearing some of the guys making any excuse not to sleep in that room, and room hoping was frowned upon anyway, so what other reason would be if not an actual ghost."

Though, considering what she knew now-hell, even at a young age, she considered herself more curious than scared of ghosts. Hearing of one that just patrolled the halls, at the time she found it more funny than scary.

"Does he have a name? Is he wearing a blue or gray uniform? What's kinda SPICY shit does he have goin' on?"

Cassie shakes her head.

"You gotta tickle their balls a little with a story like this."

Sonya rolled her eyes. "He goes by the name Pusher, because when he appears, even if the kids are asleep," And they were always kids to her for how young the cadets were. "He was able to push them awake, just standing there, but he's not recognizable from any of the photos of the area, and doesn't carry anything in way of an ID."

"As for the uniform, he's literally just shades of grey and white enough to light up the room. He appears in a certain part of the barracks, either just glaring or walking and making rounds."

And it would be scary enough with a senior cadet or instructor appearing suddenly in a room, even she recalled that much.

"There is another ghost, this one does have a name. The superintendent's house is haunted by the ghost of a maid who went by the name Molly. She's more active than the Pusher. Sometimes she'll make an appearance, dressed in her work uniform, other times, if your bed clothes are rumbled or tossed around when you just made them, then clearly Molly wasn't happy. Probably not much of a drinker either, since she's known to toss wine bottles off shelves as well."

"Oooh, spooky," Cassie says. "Does 'the ghost did it' count as a valid excuse when it's time for a barracks inspection?"

The look she gave her would've been akin to a full-bodied eyeroll. "I'm sure you could give it as an excuse, but if it would spare the asschewing you'd get later-likely not."

This was the military after all; even if soldiers did accept ghosts, they wouldn't take it as an excuse. "Besides, Molly doesn't haunt the barracks, so they'd definitely know you were lying anyway."

"Awww, nuts," Cassie says. "Never a ghost around when you need one. Only when you don't."
