it's halloween, lo-ween, everybody!

Who: Everyone's Invited!
Where: Various decorated carriages!
When: Horseshoe 31.
What: Della is hosting a Halloween party! Come for treats, tricks, and trouble!
Warnings: N/A, will update it needed.

The room is dark…why aren’t the lights on? But as the doors fully open, a voice begins laughing darkly…

… although if you’ve ever heard the voice of Della Duck, you’ll recognize her immediately.

“Boys and girls of every age, wouldn’t you like to see something strange?”

Suddenly there’s a big THUD as someone drops from the ceiling, the lights flash on, and Della herself, dressed as a zombie – ripped apart clothes, fake blood here and there, drawn on scars - wiggles her fingers before laughing joyfully. “Happy Halloween, everybody! Let’s party!”

Tasty Treats

A big buffet table of candy and punch has been laid out! Mini chocolate bars and multi-colored lollipops, gummy worms and candy corn, all sorts of sweet and sour shenanigans, ghost-shaped cookies and mummy-looking muffins! There’s plenty to eat, with absolutely no healthy alternatives.

There are also small wrapped bags of candy with the letters “T.o.T” written on them. If someone tells you, “Trick or Treat!” you have to share your candy! Or keep it to yourself, you monster.

Haunted House

Thanks to Seto Kaiba’s projections, a neighboring carriage has been converted into a Haunted House! While it’s all a trick on the eyes, it gives the illusion that there are several floors of spookiness. Each floor has a different theme –

#1 Serial Seriousness – Every so often, a masked intruder pops out at you, with long claws or chainsaw, ready to give chase! Be careful, or you’ll be the next victim!

#2 Zombie Zaniness – Moans and groans of the undead can’t be unheard. Rotting arms will try to swipe at you through the floorboards!

#3 Ghostly Games – You can see through them, and they can see you too! Each mirror reflects a different dastardly demon!

#4 Deadly Doctors – In this hospital, it’s not the awful health insurance that’ll kill you! Beware the bloody nurses and their extra big needles!\

#5 Fishy Fears - … Wait, what? … Okay, this last floor was clearly designed by Della. It’s like Under the Sea, but with sharks and octopi and kraken - and Della insists this is the worst floor.

Feel free to have your characters braving the house, or trying to scare people within!

Dance Floor

If being haunted isn’t your thing, nothing wrong with getting your groove on! Ask DJ Della what kind of song you’d like to play, and she’s happy to put on the list, from a classic Monster Mash to something more somber and soulful for you slow-dancing-romantic-vampire-types.

Turnip Carving
… Look, they didn’t have pumpkins. Anyway, you’re encouraged to carve scary and silly faces in these veggies! There is a contest, but everyone will be a winner, from “Most Realistic” to “Most Depressing” !

Movie Mania
Kick back and relax – and be horrified – at the otherworldly horror films! Like the horrific monster mime, “That”, the relentless umpire-mask wearing killer, “Monday the 20th”, and the endless array of the undead, “Midmorning Of The Not Wholly Alive”!

Some of you awful people might be thinking of popping up and scaring the theater-goers and this is /winkwinknudgenudge/ totally not approved. /plausible deniability/

Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark
In one secluded, quiet, and verrry dark carriage, lit only by candles, here you are encouraged to tell the scariest stories you can think of! What eerie legends will you share from your world, or do you dare to make it up as you go along?

Make your own top-level, and happy haunting!

Also, if your character would like to dress up, costumes are available for this night only!

Even Senku can tell she's found that disturbing. She wasn't wrong, there was an element of horror involved. He had no real desire to be re-petrified, it was something he'd be bothered by.

As scary as that was, that wasn't his biggest fear. His biggest fear was finding himself alone on a planet with not another soul again. That had been far worse than being a mind trapped in nothingness.

"Yeah, I was." Senku wasn't really sure how to comfort children, but Suika liked a pat on the head, he could at least do that, reach out to offer a gentle pat.

"You can tell I broke out from the statue because of these scars on my forehead here." Senku indicated them, coming down through his eyes. "That's where the petrification cracked first." Strangely enough, most people didn't ask about those which he would've thought they would. Gen had a similar 'scar' although his was painted on, at that point.

She didn't move as he patted her head, though she was alert, he didn't seem threatening but letting down her guard was not something she was prepared to do. She was still processing his words, it reminded her a bit of the book she had been reading. That had been a horror story and it was a bit disturbing to hear something so similar had happened.

She peered at his forehead and nodded, she was used to people with scars, sailors and the types who drank at the Poison Apple often had scars, but she had never seen one from being stuck in stone before.

"Does everyone who you did be waking up be having a scar like that then?"

"That's right." He leaned down a bit so she could get a good look if she liked. "They all have them on different parts of their bodies. The scars can be repaired if you get petrified again. We know because some of them got petrified again temporarily."

He hummed. "But the device is out of juice, and dealing with my scars is the least important part of anything really."

"How did they be being petrified again?"

Surely once was bad enough, she wrinkled her nose. "Kant do be saying that scars do be being reminders, they do be being our bodies way of telling us to be being better next time or to be reminding us just how strong we did be being when we did be getting them."

And his scars looked almost natural, just part of his face really.

"I can't argue with that." Senku chuckled lightly.

"We went to an island that happened to be inhabited. They had one of the devices. Now, I'm not sure if it's exactly the same was what turned us to stone before, but it doesn't matter, it did the trick. The old man said the command and convinced some helpless person to run into the middle of the island so that everyone on the island was petrified again." Senku exhaled.

"I had some revival fluid on me and my entire team did me a favour, by sacrificing themselves so I could throw it up in the air just right on time so it would hit me when the petrification did and I wouldn't get petrified. They gave me the data points in the math problem to do the calculation."

Senku paused a moment, considering that. "After that I tricked the guy into losing the device through battle. It's lucky for me he wasn't much of a fighter. Better than me but I'm smarter." He smirked. "It's how I managed. Then it was just me alone again." He trailed off a moment.

"Ah, nevermind." He shook his head quickly, but that was something that haunted him. "I worked hard to revive people in order so that everyone who was revived was taken care of as we went, it took about two weeks in total, but you know...it's still much too long. No one wants to be petrified like that. They did discover though that it fixed their scars." He hummed. "Do you know Gen? Something he told me he did in my future, was convince everyone that as a show of solidarity they'd wear makeup where their scars were. So don't tell anyone, but his is a fake." He finshed wiht a wink and a lighthearted bit.

What a story. Senku's world was a crazy place, machines that could turn people to stone, plans that involved throwing bottles in the air to stop him from being petrified, maths to save peoples lives, tricking people into battle.

It was like the craziest story she had ever read. But she can hear in his voice, it had not been as exciting for him really. It must have been terrible to be alone, terrifying to be turned to stone again...

She nods, she did know Gen. She had met him not even an hour before, at the snack table! He did have the same scars and she was surprised to hear they were fake.

"They must be trusting you a lot, to be sacrificing themselves for you. Gen do be being from your world too? Did he be being one of the people who did be being petrified by that machine?"

It probably made an excellent story to be told, but it wasn't as fun to live through for him.

"They do." Senku said, as though this was a matter of fact rather than something he worried about. "I'm the leader of a village and one of the generals of the Kingdom of Science. Gen is another one of my generals." Senku explained.

"He was frozen as a statue all that time, but he wasn't aware. He slept the whole time." Senku explained. "So when he woke up he thought no time had passed. He was one of the people with me on the island, so yes, he was petrified then too. Unfortunately he had to wait a bit." He sighed. It would be nice to prioritize Gen's skills, but he hadn't been able to at the time.

"He and I are very close. We live together." He smiled fondly. "Usually. It's a lot harder to be together all the time on the train. He has a few jobs among the generals. We all do different things. I deal with the village, and science projects and deciding what we do next, a lot of strategy stuff. Gen is my right hand man and he deals in diplomacy, meaning he usually takes what I say and makes it sound...less crazy and blunt."

His right hand man? She listened as he explained about what he and Gen did in their kingdom of science.

Diplomacy. She knows what that is and even if she had only met Gen one time she could see why he was good at that. He had spoke pretty words and knew all about how to do perform tricks without making people angry.

He would be good at prettifying words and making people want to help their village or kingdom or whatever.

"Do you no be being good at talking?"

[personal profile] 10billionpercent 2020-12-06 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm plenty good at talking." Senku said with a bit of a smirk. "I think I've proven I can talk your ear off. I'm not good at talking politely. Or diplomatically. I have no patience for what he does. I just like to get to the damn point."
knifewithnoname: (pondering)

[personal profile] knifewithnoname 2020-12-07 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
He had talked a lot it was true. But she nodded with a small sigh.

"Talking politely do be being very hard sometimes."

Sometimes people were just stupid.

"That's true, and when you're blunt like me sometimes people take it the wrong way. Okay, a lot of times." Senku observed wryly.

"That's why Gen cleans up after me because I don't always notice if someone's been offended by what I've said."
knifewithnoname: (quiet)

[personal profile] knifewithnoname 2020-12-09 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"He do be sounding useful then."

Someone to clear up after words made everything messy. That would be a good person to have.

"He do be good at seeing then? How other people do be thinking about you?"
10billionpercent: (Satisfied)

[personal profile] 10billionpercent 2020-12-10 12:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"He's very useful. Everyone is. They just have different skills." Senku explained.

"Yep, that's part of his job. He's the one who talks people into doing things so they don't get mad at me."
knifewithnoname: (heartbreak)

[personal profile] knifewithnoname 2020-12-10 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
That really was a useful person to have, someone who makes other people not be mad at you.

She grins. "No everyone do be being useful, some people do be being really useful but most people who do be trying can be finding something to be being useful at."
10billionpercent: (Slight Smile)

[personal profile] 10billionpercent 2020-12-10 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"I can't argue with you there, a lot of people try and find skills that they might see as useful and then they practice a lot and get good at them. Even if the Mentalist's skill is talking to people he still had to practice that." It was so not for him.

"Everyone in my village does something different and they all work together on common goals. It's fairly good that way." There weren't enough people to worry about things like people falling through the cracks. There were still few enough he could keep track of them all.
knifewithnoname: (yes okay)

[personal profile] knifewithnoname 2020-12-11 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
"That do be being good. If there so be being not many people left it do be being even more important they do be being useful."

No room for useless people. His village sounded pretty good actually, if it was like so. With everyone having a purpose and clear goals. The sort of place that made sense.

"It do be sounding like your village will be being very successful."
10billionpercent: (Default)

[personal profile] 10billionpercent 2020-12-11 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"It has been very successful so far. We've made a lot of big scale projects, everyone works really hard on them, but at the same time they get taken care of too." Senku hummed. "It's pretty simple that way, it's just how it's worked out. Also, they get to see all kinds of cool stuff they wouldn't have seen otherwise."
knifewithnoname: (serious)

[personal profile] knifewithnoname 2020-12-12 01:17 pm (UTC)(link)
She nodded, "It do be sounding like a good place to be living."

Even if it was difficult to imagine. She was getting better at accepting places that seemed so different than her own world.
10billionpercent: (Satisfied)

[personal profile] 10billionpercent 2020-12-13 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
"I really hope it is, that's what I'm going for. It's my village, after all." Senku said with a hum.

"I don't run it alone, but I'm the village chief and I just feel responsible for making sure everyone is alright." He smiled. "I have a lot of good people who help me though. We all have different skills, even among us five generals."
knifewithnoname: (yes okay)

[personal profile] knifewithnoname 2020-12-13 07:45 am (UTC)(link)
She nodded, he sounded very passionate about his village. It was bad that he was now here and not back there. Though if he had five generals, they should be able to stop things from being bad.

She smiled at him, falling quiet as she finally ran out of questions.
