Hey look, it's a Tony log

Who: Tony and OTA
Where: Kitchen/ Dining car
When: Bassoon 4-ish
What: Tony's cooking meals, making treats, and generally trying to keep himself busy
Warnings: Irreverence and Language? The usual.

The last team had done a respectable job in the kitchen. He'd had few complaints during the last month. However, between himself and the rest of the red team, especially Feanor, people were going to be very well fed this month.

Even though there were plenty of cooks in this kitchen for the month, this particular day Tony had taken over the kitchen. He was only sort of sticking to the recipes he'd been given, preferring to use his own or make them up as he went (shocking, I know). Currently he had three dishes he was working on at once. He had some salmon he was curing to make lox, some gummy candy he was making, and the main dish for the evening meal- whole roasted salmon with herbs and farfalle pasta with asparagus and tomatoes. Thanks to Evie and Feanor, they also had sourdough bread to go along with it and a fancy Elvish dessert.

Off to one side, he had an eggplant out, ready to fix for certain individuals who saw fish and fled in terror.

[ooc: Feel free to catch him at any point of this meal prep, during clean up, or during the meal. Whatever, you guys know I'll tag anything.]

Moving to grab the asparagus and salmon, more prep is done and everything has a methodical order to it. Being used to cooking enough food for four grown men was more than adequate training grounds for this kitchen.

The garlic was cut peeled and minced. The bacon was ready to get in the frying pan, and the salmon was arranged in the pan. Cheese was then getting ready so it would go over the fish and veggies later. Asparagus was then washed. Grabbing some oil, Ignis started getting everything ready to start cooking, hoping Tony was hungry.

A slight smile appeared at the powered sugar comment. "Id only use it if I needed to sweeten your disposition." This was him throwing a pun out there as he used to do that with Noct so it was a sort of familiarity. Tony couldn't know the significance of the gesture, and Ignis wouldn't tell him.

To have Tony just sit and keep him company was all Ignis could've asked for since it was nice and relaxing for him. It was so sweet of the older man to help when the coffee got low, which earned a very heartfelt thank you in return.

He half laughed at the comment, still working away. "I'm afraid that I'm not half as interesting as a man who can hold a party, dance with other people and still keep his audience entertained throughout the evening." Ignis was definitely an introvert and Tony seemed to be the opposite. And even just hanging out in the background that night as he had, had him exhausted.

"I'm..glad." Ignis really had no comeback for this. And really..he had no idea what to do with the last bit. He didn't want to repeat the comment about how Tony probably said these things to others. So the older man just got a look. "I'm sure there are others more worthy of your time and attention for that though I don't recall seeing you dance with any gentlemen at your party."

At the change in topic, Ignis nodded, putting seasonings on the salmon. "Yes, I was his chef, butler, advisor, chamberlain..whatever was required. But yes, I was officially sworn in as his guardian protector at seventeen." That was when he'd made the Crownsguard and Gladio had already been in place.

He didn't know what to do with that smile. What was that all about? Really Tony had to be the confusing man Ignis had ever come across. Still, as he got the garlic and bacon going, he seemed thoughtful. He debated whether or not to say anything about this topic but then it wasn't a huge revelation and it had nothing to do with home.

"I almost..asked you for a dance that night." His face..why was it turning red again? "But I thought it wouldn't be welcome, so I stayed away." Hopefully that didn't ruin anything by admitting it out loud. Boy was watching garlic and bacon interesting.

When he was sure his face wasn't red anymore, he risked a look over at Tony. "Jarvis?"

Taking the bacon and garlic off of the hot burner, the salmon went in the oven and the asparagus was being prepared when Tony started in about the dancing. Ignis nodded to the question and then green eyes locked with the other's dark pair.

A smile appeared. "If I think I think I could handle you? More like the other way around in this case, so I accept your challenge." There was a bit of a teasing drawl and he stopped himself in time before he could admit that he'd taught a king how to dance.

But he didn't..just notice Tony was good looking. That smile he received made Ignis turn his head away. He didn't just notice, no he didn't. The man was married and here he was just..entertainment for the evening. This was about as hopeless a case as Noct.

"So your..friend was a computer?" Oh yeah, now he's lost.

He wasn't sure Tony was serious about the music thing and what was with that look? It was if the menu had changed and he himself was on it. That couldn't be right, and Ignis shook his head. "Too bad for you because you would lose. And the bigger tragedy is that dinner would burn." There may or may not have been an extra emphasis on the last word for reasons.

This was all banter and he couldn't put stock in it because again he was just serving as the night's entertainment. So when all was said and done Tony would move onto someone more appealing and better adequately equipped to deal with the other man's fire.

Straightening himself up, the asparagus was dealt with and Ignis started grating cheese as he listened about Jarvis. So ending a war was the reason Tony was going to..that hit close to home. After a moment or two, the dirty blonde head nodded.

"I see, and I'm sorry."

'And now I'm here to bother you'. rang in Ignis head as he finished making diner. What could he say to that? What should he say to that? "I'm ..rather glad you're here." This was the best line he could come up with and it was spoken softly.

"While dinner is cooking if you'd like to take a shower, this would be the time." He'd noticed Tony's coffee cup empty and so had gone to fill it without being asked as had been done for him. "I'll resume cleaning up after dinner."

It would take a bit, but Ignis had been in here cleaning by himself the night the little girl came in and everything had fallen due to the shift of the train. So he was certainly no stranger for taking it on by himself so Tony could rest if he wanted.

"I.." His voice cut out the protest as he got a good view of Tony's posterior. Ignis coughed and his face turned red. Luckily the food was already in the oven at this point or he probably would've coughed all over it. That sight was just way more than he needed to see.

The advisor had to turn around and look at something else before he could banish the coughing spell. "I'm sure if you look before you sit down, you should be fine." Yes, tomorrow Tony would go fluttering off to his next victim and all of this would be forgotten by the older man. Ignis would just have to wait this out.

Losing the pants earned more coughing. "No, you can simply sit on a towel." He's not commenting about the older man's rear at all, it just isn't happening. He couldn't understand why Tony had showed him his rear end, but maybe it was a nonsensical gesture much like the other ones the man did plenty of.

Obviously one of them had to be the adult here and it wasn't Tony.

"About fifteen minutes or so." Ignis replied, checking on the asparagus. He had to give himself something else to do other than to keep wondering why Tony was behaving the way that he was. If the advisor thought he was confused before, it just got worse really.

Turning, he started to get the plates and utensils out because it gave him something else to focus on other than to be completely bewildered.

"Iced tea will be fine." But Ignis is sticking with the coffee too. He's still making sure everything is going to come out the way it's supposed to and so adds the cheese & bacon to the asparagus. The fish is going to need another minute or two for the cheese.

He refuses to even consider anything happening here. Tony is bored and he is the intended target for the evening. So he's not going to worry about this being anything more than a getting to know each other thing. The other man is one who enjoys attention from all sorts of people and that's it, just the attention. Tomorrow someone else will be his focus.

Looking over at Tony now, the advisor put his hands on either side of the counter and locked their gazes letting out a sigh. "We are not courting."

Pulling the fish out, Ignis put the cheese on and stuck it back in the oven. "Should be ready in about two minutes."

Another sigh escaped the advisor as he shook his head. "A friend date indeed." Friends could date but Tony was just being ridiculous. "I'm not cooking dinner.." and then there was that question. Several moments ticked by and green eyes stared.

"Falling into your arms will not be something that I do this evening." Having said that, Ignis turned and got the fish and asparagus out of the oven.
