Fight Club Open Log! (Catch-All For the Month of Imagination)
Who: Open to anyone! Make your own toplevel style~
Where: Training gym
When: Throughout the month of Imagination
What: Training in the gym. Unofficially known as "Fight Club". 47 absolutely does not call it that. But I do!
Warnings: It's a Fight Club! Sorta. Expect (hopefully friendly) violence, maybe some cursing, and whatever else. Free feel to add cw in your toplevels if needed.
Early in the month of Imagination, 47 makes an announcement on the ICP.
From: Training Gym
To: All Carriages
Make toplevels to your heart's content and tag around to each other freely. Whether your character is offering to teach or wanders in looking for someone to get them involved (or just to watch), this is a post for you! You may use this for any sort of open or even private threads if you so wish.
This log is for anyone who wants to participate in exercising, training, sparring, and teaching lessons. Some of the "classes" also involve things like yoga, meditation, and easier self defense mechanisms for anyone to learn. Magic users also use the facilities to practice their spells! Everyone get use to that crazy lightning storm going off around them as they fight the big bad monster of a training dummy! It's going to happen at some point out in the field, guaranteed!
Basically, if you want to learn new skills that could be useful on missions, come take a peek!
[[ooc note: The typical Fight Club open log post has returned! Now condensed into one post with the ic announcement for convenience of yours truly. Here is the original ooc info post which may or may not one day get an update, and here is a list of training/trainers offered up. Feel free to continue to update either post with new character info! Or ask questions if you have 'em!]]

- [It's the bald man in a suit again and if you've guessed what he's going to say before he starts talking you've been on the train for far too long like the rest of them.]
Another mission should be coming within the week. Anyone unprepared should consider the efforts ongoing in the training gym to learn new skills for survival, combat, and defensive measures. Those who have such skills already are welcome to participate in sparring and exercise sessions as well if they have not already done so within the group setting. [Or come help train.]
There are multiple people to chose from for training or sparring needs. Simply make your way to the training gym whenever possible. My name is Tobias Rieper--you'll find me there most days and if you need help with anything I'm available.
[That's all he has to say this time. Short, sweet, to the point. The end. He'll be in the training gym for Q&A for the rest of the day and probably most of the week or until the next mission comes (at least). This is typical for him anyway.]

- For a basic set-up consider this: the new training gym has all sorts of useful equipment for physical fitness such as mats, soft hand held pads for training with, training dummies, some balancing beams and even a springboard. There are large blocks for making obstacle courses or creating a unique battlefield, and two climbing apparatus next to the wall. Many people are found here daily training, maintaining physical fitness, and teaching others how to handle combat in one fashion or another. Others come and go more sporadically but all are welcome and everyone (typically) shares everything with relative ease. Many of the usual suspects will help accommodate whoever asks for help. Generally, there is just a lot of activity and a busy but fluid schedule around all the equipment and space provided.

But enough about that, Piccolo focused on the child in front of him. Determined, polite--Piccolo couldn't help but reminded of another child from his past.
"Well met, Alfredo. I don't think we have. I'm Piccolo." For all intents and purposes. Even the train hadn't known what else to call him.
He smiled lopsidedly. "So you want to know how to fight with ki, hmm?"
Even without DBZ knowledge, that hurts my heart. ;;
"Yes. Using my body, as well as the terrain."
Like a certain Sanzo had been doing on the mission.
it's okay he just got grumpy at his student for going so soft over the years. XD lol
"It sounds like you have a notion of what it looks like," he said with some amusement. "Are you sure you want to learn from me?"
And not the person--if it was someone here on the train--that he had seen doing such things.
Ahh. XDDDD
"But I know it would take more effort than that, if there's some particular requirements that aren't made clear when an expert's in motion."
no subject
That aside, and Piccolo didn't bother to ask for the moment, he nodded at Alfredo. "I will teach you."
no subject
"Thank you, sir Piccolo."
If asked, he'd keep off the 'sir' part for the future, though!
"And- I had two questions, next. One: what sort of preparation should I start with, for working with ki? And two... you've seen Madoka work as an archer, yes?"
Asking for something on behalf of a friend - there's still the meeting to come, yes, but a little extra insurance wouldn't hurt, right?
"I was thinking of asking for something for her, from the train if I had to, to help keep her supplied and better able to take out a wider range of opponents. Would that be all right?"
Just the premise itself, not necessarily asking for anything right now.
no subject
"Physical training is going to be one of the biggest parts of eventually manipulating ki. At least the way I and other warriors from my world use it."
Then the second question registered and he paused. Curious.
Of course he knew Madoka and he had seen her on the missions. He often kept an eye on her if he could. She was important to him, someone he had grown attached to while here. He nodded absently as he listened to Alfredo explain his idea.
He wasn't entirely sure what Alfredo was asking of him specifically though.
"Ah. Of course." Blinkblink. "I mean, why do you ask? If you want to help her, you should do what you want. And..." It's not like he would object to anything that aided Madoka. "...it's a nice thing to want to do. Was there...something more specific you wanted to ask me about it?"
Something that he could...actually help with, maybe?
no subject
On the other, what Alfredo really wanted was a way to help Madoka without flustering her... but maybe there wasn't really an answer to that?
Matter seemingly settled in his mind the best it could be, he said, "Are arrows something you'd be able to make, then? Or show me how to make, even?"
no subject
He'd already been convinced to help out by making more items for people. In particular defensive items like armor and shields. But he had also agreed to think about creating weapons again. He supposed arrows counted towards that.
He didn't think about it before he offered to do it though. It was for Madoka and this young boy. It was an innocent request. And he didn't have an objection.
Guess that was just how it was. He smiled at Alfredo. Well, one decision made. It couldn't be helped. The train needed more armaments for those without as much skill as others to protect themselves. The rest was just up to good faith.

Whether Piccolo said they were a favor/how they came to be a favor was up to the Namekian.
"But, speaking of practice, I'd like to start my own training today. I know there's a lot of work to do."
And not necessarily much time to master the basics in - who knew what would happen on this train next?
no subject
She probably wouldn't need too many replacement arrows except after missions that got a little crazy if she kept up with them and took care. It wouldn't be hard to keep up then. He could easily supply that.
"All right." Piccolo unfolded his lanky form and stood up. "That's a good fighting spirit. Keep it up and you'll do just fine."
Can handwave from here? Either's fine.
Alfredo likewise stood up, visibly wondering what sort of stance he should take... and eventually settling on one where he felt more balanced. That seemed right, somehow.
"If there's one thing I've got, I suppose, it's spirit!"
Or faith, really. Though, if you were dead and believed in God and His Heaven, did that make the two the same...?
yeah looks like a good place to do that
"Good. You'll need it. Now..."
Piccolo would help Alfredo refine and take control of that stance, of that spirit, and--well, okay, basics first and then they'd get to the good stuff later. For now, Piccolo would start with the easy stuff.
