Fight Club Open Log! (Catch-All For the Month of Imagination)
Who: Open to anyone! Make your own toplevel style~
Where: Training gym
When: Throughout the month of Imagination
What: Training in the gym. Unofficially known as "Fight Club". 47 absolutely does not call it that. But I do!
Warnings: It's a Fight Club! Sorta. Expect (hopefully friendly) violence, maybe some cursing, and whatever else. Free feel to add cw in your toplevels if needed.
Early in the month of Imagination, 47 makes an announcement on the ICP.
From: Training Gym
To: All Carriages
Make toplevels to your heart's content and tag around to each other freely. Whether your character is offering to teach or wanders in looking for someone to get them involved (or just to watch), this is a post for you! You may use this for any sort of open or even private threads if you so wish.
This log is for anyone who wants to participate in exercising, training, sparring, and teaching lessons. Some of the "classes" also involve things like yoga, meditation, and easier self defense mechanisms for anyone to learn. Magic users also use the facilities to practice their spells! Everyone get use to that crazy lightning storm going off around them as they fight the big bad monster of a training dummy! It's going to happen at some point out in the field, guaranteed!
Basically, if you want to learn new skills that could be useful on missions, come take a peek!
[[ooc note: The typical Fight Club open log post has returned! Now condensed into one post with the ic announcement for convenience of yours truly. Here is the original ooc info post which may or may not one day get an update, and here is a list of training/trainers offered up. Feel free to continue to update either post with new character info! Or ask questions if you have 'em!]]

- [It's the bald man in a suit again and if you've guessed what he's going to say before he starts talking you've been on the train for far too long like the rest of them.]
Another mission should be coming within the week. Anyone unprepared should consider the efforts ongoing in the training gym to learn new skills for survival, combat, and defensive measures. Those who have such skills already are welcome to participate in sparring and exercise sessions as well if they have not already done so within the group setting. [Or come help train.]
There are multiple people to chose from for training or sparring needs. Simply make your way to the training gym whenever possible. My name is Tobias Rieper--you'll find me there most days and if you need help with anything I'm available.
[That's all he has to say this time. Short, sweet, to the point. The end. He'll be in the training gym for Q&A for the rest of the day and probably most of the week or until the next mission comes (at least). This is typical for him anyway.]

- For a basic set-up consider this: the new training gym has all sorts of useful equipment for physical fitness such as mats, soft hand held pads for training with, training dummies, some balancing beams and even a springboard. There are large blocks for making obstacle courses or creating a unique battlefield, and two climbing apparatus next to the wall. Many people are found here daily training, maintaining physical fitness, and teaching others how to handle combat in one fashion or another. Others come and go more sporadically but all are welcome and everyone (typically) shares everything with relative ease. Many of the usual suspects will help accommodate whoever asks for help. Generally, there is just a lot of activity and a busy but fluid schedule around all the equipment and space provided.

[For anyone wanting to reply to 47 through the ICP and ask him questions or
heaven forbidchat at him. He'll be here all day.]II. Training
47 stood by the ICP in the training gym for most of the first day. This was so he could make responses to his announcement, of course, but it was also easier to find him there than out in the middle of the hectic gym space. He was always ready to lend a hand to help find a trainer, a sparring partner, or even offer his own training regime to those that found his particular skills the most desirable to learn.
The remaining days he does his usual retinue of helping set up various obstacles courses and the like throughout the gym, and participating in training sessions with those still training under his guidance, as well as finding time to spar with anyone else looking for a partner when no one else was available. In essence, he was a near constant in the gym most days and he was always ready for whatever came his way.
Training-ish
Assignments and a demeanour that he shared, if he was honest with himself, but that were entirely incompatible with a kirin. Now, though, with their numbers further reduced... He found himself watching the tall, quiet man with serious speculation.
And it wasn't soon after that he approached, mind made up.
"I was hoping to have a moment of your time, Tobias," He didn't bother to smile; something told him it wouldn't serve to put the man at ease. Better to be straightforward. "I'd like some advice."
no subject
He simply nodded once in acknowledgement. "What can I help you with?"

"Mr. Tobias, sir." She greeted with a small bow. "I am pleased to meet you. My name is Eight. I have a question, and a possible request depending on the answer."
"You have the bearing of a soldier, and I would like to know a little of your past work and service."
no subject
"Our worlds are different," he said on the fly, "the information would hardly match with anything you know."
Not untrue technically. If he listed dates or actions none of it would make any sense to her. Further detail was out of the question. No one had quite asked him so explicitly what he did in the past, surprisingly, not like this. Rather, he had let people make their assumptions about what he did based on what they could see of his performances on the missions. He never caused any trouble and was useful out in the field so, presumably, they left well enough alone and simply accepted him. That was fine with him.
"If you're curious about my proficiencies, they are many. I can help you adjust to the missions as best suited to your needs if that is what you wish to ask about."

Piccolo | OTA
He had more students than he knew what to do with at this point. It was almost strange to teach so many at once but he found he didn't mind the challenge here. It kept him busy and it kept him doing something he loved to do. His students were all surprisingly studious, whether they were used to hard martial arts training or not, and for that he was grateful. Though each had different levels of skill and different abilities he did his best to teach each of them something useful and relevant to them.
Piccolo also wasn't opposed to picking up more students. He had never had a desire to teach large groups of people like Tien in his form of martial arts but it was needed here. The people needed it and he was available and his skills were highly useful to the sorts of missions they went on. And, besides, people liked it. He enjoyed it most days, too.
Whether new or old, come pester the grumpy green teacher and get some martial arts training!
II. Sparring
He didn't spend all his time training others. While that had its own sort of satisfaction to it, and even he learned new things as he took on new and unique students as the months stretched on the train, he still needed to maintain his own body and techniques. It was honestly easier said than done. Stuck on the train and surrounded by so many people, Piccolo had a hard time practicing his own sorts of techniques and martial arts at its highest level.
But when he did get the chance he took it to spar with whoever was willing. He was careful--whether because he didn't want to hurt anyone or because he didn't want to destroy all the equipment (and spend a day to recreate it with his magic). But it was fun to get a good spar out of the day when he could find a partner (or two or three) to go a round with.
Come at him!
III. Meditation and Wildcard
Catch him while he was meditating and either ask why those pieces of equipment were moving around on their own or wonder what he's thinking about that causes his brow to move sometimes (it's inner sparring--yes, imagination sparring with opponents he's faced in the past, ask him about it I dare you). Or just...join him for some (relative) peace and quiet while everyone else takes a go at the equipment for a bit.
If you're one of his students he's probably got you doing this at least once a day anyway. He doesn't require anyone to do it in the training gym but he encourages it to happen somewhere, sometime. He claims he'll know if you're not getting it done, but was that just a scare tactic or did he really keep that close of tabs on his students??
Come bother him while he's free or wait around for him to notice you're presence (it won't take long, he's "watching" even if his eyes are closed)!
Sparring
But don't worry, he wouldn't only stick to the underdog. The next really impressive thing Piccolo did got just as enthused applause, the priest delighted. "How invigorating!"
no subject
If anything, the man on the side lines was easy to ignore as just another noise in the background. Besides which, he'd heard such nonsense during tournaments in the past; the audience oooing and awwwing at the daring fights they watched from true martial artists.
It didn't mean much to him. He kept fighting until the match was over.

Meditation
Knowing or unknowing, however, the small girl would start humming. Hopefully it's not too distracting...?
no subject
It did bring his attention to her though. He knew he had been joined because he sensed the ki upon approach but he had paid it no mind. Now he concentrated further on the ki and gauged it, felt the calmness of it and knew she was also meditating, memorized the feel of it as another train passenger to keep track of while on missions.

Sparring, possibly meditation afterwards?
"We'll have to find a place on a mission where we can go all out, huh Piccolo? In the meantime, it'll be good practice right?"
sounds good o7
Forget the resort part of the trip, he had been more interested in the open spaces. But in other words...
"But after a mission sparring sounds good. There should be enough time if the mission goes well. And I doubt either of us will be exhausted afterward." Piccolo hardly ever truly was. His patience a little maybe but never so much his body.

Training/possibly Mediation, as promised - Imagination 14
While he'd deliberately come to talk to the Namekian, only really knowing that Piccolo was another leader in Blue Team, he found himself holding back. Watching, either the teacher himself or the lessons other students were getting.
He wasn't beginning to feel regret, was he? Alfredo had to have something to contribute... He had to start somewhere.
no subject
He also very purposefully sat down on the ground as he watched a few others using the gym. "See anything interesting out there?" he asked Alfredo casually.

Anyone who figured that learning from Natsuno would be sorely mistaken, because he looked like someone who desperately needed a teacher. He had a dagger in his hand and he was sort of running through vague, awkward movements and making stabbing motions.
Eight had told him to make stabbing motions at least, instead of the slashing he was doing earlier.
His stance was loose, completely wide open, his form was terrible, and if he kept swinging that dagger around, he might be likely to hurt himself, or even some poor innocent bystander.
It was honestly, embarrassing to watch.
II. Sparring
It was obvious from the earlier training that Natsuno had no combat experience to speak of. Really obvious.
Still, he was hesitating. "I...don't want to hurt you." He admitted with a grim little frown.
Combat Training
Fear, that's what.
Koumyou hadn't come in looking for Natsuno, or even anyone doing anything in particular, but he couldn't help but be drawn to that much awkward flailing.
He did, at least, tuck the sutra away into his pocket before speaking up, "You're going to put an eye out like that, probably one of yours!"
no subject
He appreciated the kindness in the concession because it kept everything at a low thrum and not a constant rising feeling of panic waiting to overtake him.
He could ignore something like that. He stopped, and shifted into a more relaxed posture. "It'd heal." He admitted first. Was that a joke? Actually, yes.
"I'm trying to figure this out."

sparring
Didn't make it any easier, so she'd elected for a spar instead of a lesson, to see where he was at. Here they were, Light with a hand on her hip, watching Natsuno's grip on his dagger for a second longer. And trying not to curl her lip. They both knew his lack of training going into this, there wasn't any point in highlighting it.
"You won't. Not holding it like that." Her other arm rose, gripping her own survival knife loosely in demonstration. "Worry about protecting yourself, before worrying about your opponent."

Trunks Brief (Future)| OTA
Trunks already spent plenty of time here in the training gym. It felt like a second home at times. Hand-to-hand, ki-blasts at target dummies, or sword-katas. Feel free to bother him as he absolutely knows what he's doing and happy to help others.
Sparring
Trunks is equally happy to help others learn and grow, and offer himself as a training partner. Feel free to ask him to spar with you, or he might just come offer himself if he sees someone struggling.
Re: Trunks Brief (Future)| OTA
Someone might have gotten lost, despite all the signs. She yawned and looked around. "What is this room for?" she asked sleepily. "It looks a little like one of the areas Master Horowitz sets up sometimes for training, but much smaller..."
"I am not sure, but perhaps it is for training of non-Cepters," her cane theorized. Yes. Her cane spoke.
