black butterfly, flutter me by;
Who: Otoha and anyone who wants to find him.
Where: All around the train!
When: Jelly, anywhere between day 3 - 5ish. (Please specify a particular date if it matters to you!)
What: Settling into train life is hard when you don’t know how to relax or... really function without direction.
Warnings: Interacting with Otoha is likely to involve talks of murder or general talk of him not being a person. Let me know if you need me to limit that! Also probably injuries in the second prompt.
[Training Gym]
Otoha has never missed a day of training in his life if he was able to get up and walk. As soon as he finds the training gym and it’s not a time when it’s occupied he makes his way in to take it over.
What follows is a bit of a mess as he drags things out to create an obstacle course. He positions dummies in strange clumps, around pads and behind larger blocks. He moves them around a bit until he’s satisfied and then starts springing between the dummies.
The sword he uses is long and sharp and probably not something the dummies were designed to withstand. After some damage, he swaps to just kicking and punching them, landing easily and setting them back up after every round.
[Kitchen]
Cooking can’t really be that hard, can it?
Maybe it can be, because Otoha is struggling with it. If it’s not the avocado being annoying to cut through - he’s not using his sword on this - it’s grabbing a pan from the oven without remembering to put on an oven mitt or rubbing his eyes from looking over a steaming pan.
At least he now has some bandages in his hoodie pocket.
[Greenhouse]
The greenhouse is probably not a place someone might expect to find a man like Otoha, but he’s still sitting there in the dirt, carefully making small holes in one of the plots and carefully trying to put the seeds in. … Is he supposed to do just one in each hole? How far apart are they supposed to be? He keeps having to get up and go over to the ICP and check things.
He knows about harvesting some of this, but planting it is another story.
[Wildcard]
Otoha’s a busy guy in some respects. He still wanders the train, looking out for both things he’s missed in the cars and also people he hasn’t seen before. He has to size up everyone, after all. You never know when someone’s going to be a threat.
Alternatively, you never know when someone’s going to drag you into something....

Kitchen
"Do you need help? I can make you something to eat if you're hungry."
no subject
He looked over at her, glancing down at the red marks on his hand. “Not hungry. Team got assigned to the kitchen.Trying to figure it out.”
It wasn’t a no.
no subject
"Ok, do you want to learn to use the kitchen then? I'm not the best, but I can show you the basics."

"You're going to be one of those types that makes me fix these things after every time you use them, aren't you?" he asked without malice. Amusement was perhaps in there somewhere deep down in the casual tone of voice. Casual for him anyway, it might have sounded stern and strict to anyone unfamiliar with him though. That was just how he sounded.
He was mostly commenting on the way the other was so hard hitting and precise. And the sword play had been brutal on the dummies, too. But if it helped then Piccolo could just fix them so others could do their best to practice without holding back.
no subject
Excuse you Piccolo he’s a man!!!Otoha had noted someone entering the gym during a round, but whatever. Let him watch. He shrugged at the... man? Yokai? Being before him. The voice didn’t bother him - it was a tone he knew well.
“... Fix it if I have to. Don’t know how... that’s why I switched to just hand to hand.” There were also big impact craters on the foam that are slowly fading. “Didn’t want to break everything on the first week.” Maybe later.

Sorry, (not sorry), all anime protags look like boys before you learn their age. And he's an old soul.Piccolo didn't reply to Otoha's words so much as showed him what the Namekian meant. He held out a hand towards one of the dummies and hit it with a beam of light that came out of his palm and engulfed the dummy briefly. When the light disappeared the training dummy was as good as new.
"I'm used to it. There are a lot of powerful people on board this train and not all of them use restraint hundred percent of the time." Any one of his ki blasts would have done worse damage if he ever accidentally let one off on the train. He kept them to a minimum though used mostly for demonstration for his students. They, however, were still learning so whenever they got off an excited blast of energy he didn't blame them if it wiped out a set of training equipment. Just took the time to replace whatever it was with his magic.

Kitchen
[Rich blurts from his position watching this disaster unfold, before rushing from the doorway into the kitchen properly, grabbing a dish towel to grab the pan himself.]
Be more careful with that, will ya?!
[It's probably strange that he's so panicked about this, but the burns on half his face might explain the overreaction.]
no subject
[He stares at Rich in utter confusion, just prodding the burns on his hands. Compared to the stoic, intimidating guy on the network post, this guy just looks puzzled and lost.]
Doesn’t matter. Didn’t want to go hunt down something when I didn’t need to.
no subject
[It takes a moment for Rich to remember about Otoha's unique ability, but even when he does, he just looks more frustrated.]
It doesn't matter if you can't feel it! You'd still get hurt! And it'd mess you up even more, probably. Pain's supposed to protect you from doing stupid shit!

Training Gym
Someone was already in there making things into some sort of obstacle course and he couldn't help but watch for a moment.
He didn't want to interrupt, so he jumped back up onto one of the steps, landing perhaps surprisingly quietly and he crouched down to sit and watch so he didn't interfere in his space.
no subject
The whole thing took maybe a minute, and he sheathed his sword before turning to Yoite.
"... Did you need this?"

She gets it, that was her for...
Well, that's still her, sometimes. But she can only leave a meeting so long, and by the third day of the new month she almost reaches over to tap his shoulder before he can leave the room. But that would have the conversation in an enclosed space, with her wrapped in a soft blanket and grouchy from sleep, so she decides against it.
A shower and breakfast - and the walk to the kitchens and back - have her feeling more herself, and when she spots him working through the training dummies, it seems like a good time.
"Mind if I disturb you?"
no subject
He notes her coming in and finishes his set, sending one of the dummies toppling over before he shrugs. "'Sfine with me. You're... Claire?" It's the only name on the cabin that he's not met, as well as the only female name on the cabin.
Or, well. He could have met her, but he's been feeling frustrated and sulky and not very talkative. More than usual. So he's been trying to work his aggression out on things that aren't other passengers, since he doubts that would go over well.
He is feeling better now that he's got clothes back that feel more like his normal clothes. The boots are still weird, but he can deal. Dark pants and a dark trenchcoat just feel more him.

Her worn, oft-repaired red hoodie is a marker of that, the back of it tucked against the holster of her gunblade. As she talks, she retrieves one of the fallen dummies, and sets it off to one side. If he shuts her down, she can just start a set of her own.

Training Gym - since we memed about it
Unfortunately, however, someone was already there. Prisoner watched for a little while and when the guy seemed to tire of hitting dummies, Prisoner waved to the man, then pointed to himself. He took a fighting stance to show his intent, then straightened and sort of shrugged to signify he was asking a question.
no subject
He turned around once he finished a set and watched the other guy. He wanted to fight?
“... Weapons or hand to hand? One finger for the first, two for the second.”
no subject
To illustrate he had a weapon Prisoner's right hand made a subtle motion and in his hand appeared a blue war spear. He leaned casually and rested the butt of it on the ground to support his weight. His head tilted as he waited for the man's response.
He gestured back to the man: you can choose, whatever you prefer.

wildcard: the feel good drag
Still, an idea had struck her while she'd been wandering. She thought it prudent--if nothing else--that he at least make the acquaintance of the Senior on the train--though if Nita ever heard Saash call her that...!
Truth was truth, though. Nita was the first one on the train. If nothing else, she was the one with a firm claw set into the operation, such as it was.
The tortoiseshell trotted into the gym, tail up and ears pricked, looking around to see if she was interrupting anything--or if she needed to get out of the way in a hurry!

As much as Otoha is trained and observant, the appearance of a feline is not one he’s tuned for. There’s no warning before dummy parts go flying towards the far side of the car, the rest of the dummy falling. The cut is a clean diagonal from shoulder to side - definitely not something most live targets would survive.
Otoha turns around and - oh. “... Didn’t hear you come in.” He really needs to listen for doors rather than footsteps...
The Third, The Library; Research Hour
She also has a pad of paper next to her, this time, for notes; the book on Void Missions really does feel like something her Seniors would have assigned her.
(Or, given recent developments back home, Irina. She's also beginning to appreciate the sheer amount of paperwork certain wizardries end up creating...)
She is unlike her friend Clef, however, in that she is not completely undisturbable whilst reading.
It's just a matter of someone happening to address her.

Then comes the swearing, and Nita figures she probably could help here.
"You need a hand looking for something up there?" she asks, carefully putting her current book on top of her notepad.

Greenhouse, slides in super duper late with a birb
"Are you in need of some help? I can offer my assistance if you would like." A warm, kind smile is found on her face, willing to help out someone she's certain is new here.
hell yes birbs
It said to just dig a hole and put the seed in, but the hole he's got is a bit too big but also way too shallow.
