Make the Clock Reverse,
Bring back what once was mine.

On the evening of Day 21, before it goes dark, any Voidtreckers who look out of the windows might see the void is a little more chaotic than usual. There's a little bit of turbulence. Nothing too bad, nowhere near how bad it got during the void storm, but noticeable all the same.

It doesn't last long, and the night continues. Those who are not early to bed may see the odd golden flicker out of the corner of their eyes, darting away and vanishing if pursued.

Strange...

Heal what has been hurt,
Change the fates' design.

"Good Morning passengers. Today is day twenty two of the month of Jelly." The morning announcement wakes everyone up as usual, and they awaken in their own beds.

Though, for some passengers, those beds may seem completely unfamiliar: a strange room full of people they don't recognise. For others the room and people are perfectly normal, just... bigger than they remember them being yesterday.

Or it might be that they feel healed, old scars faded. The changes might be small, sporting their embarrassing teenage hair cut; or drastic, their whole body younger.

Either way, it is clear that something very strange has happened on the train.

(OOC: All the information about this event is Here. All changes will reverse the next night and passengers will wake up normal on day 23.

Update: In early afternoon the dressing carriage cupboards will open and animal onesies will be available in child size.)

I. A Lack of Confusion

Yoite, despite being the size of a child much younger, had not regressed as much as it appeared. His pants could be belted and the hems rolled up. The oversized hoodie was fine, he didn't mind walking around with his hands covered up.

Notably, there were no black marks visible on his neck at the moment, just a jagged scar on the left side.

He decided to try and figure out what was going on, walking along the train. If anyone needed help he'd step up and wave at them. Can he help?

II. Feeling So Old For A Change

He might look like he was about eight years old, but honestly that wasn't the case.

He didn't look much healthier, in terms of weight so he was still going to follow Ichigo's plan.

Yoite got himself a snack and was sitting in the dining area at a chair. He had his knees drawn up so he was sitting in a ball, but it somehow looked much more pathetic with him being smaller.

III. Wildcard

[Here is the chance to throw anything you've got at me. Yoite is 15. He can hear, he's not sick, his eyesight is perfect, but instead he's mute.]

Romeo ran towards his roommate, everything was a bit confusing today and he's not sure how mister Yoite has shrunk. But lots of people have shrunk, it's a tricky day.

"Do you want more food mister Yoite?" He smiles at him, he has made some quick cookies, since there are lots of kids on the train now!

"They are yummy!"

Yoite at least knew Romeo and he smiled back at him slightly. He nodded, accepting a cookie. It was going to be pretty tasty he was sure of it.

He wasn't really sure how to express his gratitude. He opened his mouth and closed it again. He could be doing more to wrangle children, but honestly, not being able to talk was a bit of a detriment.

"I hope you enjoy it, mister Yoite!"

He wasn't sure why his roommate had stopped talking. Was it because he had gotten shy? Or was he like miss Ginia and couldn't talk at all?

But if that were the case how could he normally talk?

Yoite nodded again and he touched his throat, to signify he couldn't speak. He might remember everything, but his body at the moment remembered when he couldn't speak. It was mildly complicated. He didn't mean to be such a pain.

"It's okay!" He smiled at him, "I had a friend who couldn't speak, back in the heavens. She had to write things on her phone all the time or use her hands to speak."

He put the cookies down nearby. "You can eat as many as you want!"

He smiled. He didn't know sign language, not yet, so it wasn't helpful but he could still try and communicate in a way he hadn't when he actually was fifteen.

Yoite took a second cookie and offered him a thumb's up.

He returned the thumbs up with a grin. "I'm glad you like them!"

Food was it's own language after all.

He smiled at Romeo and nodded, he did like them and they tasted really good. When this ended, he would miss that again, but for the time being he was going to enjoy it.

"Hello!" Orisa said brightly, almost before she even entered the room. Her sensory suite was good enough to detect the presence of others if they were not being subtle. As she twisted her way through the door, she lifted one hand in greeting.

"Please allow me to assess your current mental state!"

Normally, Yoite wouldn't hear that, but this time he had no problem, looking up when she enters and he tilts his head slightly.

He offered a nod. She could assess him if she liked.

Oh, splendid! Orisa carefully made her way over, still mindful of her size.

"I would like to know what you remember of yesterday."

It was strange to be so small again but he nodded at her question and then hesitated.

He didn't really know how to communicate the answer to that.

He offered her a thumb's up, did that help? He did remember.

Orisa paused, her eyeshields rotating as she considered this response.

"Are you capable of communicating what you remember?"

The best Yoite could do was mime writing, because he couldn't speak at the moment. It was a bit frustrating, in its own way, but he was used to that.

Oh. This was a problem. Orisa did not carry around writing implements, what with having a computer database and all.

"Can you set your ICP to journal mode? That might permit us to communicate more readily!"

Yoite shook his head. If it did have a journal mode, he had no idea. He barely understood how to work the technology as it was.

At least Madoka has figured out what's up at this point. Maybe not what the cause is, but she is definitely starting to see a pattern in the people she's seeing across the train.

So when she spots Yoite, and he looks so much younger - even if he may not have regressed that much in age, or not as much as it seems - she quickly approaches him. Especially when he's looking so sad. Not that it's weird for Yoite to look that way, but it seems particularly pitiful today.

Madoka is trying to make sure he can see her before she speaks up, but it's kind of hard with his knees drawn up to his chest like that.

"Um.."

Her instinct is to call out his name, but what if he doesn't recognize her, just like the others? Maybe she should play it safe.

"Are you okay..?"

He didn't mean to look so pitiful, although that wasn't as strange either, but when he was physically smaller it seemed to help the effect. He nodded at her question, he figured he was alright.

He touched his throat to signify he couldn't speak. He wasn't ignoring her or anything.

Then Yoite considered a moment and waved, hello Madoka.

".. hi?"

Okay, she at least grasped that part. And she knows it means they're having contact right now, so that at least solves one problem here. Though the contact is a little awkward, being done in this charades-like manner.

Especially since Madoka isn't quite smart enough to fully figure out what's going on here yet.

"Does.. your throat hurt? You can't talk?" See, that part she does understand, but she isn't aware at all whether he recognizes her or not.

Yoite shook his head at the first question but nodded at the second. He wasn't in pain, he just couldn't speak, and based on his age, hadn't already for a year.

But he did offer her a small smile, he was glad she was speaking to him.

Madoka isn't too sure how to feel about the response. On one hand, she feels bad at Yoite not even being able to talk.. But on the other hand, it's at least a good thing that the other isn't in pain, right?

And that the other is smiling at her like this. Yoite's smile always makes her heart flutter, exactly because she wants the poor, surly guy to be able to be happy, even with all the awful circumstances it sounded like he's been in.

"Ah, I'm sorry.. It must be hard.." She says, of course immediately sympathetic. "I can stick around though, if you want! I can help talk to people for you?" Be a Yoite translator. Even though obviously even Madoka herself can't always be sure of what he's thinking or wanting to say.. "O-Or we can eat something! Are you hungry? I can make something yummy for us to share!"

At the very least so Yoite won't be looking so sad all by himself. If her being around him makes him smile even a little, then Madoka is darn well determined to stick around for a bit.

He nodded his agreement with her plan. He wouldn't be able to explain his state at all until he was back to normal and speaking, at least, unless he was given something to write with but it meant that he could help her.

Yoite got up and gestured towards the kitchen, maybe they could do something together? Although he didn't know what he was doing, so hopefully she did, unless they were going to make sandwiches. That he knew about.

"Okay!"

Despite this conversation sounding rather one-sided, with Madoka doing all the talking, she still can't help but reply to him out loud - saying that 'okay' even as she's nodding. Thankfully it's an easy enough gesture to understand. They're going to the kitchen together. That's why he got up, isn't it?

So she starts walking.

"I wonder if there's a way to tell me what you feel like having.." She wonders - mostly to herself, really. Communicating with someone when they can't seem to talk is pretty hard. It's not something she's had to deal with before often. "Maybe you can grab some ingredients and show me that way..?"

She had wanted to make things for other people right? And it seemed like she was leaving it up to him, so he would go with what he knew.

Yoite selected a loaf of bread and then considered, what could they put on the sanwiches?

He gestured at the shelf and then shrugged. Would she like to pick something?
