Who: Danny and Anyone
Where: Gym Car
When: Jelly 29
What: Just hanging out practicing your ghost powers. As you do.
There were a lot of things Danny liked about his life here on the train. No ghosts to fight, no ghost hunters hunting him, no classes to worry about failing because he was too busy fighting ghosts and avoiding hunters....
The lack of space wasn't one of them. Flying was one of his favorite things about his powers, and there really wasn't anywhere here that he could push himself into any kind of speed. It really sucked on the days he was feeling a little restless.
Which may explain why he was currently flying laps around the ceiling of the gym car. Upside down.

“Uh. Hi there.”

"You're Ken, right?"

It’s a guess, but he’s trying.

"Oh, yeah. It's me. I guess I don't usually look like this back in the room. All the glowing kind of freaks people out sometimes, you know?"

"Eh, I don't really know what you mean. But most people here have been pretty chill about weird things. Well, my weird ghost things at least."

"That's... not great. It doesn't actually hurt you though, right?"

"Next you'll be doing laps backwards. Or try for backwards AND upside down."
no subject
Yup, back to normal.

"There really isn't much space here. Maybe practicing something would be better?"

"Yeah... I still kind of suck at that. Maybe working on shields? I've been trying to get mine to stay around for more than a few seconds."

"I've just been making one and trying to see how long I can hold it."

This scene that she's walked into, thankfully, does not spark any competition in her. Instead she watches the glowing dude zoom around the ceiling with some mixture of curiosity and bewilderment.
"Like a moth around a ceiling light..." she says under her breath.
no subject
"Sorry, am I bugging you?"
no subject
"Ha ha," she responds dryly. "Very funny."
That said, Dairine wasn't all that bothered by his zooming or admittedly terrible humor, even with her snark. She's far more curious. "What are you doing up there anyway?"

Especially with the way he's glowing. Dairine doesn't seem all that shocked by this little detail, which isn't so surprising if you know her. Hardly the strangest thing she's seen in her line of work.
Plus, there's those castle memories. But she's not about to bring those up off the bat, not when it doesn't look like he remembers her.
"But the greenhouse and garden carriages would at least feel a bit more like flying outdoors. They might even be taller."

Even months of acceptance by everyone he'd met on the train hadn't been enough to rid Danny of the assumption that most people found him just a little freakish. He didn't really need to advertise it.
