Kazoo 3 - Rabbit Time
Who: WangJi and open!
Where: Throughout the train
When: Morning of Kazoo 3
What: WangJi is walking his rabbit... or the rabbit is taking him on a walk. Come say hello
Warnings: None at the moment
WangJi had awoken earlier than normal and today was unable to go back to sleep. So he had gotten up so as not to disturb his cabinmates and gone to the greenhouse carriage to visit his rabbits. Little Radish had been sound asleep when he had arrived, but Little Carrot had been awake and ready to see him.
So today WangJi let the rabbit out to play and the rabbit started wandering, heading towards different carriages of the train. WangJi followed along behind the small black rabbit at a pace that matched how fast his rabbit was moving.
"Where do you wish to go?" he asked his rabbit after it had traveled from the greenhouse car, exploring through the train with WangJi's guidance to ensure it was safe. "Are you hoping to find the kitchen?"
The black rabbit sat up, looking around before beginning to walk again, WangJi following. He was completely losing track of time, but that was fine with him.

Meanwhile, Ken is thinking thinky thoughts.
"We visit all kinds of crises, and split our numbers for efficiency." Ken looks down at his hoodie. If he has to be perfectly honest, he....doesn't care for this color. He hadn't realized he had color preferences until he got here. Now he's discovered his proclivity is for muted shades. Everyone else being in brightly-colored clothing helps, but he's still felt exposed.
But it has a significance. He has been chosen for orange. "Investigations, huh..."
no subject
He nodded. "There are those who change teams if another team's assignment suits them better. So you are free to do that as well if a different one appeals to you."
no subject
Ken dwells on this a little more, then smiles to himself. "I'm glad."
He may not have realized he's said that out loud. There is a lot going on, after all, between the contents of his mind and the sight of Wormmon trying to crawl away quickly while checking back over his shoulder to see how well he's doing.
no subject
WangJi also looked down at the animals, watching Little Carrot's antics and Wormmon crawling away. Finally, Little Carrot came over and gently bopped Wormmon on the head with a paw.
no subject
WangJi's reminder that all the Voidtreckers support each other has Ken realizing just how many people get deployed to assist with these endeavors. It's impressive.
Wormmon covers his head with his top claws. "Hee hee! You got me!"
no subject
The train pulled us back and took off."
Little Carrot did a little victory hop then practically flopped down so he was leaning against Wormmon. They are friends now.
no subject
The story of the aborted mission turns Ken's expression reflective. They'd had to help with an entire evacuation....And they weren't enough. Is he going to be able to assist against trouble of that scale -
Hold up.
"Pulled you back?"
no subject
"Yes, the train pulled us back. We did not have a choice in returning."
no subject
"That's almost like it rescued you." Perhaps he needs to reevaluate just how active the forces selecting and summoning them are.
no subject
"Yes, it did. Many were upset that we were unable to save the world."
no subject
"The train prioritized the passengers' safety...." Or perhaps made the decision itself that the situation was untenable. "Saving each world no matter what isn't the goal. It's after something bigger."
But what? Ken doesn't know. He hasn't got enough to work with yet. He purses his lips, then realizes what he's been doing.
"...I beg your pardon. You were going on a walk, and I just...."
Started trying to deduce the motives of a flying interdimensional steam engine. Whoops.
no subject
"It did. We were more important to save than that planet. It is similar to the fact that we cannot die."
That was odd to him, but it was a blessing at the same time. Not that he was going to deliberately go out and try to get himself killed.
"It is fine. They are having fun."
no subject
But it's capable of pulling so many people. If it were just after a goal - is this specific combination of people that important? Why them, then? What can Ken and only Ken, this Ichijouji Ken, contribute to this train.....?
"Why would it....to that extent...."
"Ken-chan is smart," Wormmon informs Little Carrot. This fact is crucial. "He thinks lots of things I don't understand."
no subject
Little Carrot, if he had understood, likely would have commented about WangJi... at least that he was tall enough to get him and his brother food. Since he couldn't really respond even if he did, he wiggled his nose at Wormmon, ears up as he listened intently, at least looking like he was hanging on every word.
"It is strange. There's clearly something the train wants, but figuring out what it is... that's the hard part."
no subject
Wormmon looks back at Little Carrot too and giggles: see? See?????? He has full confidence that his new friend has fully internalized the glory and wonder of Ken-chan now.
no subject
Yep, Little Carrot did seem to understand or at least he acted like he did. His nose wiggled, looking between Wormmon and the others.
no subject
"....May I ask one more thing?"
Oh, that is an interesting thing Little Carrot's nose is doing. Wormmon wonders if he can do it too. He tries.
And sneezes. Nope. This does not work with mandibles.
no subject
Little Carrot jumped when Wormmon sneezed, but then gave him a nuzzle like he was worried about him. No being sick.
no subject
Ken feels a bit self-conscious (and also self-centered) asking this, but so many people have taken the time for him lately on the train, and WangJi has been especially open with him. So perhaps this is okay to say.
"Why would you take so much time for me?"
no subject
"We are all here together. It does not benefit anyone to keep secrets. We should look out for each other and help others learn."
no subject
But they...don't need one. Because no matter who he is, he's a passenger on this train. And that means they all need to take care of each other.
He's not alone.
"I'm grateful," he tells WangJi. "Thanks for letting Wormmon play...with..."
Wormmon.
Wormmon, are you so warm and fuzzy and comfy that you fell asleep on the bun. Are you whistling a nasal, cute, happy snore.
Wormmon.
no subject
He glanced over at them and spotted Wormmon just sleeping on top of Little Carrot. The rabbit didn't seem to mind at least having a non-traditional blanket, still laying there as though keeping watch. Rabbits were used to random piles for sleeping.
no subject
He almost looks like he's keeping watch over Wormmon, doesn't he? Even everyone's companions treasure each other on this train. And playing with him had made Wormmon so happy.
This is, Ken decides, a place absolutely worth protecting. Regardless of the ultimate goal of their mission, he wants to make the Voidtrecker Express's passengers as happy as they make him. He has discovered that he likes doing things like that.
no subject
Yes, WangJi would say that he was looking out for Wormmon. That was exactly what rabbits did when they were with their families. Make sure everyone was safe especially when someone was not as strong. Wormmon was slower so he had to look after him.
"Wormmon should meet Little Radish as well."
no subject
Two beings, who form friendships just with Wormmon. Because they like Wormmon, for who he is.
Ken's smile softens even further. "That'd be nice."
Wormmon's body softly rises and falls in his nap, revealing the bizarre fact that he is a bug with lungs(?). Digimon!
(no subject)
if wormmon were awake for this he might faint from joy
