Kazoo 19 Red Meeting [open]
Who: Red Team, people Who Are Basically In Red Team Let's Be Honest, people who are dating a Red Team member (god im so sorry), etc.
Where: Training Gym
When: Month Kazoo, Day 19. After lunch.
What: It's the monthly red team meeting! This is a free-for-all mingle to have everyone check in and get an idea of what everyone else can do. Prompts will involve reviewing the last mission, giving information, and introducing new characters. "but elle, my character wouldn't attend the meeting!" lightning's not their mom they can skive if they want.
Warnings: will be added if necessary
Sometimes Lightning wishes some of the others who've left were still here to handle things. It's what she'd wanted, back when Tony and the others had stepped in: someone to cut away the irritating chaff and give her something to aim at. To make things less complicated.
Now that someone is her, and it means she has to get over herself. No room for hesitation. And so, as lunchtime is winding down, the clink of plates and empty glasses starting to drown out the sounds of a meal, she taps her knife against her own glass for attention. It's not an unfamiliar announcement, at least.
"Red meeting in the training gym in fifteen minutes. Set your SCAs if you think you'll be late. Anyone else... Come along if you want. It's mission talk, more or less."
---
Even the format of the meeting is familiar. It's worked so far, even if most of the faces have changed since the last time. Odin stands sentinel, the horned crest of his helmet not quite brushing the lights of the carriage, and does little other than shift occasionally. With him not exerting himself, the drain on her eidolith is just lessened enough that she can keep him manifested for long enough to use him as a training dummy.
"Icebreaker time. Last time I asked how you'd take this guy out. This time's the same, except you can't hit her." Her being Buttercup, a scowling twelve-year-old, looking small beside Odin.
The kid clears her throat, and Lightning sighs. "Right. You tell me a way that hits her, she gets a free hit back. A real one."
Everyone gets a turn to answer or discuss, though she doesn't chase anyone not wearing red for a response.
---
While she's mostly happy to let people discuss what they want, she brings several issues up in the course of the meeting:
Several team members overexerted themselves or panicked in the recent mission, and endangered themselves and others. Light doesn't call people out by name, but she definitely makes eye contact with several people around the room. She gets it, she says, but if there's something like that that's gonna keep happening, she wants people to at least tell someone. If it's a fear, a memory, an injury... It doesn't have to be her. Just someone they trust. Preferably as soon as possible.
People are making use of supplies, which is good. She reiterates an offer to help purchase anything important passengers might need for missions, whether components or weaponry, and has a supply list on-hand for passengers to read through. There are weapons and gear available, and she'll fetch anything they might want to try.
[ OOC: Post your own toplevels with new discussion topics! Mingle all you like, I'll have Lightning moderate but this is a discussion for everyone.

Topic: Death wants to keep the Red Team alive
[ He lifts his arm with the manadrive. It's from Lightning's world, and Ryo had purchased one for him. His voice, once steady, grows a little nervous when he switches to talk about something going against his duty of death. ]
I'm going to be helping the healers out with this. Especially after the last mission. So... please don't be afraid if I approach.
[ And if someone wants to talk to Thanatos about something else, feel free to do so here. ]
no subject
[That is 100% his luck. He gestures to the mana drive.]
I don't think that stuff will work on me so if something happens I guess I tough it out.
[Worse comes to worse? He'll be very upset with a second death but, y'know, he'll take it over excruciating pain.]
no subject
What makes you say that? I didn't expect life magic to work on me, but it did.
no subject
[He cracks his knuckles absently. Not threateningly, he just has stupid long fingers because every part of him is lanky and he moves around a lot.]
I'll just be one of the guys that needs a medkit. I'll work through it from there.
no subject
Then I will avoid using this on you. Causing people harm isn't want I intend.
no subject
[He grins because he's like that.]
only partially a gagtag
Look. Sometimes you have to take punitive measures.
To be fair, afterwards the donut hole takes a clearly artificial arc to twist around and hover obligingly near Murphy's shoulder so he can stuff it in his face, but it's the impact that counts.]
lol
I... Yes. Thank you.
[ ... Huh? ]
no subject
[A thought Ghost's direction. You are a little shit. But how the hell are you doing that? I'll ask in a few, hold on.]
[All this is thought when Murphy eats the mysteriously floating donut hole. He holds a finger up. Give him a second! Mouth is full. Swallow? Okay, we're good.]
By the way, your hair looks great. I have to throw that out there.
no subject
[ It's not even like he's done anything different with it.
Also, where did that tiny pastry come from? Why is it floating? Blood and darkness, what is going on during this meeting? ]
no subject
[You expect Death to be all... well, more like him, at best. Which is sort of gritty not ripped and sporty. But that's all beside the point 'cause the pastry was weird as fuck.]
I'm gonna go chat up my cell phone ventriloquist buddy over there. Good to finally meet you face to face. I thought I would have more to say if we ever talked but turns out your brain just empties when you meet someone famous.
So I'll see you later.
[And off Murphy goes to be whatever he is at someone else.]
no subject
And Chthonic gods might have a whole aesthetic going on, but Thanatos didn't think he classified as working a look. Or... Thanatos is thinking he's missing something here.
(He's used to a different kind of flirting with Death.) ]
My hair's like this because it got in the way when it was long...
[ He might have shot Mort a confused glance. Mort squeaks his version of "I don't know." ]
