Ain't no party like a kigurumi party
Who: The Yu-Gi-Oh! Crew
Where: Gaming Carriage
When: Quicksand, Day 20
What: A pyjama party or more specifically a kigurumi party
Warnings: Not anything really.
Yugi figured it would be nice to have a little bit of fun and relax for a change and after remembering of a moment when he was relaxed it gave him an idea. So platform day he had managed to buy something with the idea of using them to just have fun with those he was close to.
So he had set out to put the package in the gaming carriage, figuring this place was the best place to be as there was enough to do. Soon he placed the kigurumi he had brought down along with a note to each of thier cabins minus Kaiba who most likely got the message in person.
The note along with the kigurumi states: 'I hope you will join me in the gaming carriage for a fun evening. Wear what is provided.'
Yugi himself was already there dressed and making sure there was enough snacks that he made and such while waiting. He just hoped this went the way he hoped it would.

.. but she was expected to wear the pajamas there? Was she going to be the only girl? Not that it super mattered but it triggered some of her more self-conscious concerns. So she decided to bring the new outfit with her and change in a car nearer the party as to limit her time out in the view of all the passengers. Once that was completed she edged cautiously into the gaming car, hoping she didn't get the time wrong, or she didn't look too silly... or that she wasn't the only one partipating.
"H-hey... there. Is anyone here already?"
Her voice was a little thready and soft but once her nerves were squashed it would be fine. She still wondered how Yugi had even found a wolpertinger themed onesie complete with little blue wings and tail.
[ooc: Ha ha, forgive my hastily editted referenced, and pretend that's not a hoodie.]

"Been a while. How are you holding up?"
no subject
"Oh, you know.. I'm doing alight. I guess." That wasn't entirely true. Recently, she had been spending more time with her roommates and getting to know them then in the next moment she'd been back home and learned some disturbing information. Then to make it worse one of her roommates really disappeared after helping to guide Silvia back to the train. So, a lot had happened in that interim. "What about you?"
Wait.
How had Yugi gotten Kaiba to wear a kigurumi in the first place?! As if noticing his attire for the first time, she couldn't help glancing back, this time taking in the outfit.

It's been a rough few months (and will only keep getting rougher!) He notices her stare about then and shuffles awkwardly.
"I think that's why Yugi wanted to do this. To remind us of a time that was simpler and happier."
no subject
"Blue-Eyes, right? Your Ace monster." Trying to lighten things up. "I didn't even know they made one of those."
no subject
"I wouldn't have approved it. Must be the Industrial Illusions end of the licensing deal. Pegasus and his cartoons..."
Darkness clouds his face, but only briefly. "But my dragon's been my guide for years. What's special about your monster?"
He's asking curiously, not snarkily. Don't worry.
no subject
You misspelled "very" for "very cute"."Now that is plausible." Chuckling a bit herself behind a raised paw. "Although I wouldn't say no to a few stuffed dragons myself." Her tone tilting up as if she was hinting that a certain ceo should set that in motion if he ever got a chance.
"My monster?" She repeated dumbly as the question catches her off guard. "I guess.. you wouldn't know it since I don't think we've ever played a duel since I got my deck back but Wolpertinger has been invaluable to me for a while." Though she would have thought Wingweaver a better choice if the train was going for most impactful in her life... but maybe it wasn't based on that alone. "He might look weaker on cardstock but he has a wicked effect and when you combine it with other cards for support..." She trailed off when she realized she was going off on a tangent.
".. Besides, I mean.. I guess just looking at it's art can bring a smile to my face. You know, when you need a quick mood boost." Man, this sounded lame didn't it?
no subject
But he listens to the answer with a soft expression. "Mm. I think most duelists feel that when they choose an ace monster. A powerful symbol of success, protection...and I suppose some must have their cute charms."
Says the man who's brought a clearly manly and dignified Blue Eyes plush to this meeting. It's sitting on the chair behind him.
no subject
Ok, but the cute charm thing, prompts a sheepish grin and the aforementioned tug on one of her fake ears. "Duelists do get invested in their decks, and their card choices. That's for sure." It was weird but when Kaiba was speaking specifically of ace monsters, Silvia couldn't help but think of Wolpertinger's ego inflating. Not that she had really assigned that role to any of her cards- not really. They were all important so how could you pick one?
It takes her a while to noticed the plush, she's so focused on the life sized blue eyes she's talking to; ha ha, or at least the man in the Blue-Eyes Pjs.

"I was already here setting everything up. Welcome." He said with a smile "Glad to see you wore what I left." He added, soon ajusting the hood of his Dark Magician kigrumi
no subject
Maybe if she did think of it more as cosplay and less like pjs.. she could get more into a role and relax but Wolpertingers tended to be elusive creatures anyway so maybe it was fitting that she was hesitant.
"Who all is coming?" Though she could guess, she made some small talk as she checked out the setup.
no subject
He just wanted a time where he didn't have to think much.
Soon he was tugging on his hood, a small chuckle passing by his lips.
"You would expect me to pick Kuriboh or something, but sometimes you just gotta go for something different and works with my hair. As for who it's Seto, Katsuya and Bakura"
no subject
"I wasn't going to say that," She swiftly argued waving a hand before her, though she might have just outed herself. Kuriboh was practically Yugi's brand on the train so she might have vaguely wondered why he went spellcaster instead. "It would be hard to accommodate that coif in most hoods." Which was true. Unsurprisingly, the guest list that followed consisted of all guys. That was fine, and she knew most of them well but.. she definitely felt like the odd one out. At least none of the games could be turned into girls vs boys since it wasn't an even split!
Still, for a moment she envisioned her versus literal gaming legends.. all by her self in her onesie. It was a bit intimidating.
"What game do you think we should start with?" Moving over to the stack of boardgames available. Actually playing a game was different than anticipating it, and she did love playing games herself.

Soon he crossed his arms over his chest, he could think of a few but he had to figure out things like team for the most part.
"Well I know later team games will be a thing, but don't worry about that I will try and make things as even as possible, which probably means I'll always be on the opposite team to Seto at least." Because that did make it the most fair and besides as much as he loved him... he also enjoyed having a bit of a competition with him now and again.
no subject
"You sure that's wise?" Seeing an opportunity to gently tease him. "I wouldn't want to be partially responsibly for encouraging marital discord." Leaning to one side she almost elbowed him to reassure him that it was a joke but thought better of it. Instead she just brightened her smile. "Though I guess you two are used to playing on opposite sides of the field." They likely appreciated the challenge too.
"Don't go underestimating the rest of us though." Completed with a wink.
no subject
"But of course I won't underestimate anyone. I'm just going to enjoy any game."
no subject
"No, you wouldn't." She agreed easily. "It was very sweet of you to arrange all this, thank you."

To the surprise of no one, he is still adjusting to the train officially assigning him 'Doggo'.
But hey.
Fortunately, a kigurumi is nothing if not the ultimate equalizer. Not only does it hide everyone's figure, but no one can judge if they too are wearing cute animal PJs.
"Hoh, y' got a neat one tho' huh...some kinda...angel bunny?"
Not quite buddy.
no subject
Her shoulders started to relax, the tension lessening since she was not the only one in animal pjs- however when he described hers as an "angel bunny" she looked downward and nervously laughed.
"It's a wolpertinger actually.. but.. hey.. yeah.. I guess.. it is .. kinda.. an angel bunny..." Let's face it, part of the reason she had the card in her deck was because the artwork was adorable which is how it had caught her eye in the first place. "In.. folklore they're not always as cute though and they have fangs.. and...the mixed animal features can vary." So what was the train saying about her in bringing in this kigurumi? That she was all kinds of messed up?
She wasn't sure why she was rambling like this- like somehow he was trying to convince him that either her or her monster could be fiercer than they appeared? Once she thought about it she was able to silence herself and looked to the games set out to have something to focus on.
"Kind of a random sort of party isn't it?"
no subject
He tried. "Nyhh, I mean I guess I can't deny th' look 'f th' outfit anyway. I guess it's got antlers too huh?" Well now he just has to ask.
"'F it's got rabbit stuff an' birds an' th' like, how come it's called that?"
So Katsuya asks, as if he hasn't butchered the pronunciation. Ah, well. Ultimately the blond just shrugs and grins. "Yeah, tell me abou' it..! I think it was Yugi's idea, but hey, I'll take it! We need a break~!"
no subject
At their mention, Silvia reached up to touch one of the protrusions. "Yes, the card has antlers too." Casually mentioning the duel monsters card this particular ensemble was based on.
"Mm, I think it's a German word so I'm not really sure how it breaks down." That wasn't a language she had a great grasp of though if she could learn all the various languages in the world she would.
"Yeah, leave it to Yugi to bring everyone together." Said with a fond smile. "It should be a fun evening. Have you had a chance to check out the snacks?"
no subject
He's of course already forgotten what languages he said he knew. Whoops! The snacks, though, are a welcome distraction that immediately has the blond grin and look around the room. "Oh shit, they brought more snacks..!? I thought I saw a bowl earlier, but th' more th' merrier..!"
A statement meant for people, but hey! He can repurpose it!
no subject
"More snacks?" Does that mean he downed what was available before? Ah- what Silvia wouldn't give to have that kind of metabolism.
"They must have, because I'm sure there's still some over on that table by the consoles."
no subject
He is trying, and failing, to not think about Necrofear.
But, that said- he blinks. "Ah yeah y' wouldn't...Otogi's from Domino, kinda. Moved there in our second year, used t' travel around w'th his dad. Picked up a bunch 'f crap, not that y'd know it unless y' got him talking..!" he laughs, perhaps at an inside joke more than what he actually said.
"Heheeee...great though! More fuel for th' gamin'..! Y' lookin' t' play anythin'?" Katsuya asks, looking back to Silvia.
no subject
"Mm, that makes sense. I didn't get to spend much time in Domino before coming here." At the words traveling around with his dad she grew silent and found a piece of the floor to stare at. It brought back memories of her childhood when she used to do the same. If only she had still been traveling with her father, then she would know where he was.. or what happened to him. The laughter jarred her out of her thoughts and she tried to laugh along with him but it was not genuine or with as much strength. "Maybe I would have met him later."
"Yes, I'm up for whatever anyone else wants to play." She thinks. "I've tried some of these before but not with a group, so it'll be nice having more players."
