Day 19 - Time for a Wedding
Who: Lan WangJi, Wei WuXian and anyone else who wants to attend!
Where: Garden carriage and then gym car
When: Day 19 of Egret
What: Wedding! Wedding reception and lots of food.
Warnings: Pretty much up in the air. But there will likely a lot of PDA's from the wedding couple during the reception... because that's how they roll
Finally, it was Day 19, the day that WangJi and WuXian had chosen for their wedding.
Ceremony
Inside the garden, everything had been decorated in red and gold, traditional colors for a wedding in China. There were flowers and a low table set up.
As the ceremony begins, Lan WangJi and Wei WuXian enter with Lan Sizhui and Wen Qing as their attendants. The wedding clothes for WangJi and WuXian are also red, with designs of forest animals in the designs sewn in, including frogs and rabbits. All of this was courtesy of their friendly neighborhood spider. WuXian was also wearing a red veil over his hair and face. Even WangJi’s ever-present forehead ribbon was red today instead of white.
As the pair approached the table, WuXian on one side and WangJi on the other, they alternated bowing to each other three times before kneeling. With the help of their attendants, they each drank a cup of tea, which they used their long sleeves as though hiding that they were doing so behind them. Once they had put the cups down, WangJi reached up, pushing the veil back so that he could see WuXian’s face before removing the forehead ribbon he’d been wearing. Taking WuXian’s hand, he used to make kind of a loose knot between their two wrists, a Gusu Lan symbol that WuXian was his fated partner. Then as they carefully stood, WangJi leaned in to kiss WuXian before they both bowed to their attendants, thanks for assisting them and being there for them.
Reception
Following the wedding ceremony itself, the party then moved to the gym car, where the reception and feast were being held. Like the decorations for the wedding, it was also a lot of red and gold. To those who didn’t know beforehand, it would likely be obvious that red and gold here very important.
Lots of food cooked by wonderful volunteers from the train. Of course, there had to be dessert, which was the cake baked by the couple’s son, Lan Sizhui.
As the wedding couple, they were rather happily seated together of course. WangJi had since replaced the forehead ribbon on his head, but there was a high likelihood that sometime during the party WuXian was going to end up wearing it around his wrist.
[ooc: Mingle post! Feel free to make your own top levels and tag around and have fun. Also, in the picture, ignore the hat for WangJi’s robes. He’s not wearing a hat]

Still, his mind always returned to the man in his arms. He was forever grateful Ignis had come back. So when those emerald eyes were looking at him, he smirked and answered, "How about tomorrow?"
no subject
He opted for the latter.
"Darling, weddings take time to plan. We don't even have anyone to marry us and with you being the leader of the train, you will be expected to do as this newlywed couple is and invite everyone."
no subject
"Well, if we're doing it just because others expect us to, then I will marry you tomorrow in the luggage car. However, if you want a party, then my love is getting a party. Would you accept a king marrying us?" He paused briefly, realizing who Ignis was going to think that comment was for. "Not Noct. That poor boy has enough on his plate."
no subject
A king but not Noct..oh.
So he waited a few moments as they danced to figure out what to say. He knew he was tempting fate here, but he smiled. "Darling, the passengers would be scandalized that they missed out on your wedding vows. That is unless you're planning on saying them twice?"
no subject
"You're missing my point. It's not a question of who can attend, it's who am I doing it for. I'll gladly have us a wedding but it won't be because of anyone else but you. I don't care what they want, I care what you want. For you, I'll have a wedding and we'll invite everyone." No one was going to make Tony do anything. If it were an obligation, Tony would balk at it. If it were a celebration they wanted to do and share with others, then he'd gladly do it. Don't forget who has issues with authority here. "How much time would you like to plan?"
no subject
His hands reached to the front of Tony's shirt and clutched at the fabric there, hesitantly looking at the other man when he spoke. "I've always told you from day one, that the only thing I want is you. But I would think you should have a large wedding this time where everyone can relax have a good time." He recalled the other's story about being laid up and a small wedding the last time he married. That wasn't who Tony was because he absolutely thrived in a crowd and played his part so very well.
It wasn't for Ignis personally as he lowered his head lost in thought momentarily. He himself would love a small candlelit heartfelt ceremony surrounded by the Crownsguard, Noct of course and Madoka, Peter, Joss and Buttercup. Tony's extended family included the elves and Evie and Reigen would probably give them guff to no end if none of them attended or were invited so there was that too. This was important, much as it would be if a king got married. Tony would need to do this for the people of the train, the council and everyone else. He was the leader and needed to set the example, just as a king would. And so the advisor kept quiet about what he personally wanted other than what he'd already said.
So emerald eyes searched brown as if he could find an answer there. "We've already had our mission and we would have one again..so I'm not sure how soon you're looking to exchange vows."
no subject
Tony put a hand over Ignis' on his chest. He didn't take his eyes off the green pair looking back at him. He listened hearing the offer and the spirit it was being given. He smiled at that and reached out to brush his thumb along Ignis' cheek. "Would you be happy with a large one too? I don't want you to be doing it just for me. Though.. it would be nice to include everyone like this ceremony did."
He thought for a few moments on a timeline. He hadn't picked a specific date, but now as he looked at his fiance's face, he could see how much that was desperately wanted. "Can you get all your preparations done in a month?"
no subject
It was still a strange thought at times to even be entertaining the idea of getting married. "And we have to find Madoka the prettiest pink gown of course." He didn't want to lie to Tony because it wasn't a good foundation for a marriage. But the thought of seeing everyone else enjoy themselves would be a way he could deal with the rest. He of course knew very well of formalities and traditions and expectations. A big wedding would naturally be expected.
Ignis worked best with timelines and deadlines so he could do what he needed to. And with the month suggested, he looked hesitantly at his fiancee. "So you mean schedule it soon after the the next mission and arrivals?"
If that was so, they had work to do.
