Day 19 - Time for a Wedding
Who: Lan WangJi, Wei WuXian and anyone else who wants to attend!
Where: Garden carriage and then gym car
When: Day 19 of Egret
What: Wedding! Wedding reception and lots of food.
Warnings: Pretty much up in the air. But there will likely a lot of PDA's from the wedding couple during the reception... because that's how they roll
Finally, it was Day 19, the day that WangJi and WuXian had chosen for their wedding.
Ceremony
Inside the garden, everything had been decorated in red and gold, traditional colors for a wedding in China. There were flowers and a low table set up.
As the ceremony begins, Lan WangJi and Wei WuXian enter with Lan Sizhui and Wen Qing as their attendants. The wedding clothes for WangJi and WuXian are also red, with designs of forest animals in the designs sewn in, including frogs and rabbits. All of this was courtesy of their friendly neighborhood spider. WuXian was also wearing a red veil over his hair and face. Even WangJi’s ever-present forehead ribbon was red today instead of white.
As the pair approached the table, WuXian on one side and WangJi on the other, they alternated bowing to each other three times before kneeling. With the help of their attendants, they each drank a cup of tea, which they used their long sleeves as though hiding that they were doing so behind them. Once they had put the cups down, WangJi reached up, pushing the veil back so that he could see WuXian’s face before removing the forehead ribbon he’d been wearing. Taking WuXian’s hand, he used to make kind of a loose knot between their two wrists, a Gusu Lan symbol that WuXian was his fated partner. Then as they carefully stood, WangJi leaned in to kiss WuXian before they both bowed to their attendants, thanks for assisting them and being there for them.
Reception
Following the wedding ceremony itself, the party then moved to the gym car, where the reception and feast were being held. Like the decorations for the wedding, it was also a lot of red and gold. To those who didn’t know beforehand, it would likely be obvious that red and gold here very important.
Lots of food cooked by wonderful volunteers from the train. Of course, there had to be dessert, which was the cake baked by the couple’s son, Lan Sizhui.
As the wedding couple, they were rather happily seated together of course. WangJi had since replaced the forehead ribbon on his head, but there was a high likelihood that sometime during the party WuXian was going to end up wearing it around his wrist.
[ooc: Mingle post! Feel free to make your own top levels and tag around and have fun. Also, in the picture, ignore the hat for WangJi’s robes. He’s not wearing a hat]

He knew Ignis enjoyed being formal, but he also liked the idea they were making a statement too. They did have an election coming up, after all. It wasn't public yet, but there had been conversations about it among the council lately.
"Certainly, thank you. I also wanted to see if you were going to be playing for us again. The music you performed at the ceremony was perfection."

"I most certainly do have good taste." Ignis sniffed, as if his feathers were ruffled by the comment. They weren't because his reply was directed right at his taste in having chosen Tony. The whispers of the reelection were a little nerve wracking and a little exciting all at the same time.
"You're quite welcome and thank you most kindly for the compliment in return." Ignis replied with a genuine smile on his face at Curufin. He liked the outfits really and when he showed both to Tony trying to get his decision on which he should wear, Tony had surprisingly chosen the other outfit that Ignis was trying to decide on. So it all worked out really.
"I can accompany you." Ignis offered to the elf, not wanting to overburden the man in carrying more than was fair. But he looked back at his fiancee and smiled as the compliment to the flute playing came out. With a nod the green eyes returned to Curufin. "Yes, provided you're up for it."
Because one has to have manners and not try to be impolite or inconvenience someone of course.

He was an avid musician, though he would never be the Bard his brother Maglor was. He was delighted with Tony's compliment, and his face showed it. "Thanks, Tony!"
He chuckled when Ignis sniffed and affirmed his own good taste. Curufin got the joke. And he certainly agreed that Ignis had good taste if he had chosen Tony. Besides, Tony had good taste in that he had chosen Ignis. Curufin smiled back at Ignis.
"Thanks, I'll accept your help, Ignis, with carrying the glasses for of wine -- or whatever you two are drinking. And yes, I will be playing again. I was just taking a break to socialize, snack, and nab my share of the alcohol before it's all gone. Also, to make some more notes on my playlist." He pulled a paper out of his breast pocket; gave it a quick once-over; made a fake-critical, humorous face; and stuffed it back in his pocket.
Then he grinned at the two of them again and headed for the makeshift bar, the drinks table.

He grinned as the other two planned to get drinks, however, he did have to add one small comment. "There's Elven beer if you'd like over there. I told May not to let any of the kids have it."
no subject
"Elven beer? My goodness, they really went all out to please the guests! I used to do some brewing when I lived in my own world, but really, I liked the hard stuff best, so my focus was on distilling." You haven't gotten drunk until you're been drunk on East Beleriand moonshine. "But if there's Elven beer here, I won't turn it down! Though the kids definitely should not drink it. It has hallucinogenic properties." Grin.
And he smiled at Ignis and led the way to the bar.

Green eyes looked at Tony when he spoke about planning it and he had no idea about elven beer, but when Curufin piped up about it, he had to make sure he only had a sip or Tony would be more than likely carting his ass out of here.
Hallucinogenic properties..nope, not even having a sip.
Nodding to the elf, and with a last look at Tony, Ignis headed out.
You two wanna wrap this one?
When they got to the bar, Curufin grabbed a glass of red wine, a bottle of Elven beer, and then watched with curiosity to see what Ignis was going to choose for himself and for Tony. He'd propose a toast when they got back.
Sure
As the evening went on, Tony and Ignis danced when Curufin played. The older man even stole a dance with the Elf himself when someone else took over. For two people starting to get in the wedding mood, this whole night only reinforced that notion.
