Who: Lan WangJi, Wei WuXian and anyone else who wants to attend!
Where: Garden carriage and then gym car
When: Day 19 of Egret
What: Wedding! Wedding reception and lots of food.
Warnings: Pretty much up in the air. But there will likely a lot of PDA's from the wedding couple during the reception... because that's how they roll

Finally, it was Day 19, the day that WangJi and WuXian had chosen for their wedding.

Ceremony
Inside the garden, everything had been decorated in red and gold, traditional colors for a wedding in China. There were flowers and a low table set up.

As the ceremony begins, Lan WangJi and Wei WuXian enter with Lan Sizhui and Wen Qing as their attendants. The wedding clothes for WangJi and WuXian are also red, with designs of forest animals in the designs sewn in, including frogs and rabbits. All of this was courtesy of their friendly neighborhood spider. WuXian was also wearing a red veil over his hair and face. Even WangJi’s ever-present forehead ribbon was red today instead of white.

As the pair approached the table, WuXian on one side and WangJi on the other, they alternated bowing to each other three times before kneeling. With the help of their attendants, they each drank a cup of tea, which they used their long sleeves as though hiding that they were doing so behind them. Once they had put the cups down, WangJi reached up, pushing the veil back so that he could see WuXian’s face before removing the forehead ribbon he’d been wearing. Taking WuXian’s hand, he used to make kind of a loose knot between their two wrists, a Gusu Lan symbol that WuXian was his fated partner. Then as they carefully stood, WangJi leaned in to kiss WuXian before they both bowed to their attendants, thanks for assisting them and being there for them.

Reception
Following the wedding ceremony itself, the party then moved to the gym car, where the reception and feast were being held. Like the decorations for the wedding, it was also a lot of red and gold. To those who didn’t know beforehand, it would likely be obvious that red and gold here very important.

Lots of food cooked by wonderful volunteers from the train. Of course, there had to be dessert, which was the cake baked by the couple’s son, Lan Sizhui.

As the wedding couple, they were rather happily seated together of course. WangJi had since replaced the forehead ribbon on his head, but there was a high likelihood that sometime during the party WuXian was going to end up wearing it around his wrist.

Obviously Inigo has never heard of a science show before now, so he's not quite sure how it compares.. But as long as they're talking about happy memories from Bucky's past, he's willing to roll with it and just laugh. (He can kind of imagine what is it judging by the name alone, after all.) "Girls must have been lining up for you."

Listen, Bucky is sweet, funny and handsome. He gets it.

"But.. yes, this is from his world, as far as I'm aware." He looks a tad more awkward, glancing down at his outfit, but then smiles when his gaze rises to meet Bucky's again. "I have no idea why it has to be so loose though! One slipup, and.. well, let's just say I don't think the world is ready to witness all of me quite yet!" Which he's trying really hard to make sound like 'because I'm just that attractive' rather than 'because I'm incredibly self-conscious and shy and would die showing off skin'.

"Well, the population of eligible bachelors in the country was about to go way down -- we were all shipping out to war an ocean away. They were lining up for anyone in uniform," he replies, but honestly, he'd never had much trouble with the ladies.

The joke gets another laugh and he shakes his head. "It looks pretty comfortable to me, but I don't think I could pull it off," what with the extensive scarring on his shoulder and chest. Even his serum couldn't get those to fade. "It makes you look like you're ready for a vacation," and if anybody could get behind a trip to the tropics, it was Bucky.

"What do you mean?" Inigo immediately replies, looking quite genuinely surprised. "I'm sure it'd look great on you! Why wouldn't you be able to pull it..."

.. Oh. His voice trails off before he's even finished the sentence as Inigo's brain finally manages to catch up with his mouth. Right. There's a very obvious reason why Bucky might not want to wear something like this, huh. One that should be even more obvious to him, considering he's having the very same problem. It's not just a problem of modesty that this might show off too much skin if he lets it hang open, after all, it's also that he really doesn't want to have to answer questions about his scars.

And he can only imagine how much Bucky's must be worse than his own, considering what they did to him.

Inigo's head dips a little, looking awkward at his much belated realisation. It's probably better to not bring up the s-c-a-r-s word out loud, huh.

"Uh.. right, yes. Vacation." Clearly the smoothest response right there. "That'd be nice."

Despite the subject, Bucky manages a laugh as a blush dusts across his cheeks. "Yeah, it would kind of kill the look, don't you think?" and in the hopes of letting Inigo know that Bucky isn't going to take it personally, he lays his flesh arm over his friend's shoulders, giving him a little shake.

"Vacation would be great. I haven't had one since I was a teenager, and you look totally beach bungalow ready." Not that he expected Inigo to know what that even meant. "Aloha, relaxation, yeah?"

Is this payback for him rambling on about dragons and gates to other worlds? Because he's starting to feel like it is. Although he's definitely glad to be confused over modern terms instead of fretting about other things - especially with that comforting arm over his shoulders.

"I feel like at this point you're just going to start randomly making things up and trying to see if I can catch what is real in your world and what isn't," he lightly jokes, manging to regain his proper smile. "Aloha's the fake one. Right? That doesn't sound like a thing."

It might just be, or it might be a distraction, to get both their minds away from the way Bucky'd been mangled. "None of them are fake!" he insists with a warm laugh. "Aloha is how you say hello or goodbye in Hawaiian. It's a tropical island, so that's why it sounds fancy. Besides, why would I lie to you? You'd only embarrass yourself when you come visit, and I want my friends," not that he had any, "to think you're as cool as I do."

It's stupid how little is needed to make Inigo feel all warm and fond. Was he really that affection-deprived back home? Just hearing Bucky confirm once more that he actually wants Inigo to visit, andthat he'd want Inigo to meet his friends, and that Bucky thinks he's cool is enough to make him duck his head a little and blush.

"I wouldn't want to question your friends' intelligence, but they would have to be pretty stupid to not realise your new friend is actually from a different world that has dragons but no pizza."

That gives Bucky pause as he considers Inigo's reply with a little hum. "Well, I suppose that's true, and I'm not really friends with the kind of people that would hold it against you if you didn't know something because of that," he replies. "Though at least one of my friends is dumb as a rock," Steve. Steve is the dumb one. He's very, very smart and incredibly stupid all at once.

It makes sense. Bucky is so nice, Inigo can't really imagine him being friends with a bunch of jerks.

"How dumb are we talking?" He smiles at that, clearly interested. He'd like to hear more about Bucky's friends, although he's also just glad to keep the other talking about nice memories rather than bad ones. "You can't say that and then hold out on giving a fun example!"

"He was always pickin' fights he couldn't win," Bucky sighs. "He's really reckless, too, always charging in and putting himself in harm's way," he shakes his head.

There's a slight pause.

Then he leans closer to Bucky, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.

"That's funny. That description kind of reminds me of someone. What was his name again.." Granted, Bucky can probably win most fights he picks.. But Inigo did have to get him out of a pile of ice, okay, so he'll count that.

Bucky actually sputtered. "I... you... how could you?!" he pressed a hand to his heart, like he'd been gravely wounded. "You little brat!" He moved to swipe his arm around Inigo's head in an attempt to give him a Dutch rub (also known as a noogie), laughing as he did.

Inigo laughs brightly, putting up absolutely no resistance even as he's getting a noogie. If there's anyone he doesn't mind that or being called a brat by, it's Bucky.

"Maybe you're the one who should be worried about getting embarrassed in your front of your friends!"

Okay. Not really. The most embarrassing thing Inigo would do is just say excessively nice things about Bucky.

He laughed warmly, releasing Inigo from the noogie after just a few seconds. "Yeah, I guess I really should," he replied right back with a wide grin. "Who knew I was friends with someone so devious."
