Egret, Day 23
Who: Glorfindel and Open
When: Day 23
Where: Kitchen
What: Food and knives!
Warning: Sharp things
Having taken Evie's class and learned how to use the stove, Glorfindel was able to take part in his Team's chores of preparing the meals. Although, technically, that was what some of the more experienced cooks did. Glorfindel was more of a sous chef (chopper of things). Today he was making some quick, portable snacks that people could come and take with them if they wanted to go to the gym or the library or elsewhere on the train.
[What do people want? Come and ask! You might not get what you hope, but it will be interesting!]
He has also made an concerted effort to go through the kitchen and sharpen every blade in the room, except the butter spreaders.
[You can come help or just chat about sharp things!]

"Very much so." He shook his head. "I know some speak his name like he is some sinister villain, wanting people to die so he can take them away. But the opposite is true. He is sad with every soul that comes into his keeping. He and his Lady Wife do their best to make sure they mend, and that they heal. Not everyone is ready to let go of their past, however. Everyone heals at their own rate. There is no wrong way, there is no timeline. There is only infinite patience and love." Glorfindel might be a little biased since he'd gotten an opportunity to see them in action, as a healed soul, before he returned, of course.

Which is very cute and all, but Nerdanel is pretty sure Legolas is exagerating juuuuuuuust a bit.
"Oh." She breathes, relief in every line of her. "Oh, thank you. That helps. Thank you." Her Maitimo might be able to heal, then. Perhaps he will return to her in truth. Perhaps Caranthir will put aside his anger, and Celegorm his rage, and Curufin his fear. Perhaps her Ambarussar will return to her.
Perhaps even, one day, her husband.

He smiled gently. He knew. He had friends and relatives in the Halls. None were sons or husbands, but...he knew a measure of what she was going through. He was glad his words helped. He was even more glad that Lord Namo was such a being.

"They seem like such interesting people!"

"True! I should suggest it to him perhaps. I think we Noldor grow complacent - a bit of stiff competition would be useful!"

"Oh my! Perhaps don't tell them that to their faces!"

She peals with laughter.
"Oh, but the number of times I have seen that face on sons and husband! My lord, you will have to do far better than that!"
no subject
"I will work on my lying then," he said.
no subject
"Hm, I should probably not encourage that." She smiles.

"Or unlearnt some of them!"

She laughs again.
"Ai! I am not teaching you the bad habits of my sons and kinsmen! There are enough Finweans here already!"
no subject
"Speaking of which...Elrond is a Finwean...that explains so much, doesn't it? Some blame his half-human side..." Glorfindel shook his head. He has his great-grandfather's stubbornness."
no subject
"And do you also jump first, and look after?" She blinks, and laughs softly.
"Oh! I never... but that's true, isn't it! Elrond is Turukano's great grandson!"
no subject
"Again, not something that comes up often in conversation. That and his Maia ancestress on his mother's side. He is a person of many parts, our Elrond." And all of them stubborn.
no subject
"I suppose it might get frustatinng, people only seeing the legend, and not the truth of you."
She nods. "That is true! He has always just been... Elrond, to me. I should get to know him better, but as I am not his real grandmother, it always seemed overly presumptous, when he has so many kin who are eager to meet him again."
no subject
He shook his head. "Please do visit him. He's spent his entire life losing one family member after another, he's never met huge chunks of them. He's just lost his daughter, as well. Give him an embarrassment of familial riches, please. He will be awkward and look uncomfortable at first, but as his friend for the last almost five thousand years, believe me when I say, he will be exceedingly happy. It is his deepest wish, right after seeing his wife again."
"You could even pinch his cheek, though that one's for Celebrian. She will laugh and that will make him happy too." He grinned.
