Event: Abort! Part Two (day 25, Egret). Luggage carriage
They are on world world#27462947582 for about five hours, helping, ushering people out of the city, fighting monsters, keeping guard. All seems well in the city itself, peaceful even except for the slight panic of people being told to move south.
Wherever they are, north in the desert, travelling through the countryside to the south or still in the city itself they will notice from their peripheral vision a darkening of the sky. Looking up they will see clouds. Strange clouds, appearing in the blue sky out of nowhere.
Their SCA’s start beeping, rapidly, flashing red. The clouds are too weird to be clouds, dark shapes in the sky. It might be that the Voidtreckers heed the warning and tap their SCA to evacuate to the train. It might be that they do not.
If they don’t then there is a moment, a moment of absolute stillness as those around them notice the shapes. A confused pause. Children stop their chatter, people stop their complaining, even the monsters seem to sense something and pause in their attacks.
The remaining voidtreckers are yanked away, even without pressing their SCA, they glow gold and disappear.
They all appear in the luggage carriage and not even a second later, with no warning the train lurches, flinging everyone off their feet as it enters the void.
It’s not really easy to tell speed in the void, but they will get the sense that they are moving fast. Faster than before, leaving that world and whatever those shapes were behind.

Waver Velvet | ota
Waver had been looking at the sky when his watch started to flash--trying to discern what the hell those shapes even were. But then the next instant he was in the luggage carriage, immediately crashing to the ground in a heap of limbs and panicked confusion.
"W-w...what the hell just happened?!"
no subject
"I do no be knowing what did be happening at all."
no subject
"Did...did you see those things? In the sky, it...I don't know what that was."
no subject
She is definitely no doctor. "They did be looking like clouds, but I do be thinking they did no be being."
no subject
That headache was going to last for a while.
"But I d-don't know what they were."
no subject
"Why did the train be bringing us back? If they did be being monsters we could have been fighting them."
no subject
Headaches or not, stringing together some kind of logic was probably the only thing stopping Waver from panicking beyond the capacity for rational thought.
"If that's the case, then I'd guess it just sort of...reacted. Like if you see someone about to fall, you reach out to stop them. Whatever power the train has over us or at least our watches, it probably utilized that to grab us and run, so to speak. The question isn't really 'why', to me, but 'run from what?'"
no subject
"It has never no been doing that before. No when there has been danger. No when the wizards did be blowing up in the goblin place. No when me and Peter did be being captured by goblins. No when the volcanoes did be exploding. No apparently when Joss did be nearly dying in space." There had been dangers aplenty.
So.
"Those things did be being worse." She pointed at him. "You do be asking the right question I do be thinking." Not why. But from what.
no subject
Deep breath. Waver brought his hands together in front of him, nervously rubbing the two remaining Command Seals on his right.
"So then I have to ask that if things have been that bad before without so much as a twitch from the train itself...especially since it reacted so suddenly, did it know what those shapes were, or did it sense something terrible off of them that I couldn't?"
no subject
"Do you normally be sensing terrible things?"
People had all sorts of strange powers after all.
no subject
no subject
"Maybe they did no be being magic. Or it did just be being a magic that do be being very different than in your own world."
no subject
"Do you think the train will explain? I mean...maybe not."
no subject
So he wasn't all that optimistic they'd hear much of anything.
no subject
"And I'm not sure they will explain it to us."
no subject
"It...should, I mean--I get the feeling we haven't seen the last of--of whatever that was, so someone running this place should explain it."
no subject
"I think... we should get some answers, but... with no one ever really hearing them, I get the feeling they will just keep quiet."
no subject
Waver shook his head, running a hand back through his hair in frustration.
"I don't...I don't know what we're supposed to do."
no subject
"I don't know either... I thought we were helping other worlds. But we didn't help at all... But what does that mean for that world?"
no subject
What did it mean? Waver cut himself off, suddenly looking very distant--as though he was stuck in another place and time entirely. The memory of something terrible echoed in his head as he contemplated what the end of a world might look like, and he detested how clear of a picture he had of it.
For the hundredth time, Waver caught himself thinking Lancer would know what to do right now, knowing it wouldn't do a damn bit of good. He pulled his knees to his chest and pressed both hands to his head, struggling to take a deep breath without screaming.
"I d-...I d-don't think...that world's there anymore."
no subject
Though when they finally sunk in she couldn't help but find herself shivering slightly. Not a world anymore meant... they didn't exist anymore? They didn't survive. She really did not know how to handle this situation except to gripped the dress at the sides where her hands were currently placed.
She hated this feeling. She hated feeling like they didn't do enough. They could have maybe tried brining them on here if they had known maybe?
But in the end, Rapunzel couldn't help but cry. tears following down her cheeks. "...We could have done something..."
no subject
"If I'm right--I don't want to be, but if I am, that's...those shadows probably weren't something any of us could deal with. I-I have no idea what they were, but..."
no subject
"But... what do we do now?"
