Egret, Day 26 | Kitchen | Open

[As someone with a LOT of butchering experience, Glorfindel is in the kitchen, ready with sharp knives to disassemble boars and/or to teach anyone who wants to learn, how to dress meat. Feel free to come chat with him and marvel at his 5000 years of experience cutting things up.]

Trowa smiled a bit at that. "Then we'll have a margin for error. That's not a bad thing to have, though it is a new concept for me."

"Soldiers don't get a margin of error. Especially when they are essentially terrorists working alone to drive change."

"More insurgency and guerilla tactics." Trowa took one of the whittling knives and tossed it in the air, letting it flip end over end before catching it by the handle again. "I don't know if you've talked much with Duo, but our typical weapons were giant robotic suits that we operated from within, and mine was...not the most subtle." There really wasn't much about gattling guns and rocket launchers that could be considered subtle.

"Similar, but significantly bigger. If I had HeavyArms, my robot here, it would take up half a train car."

"With a ridiculous amount of fuel and small moving parts that require oil to keep them from locking up." It had been absolutely filthy work to build HeavyArms, but he would happily do it all from the ground up just to have the chance to fight with it again.

"It operates on a highly refined fuel that I don't think you would be familiar with. It has what's called a fusion reactor in it that mixes extremely small particles together with force to create energy." Not being a nuclear physicist himself, Trowa hoped his explanation would at least make sense.

"Yes, very similar." Trowa laughed softly, squinting a bit from the brightness. "Just on a smaller scale and with the energy directed to moving the arms and legs of the robot."

"The energy source or the gundam?" Trowa couldn't help smirking a little.

Chuckling, Trowa shook his head. "I wish. But no, there's no way a Gundam would fit on this train as it is currently. But who knows what's actually powering this thing. It's one of the mysteries right up there with how did we get to the platform and why were we chosen?"

“That still doesn’t explain why us and why not others.” The thought of being chosen didn’t exactly sit well with Trowa, but he understood the thought process. “If only we could get into the engine car.”

"That really is all we can do, isn't it?" Trowa smiled wryly as he flipped one of the knives in his hand. "At least I won't be going into a potential threat scenario unarmed again."
