BORN TO REVIEW
END OF FILM REEL...
( OOC: It's a fun little mingle! Have your characters bring their own food and snacks, cause some mischief, complain or be too loud. :) There will be small breaks between each showing and the blitz anime will be the same length as the movies altogether (so about 20 mins a piece).
Also full disclaimer, Ree wrote this! All credit goes to her!)
As announced by Romeo earlier that day, the cinema car has been prepared for a night of There's a soft whirring with the faint pop, poppoppop of the corn kernels, which thankfully isn't that intrusive to the ears as most popcorn machines. Salt and sugar shakers sit next to bowls for people to take and dish out their own popcorn, as well as bottles of cinnamon and mixed (sweet) spice. Also, there's even paprika and hot chilli bottles right next to each other. Who put those there? Please shake sparingly. Or don't. It's your tastebuds on the line.
Jugs of juice from the kitchen have been set out with plastic cups for those looking for a drink, as well as a simple collection of chocolate chip cookies. There may or may not be enough for all, but probably not.
The entertainment won't start right away, so take this time to chat with one another!
BORN TO REVIEW
- For this 'sports night', 4 episodes of an anime called Born To Blitz are being played, a comedy movie called Swing-It Like Seccam, and to finish it off, a sports-themed mystery of the beloved franchise Magical Detective Heartlines!
Born To Blitz is your standard sports highschool anime, but with a diverse extraterrestrial species and set on a 'coastal city' where all the buildings are domes. It's quick to lay out the story of its hero, Fax Qincan, who is trying out for the school's competitive blitzball team so that he can get a reputation and one day be a real blitzball professional. He gets a spot by the second episode (unfortunately, beating out his best friend for a place on the team), and now he must start his vigorous training before the school competitions start! The live-action Swing-It Like Seccam is a similar deal, if less intense and offering more laughs! Follow Arla as she inspires to become a professional ping-pong player like her hero Seccam, but also as she has to deal with a disapproving family who don't take her dreams seriously. Touching towards the end, it can be confusing now and then due to a lot of pop culture references popular in Miyoon in the year 6k20nb.
And last but not least is Magical Detective Heartlines: Goal In Life, an anime movie of the beloved Heartlines as she solves her latest case in all her 80s style anime glory! Famous hoverball player--a sports played on hoverbikes that also bash around the animated balls into goals--Missie is being threatened to throw in their biggest game yet, or risk the life of their snatched beloved! It's up to Heartlines to find the culprit--but can she do it before the end of the match?
Of course she does, but not without suspense and the game being stretched out at the risk of Misse's life as well! And with a bop of a soundtrack, and plenty of glittery sequences. And let's not forget the magical girl transformation scenes. Romeo will show you the moves.
END OF FILM REEL...
- And with that, the Sports Night is over with, and what you do is ultimately up to you. Talk about the selection? Something else? Are you the sort of person who can't imagine leaving a mess, or are you rushing off with familiar faces?
Or maybe it'll be nice to go for a watch to stretch your legs, even get a drink. It's late, but the coffee and tea machines are what, only twenty-five carriages away, surely.
Just remember not to stay up too late! Got to avoid the void sickness.

He casually stops Chainsaw from stealing popcorn that doesn't belong to her and distracts her with the absolutely covered in paprika popcorn that he made for her. The problem with living by yourself on a farm with very few visitors is that sometimes, you forget to teach your raven manners. He's been trying to correct it, but mostly Chainsaw's learned this lesson as don't steal when Ronan's looking. Thankfully she doesn't have a lot of interest in stealing typical things from other people. Mostly she steals discarded trash from other people and gets upset when Ronan throws it away.

Here it's more of a novelty, granted, but she doesn't make much fuss.
"Did Adam say what color, or just anything-but-black?"
If she knew Ronan's name, she'd mention feeling a sense of deja vu from another Ronan... no matter. Chainsaw making a move doesn't startle her too much, either, though she lets a hand drop over her bowl to cover it once it's clear Ronan has things handled.
"She has her own preferences for flavor, huh?" Beyond 'people have it so I want it', that is.

It's said with a certain exasperated fondness, the way one might talk to a child. Between Chainsaw and Opal, Ronan just has multiple weird children that he's vaguely exasperated by but dearly loves. He hopes Opal is doing alright - she's more self-sufficient than Chainsaw, only that's not saying much when Opal is shaped and acts like a child.

"Is that because it's red, then?"
That question may or may not be for her as well, not that Nita's expecting an answer.
"Or does she have the same reaction to red pepper flakes?"
no subject
"Kek?" Chainsaw looks up expectantly at Ronan, who rolls his eyes. "Kerah, kek?"
"No. Eat your popcorn."
As it turns out, owning a raven is a lot like having a toddler and Ronan's just resigned to the fact that when Chainsaw hears food words, she wants that food. Thankfully, nobody has asked him yet why he mostly feeds Chainsaw crackers when he should probably be feeding her, y'know. Meat. The answer is straight up just that she's not a real raven and he hasn't crossed that bridge with anybody yet, nor does he intend to.

Something sweet - that isn't cake! - and not spicy. Machu Picchu had spoiled her for bizarre behaviors in birds, or Nita would have thought to comment on it.
Nita snorts.
"Cake can be another time, maybe. Though we do have ice cream machines now."
Someone had been busy trying to figure them out in the kitchens earlier in the day.

By anybody else's standards, Opal and Chainsaw wouldn't be considered sisters. One's a raven and one's a faun-esque little girl. Well, even by their own standards, they wouldn't consider each other sisters since they hate each other but they're his weird kids and he says they're sisters.
"When did we get ice cream machines? Is that something you can buy in the shop?"
no subject
"Thought that was the sort of behavior to save for watermelons."
And learning about Opal might have given Nita pause, but it's not as if she has that context.
Certainly she's not going to learn it tonight.
"Yeah; someone brought it in this last platform stop. There was one for- soft serve, I think? And a more normal kind."

He would say brothers, plural, but actually he doesn't do anything to annoy Matthew. Matthew is too nice and sweet to want to annoy, the glue that holds their family together now. Well. Maybe not anymore. Maybe not now that Matthew knows the truth about what he is. If Matthew were here, he'd like the idea of eating ice cream. Ronan not so much - he's not really one for sweets, but it's interesting information in the sense that he wasn't aware you could basically buy anything from the shop.
That's something to think about for the future, when he actually has a decent amount of points to spend on things that he can't dream up himself.

"I've got a younger sister; she can be a pest, but she's got a good brain in that head of hers so we're usually all right."
Oh, if Dairine were to overhear that... Well, she might be doing just that, though Nita hasn't seen 'the runt' in the Cinema car yet.

"Hell of a way to do that, that's for sure-"
Unfortunately, right then is when Heartline finds the next major clue. The dramatic music sting breaks off Nita's train of thought, and she fumbles for what she was going to say for a minute or so.
"... Is Matthew another relative, or someone else?" Either way, it was good to have a peacemaker around.

He doesn't really think about how confusing that may or may not be, half watching what's going on in this weird anime movie he doesn't quite understand the plot of. Probably because he was asleep for the first third of it. It seems like something Henry would like. Not that Ronan knows Henry well, but just in the sense that Ronan's vaguely aware he likes Madonna and this gives him a similar vibe.

Meaning Ronan's other brother, in this case. She looks - confused, granted, but also strangely nostalgic.
"And - I swear this isn't out of nowhere - none of you have Junior in your name, do you?"
no subject
He doesn't mention, because he's still more or less keeping his full name to himself as much as possible, that this is only because their father named him Ronan first and Niall second. Otherwise he would, in fact, be Niall Lynch Jr and not Ronan.

"That's a new phrasing on me," she admits.
And, "Fair enough - you just reminded me of someone from home for a second."
Or more.
"Think we might want to pipe down for this next part, though."
The movie's climax is coming!
