Movie Night!

What: Sports anime movie night with popcorn!
Warnings: There shouldn't be! But I will add if anything comes up

POP, POPPOPPOP...

As announced by Romeo earlier that day, the cinema car has been prepared for a night of anime sports. There isn't much different at first glance, but by first whiff, those who recognise the smell of freshly popped popcorn may detect the new addition to the carriage before they see it set up on a table by the back wall.

There's a soft whirring with the faint pop, poppoppop of the corn kernels, which thankfully isn't that intrusive to the ears as most popcorn machines. Salt and sugar shakers sit next to bowls for people to take and dish out their own popcorn, as well as bottles of cinnamon and mixed (sweet) spice. Also, there's even paprika and hot chilli bottles right next to each other. Who put those there? Please shake sparingly. Or don't. It's your tastebuds on the line.

Jugs of juice from the kitchen have been set out with plastic cups for those looking for a drink, as well as a simple collection of chocolate chip cookies. There may or may not be enough for all, but probably not.

The entertainment won't start right away, so take this time to chat with one another!

BORN TO REVIEW

For this 'sports night', 4 episodes of an anime called Born To Blitz are being played, a comedy movie called Swing-It Like Seccam, and to finish it off, a sports-themed mystery of the beloved franchise Magical Detective Heartlines!

Born To Blitz is your standard sports highschool anime, but with a diverse extraterrestrial species and set on a 'coastal city' where all the buildings are domes. It's quick to lay out the story of its hero, Fax Qincan, who is trying out for the school's competitive blitzball team so that he can get a reputation and one day be a real blitzball professional. He gets a spot by the second episode (unfortunately, beating out his best friend for a place on the team), and now he must start his vigorous training before the school competitions start!

The live-action Swing-It Like Seccam is a similar deal, if less intense and offering more laughs! Follow Arla as she inspires to become a professional ping-pong player like her hero Seccam, but also as she has to deal with a disapproving family who don't take her dreams seriously. Touching towards the end, it can be confusing now and then due to a lot of pop culture references popular in Miyoon in the year 6k20nb.

And last but not least is Magical Detective Heartlines: Goal In Life, an anime movie of the beloved Heartlines as she solves her latest case in all her 80s style anime glory! Famous hoverball player--a sports played on hoverbikes that also bash around the animated balls into goals--Missie is being threatened to throw in their biggest game yet, or risk the life of their snatched beloved! It's up to Heartlines to find the culprit--but can she do it before the end of the match?

Of course she does, but not without suspense and the game being stretched out at the risk of Misse's life as well! And with a bop of a soundtrack, and plenty of glittery sequences. And let's not forget the magical girl transformation scenes. Romeo will show you the moves.

And with that, the Sports Night is over with, and what you do is ultimately up to you. Talk about the selection? Something else? Are you the sort of person who can't imagine leaving a mess, or are you rushing off with familiar faces?

Or maybe it'll be nice to go for a watch to stretch your legs, even get a drink. It's late, but the coffee and tea machines are what, only twenty-five carriages away, surely.

Just remember not to stay up too late! Got to avoid the void sickness.

( OOC: It's a fun little mingle! Have your characters bring their own food and snacks, cause some mischief, complain or be too loud. :) There will be small breaks between each showing and the blitz anime will be the same length as the movies altogether (so about 20 mins a piece).

He took in the similarities and the differences, he could see how she looked a bit like little Alice!

He would definitely ask Alice about poetry, he liked poems too! Though he couldn't recite them!

But he frowned worriedly at her words, "You forgot a language? Is it hiding in your head? I forgot I could speak Italian once but then I remembered and now I can speak it just as easy as Japanese."

"You remembered? That's quite fortunate."

Alice seems to mean it too. The fact that Romeo is so precious is really enhancing her capability to care about small things like that..

.. although his question is a little more difficult to answer. Mostly since she doesn't want a kid this cute to have to hear any of the nasty details that are the reason as to why she can't properly remember.

"And.. ah, well, I suppose you could say things in my head were.. rearranged?" She's not sure if that isn't just going to make it worse, but she can't think of any other way to put it that doesn't involve gross and depressing things. "So it must have gotten lost somewhere along the way."

"They got rearranged? Like all muddled up?"

That was weird, even stranger than just forgetting! It sounded a bit scary but he nodded, at her seriously.

"Maybe you will remember it as well. I lost all my memories but sometimes I get memory dreams and they come back, just like that! So maybe one day you will just be able to speak French again! Just like little Alice can!"

He smiled hopefully at her.

She nods. Honestly, she's pretty glad that Romeo seems to have enough of an idea of what she means without her having to be specific.. It saves both of them so much agony.

Besides, his optimism about it is.. something. Not necessarily a bad something, but a surprising something. It's a rare thing to Alice, after all - both because she herself is so pessimistic, but also since optimism is hard to come by in London.

"Well, we shall see. I don't believe I have ever had a memory dream before. What are they like?"

He's not too surprised to hear that. He's not sure if anyone who isn't a shinki has them, after all. But other peoples whose memories are missing or muddled might, he has hope for her.

"They are a bit strange, because you had a dream and when you wake up you know it was real, that it happened once! They can be a bit scary at first! But Elfnein always helps me if I have one and I bet your friends would too!"

[irrationally]

.. her friends, huh?

Well, she can't say that she doesn't have any at all in this place by now, she supposes..

"I'm sure they might be strange." Nothing stranger than things she's seen already though, she supposes.. Although there are some gaps in her memory that she'd rather keep there, Alice can't help but think. "Well, how about I let you know if I ever have one?"

He nods, serious for a moment. "Yes miss! You should. Because it's important to talk to people if you get memory dreams. Because there's lots of big feelings inside you and then if you don't talk..."

He pauses for a moment. It's probably not as dangerous for her, being a human and all...

"It could be bad."

[irrationally]

"Bad?"

Alice is well aware that there are "lots of big feelings" inside of her, though she's not very sure Romeo is thinking of the same kind of feelings she is.. But she's fine with letting him live with his own ideas about it, though this point seems to pull her attention.

"In what way?"

"It just is. That's why you got to talk about it."

He is being a bit hypocritical right now, because this right here, this is a big scary thing that he doesn't want to talk about!

"So if you get any of your muddled memories back, you can talk to me! I can help you!"

[irrationally]

Alice is very, very unsure about the idea of talking to a child about her asylum experiences. She may not always realise what's appropriate and what isn't, but she's pretty sure she's found the line here, and talking to children about things that disturbing is far, far beyond the line of things that are still appropriate.

But it's not like she wants to hurt such a sweet young boy either, so she just nods.

"Alright. I suppose I wouldn't mind if you talked to me about any memories that come back to you either."

"Okay then." He nods, "It's a promise then, we will tell each other if we get weird memory dreams!"

He raises a fist to his heart. More than a promise. A solemn vow!
