When: Grasshopper 20-22 (or the rest of grasshopper if you like!)
What: Getting people to play some sports, whether as beginners or finding people more on their level! Also can come in here for your personal sports games if you like?

As per Tidus's proposal on the netwrok on the 19th, the gymnasium has been set up around the next few days (or more!) around lunchtime--whenever those busy cooks in the kitchen deem it to be lunchtime--to hold a few ball games for all. It doesn't matter when a person comes in or their skill level, or even what they want to play. While there's a few set games, anyone is free to take the time to show off a sports game they're good at!

The set games are:

• Soccer: A team sport played with a spherical ball between two teams of 11 players. The game is played on a rectangular field called a pitch with a goal at each end. Numbers make this one tricky to play with a full two teams, but two or four players are possible.
  
  
• Volleyball: A game for two teams, usually of six players, in which a large ball is hit by hand over a high net, the aim being to score points by making the ball reach the ground on the opponent's side of the court.
  
  
• Badminton: A racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" and "doubles".

For those looking for a more easy-paced game, badminton or even table tennis may be recommended; the former easier to go with if you treat it like my secondary school P.E. classes and launch the shuttlecock into the air; the latter found at the table of the gym with its own fold out tables for games!

Jugs and beakers have been brought in from the kitchen with water for anyone who gets parched, set in a corner where....hopefully no stray balls (or other) will find themselves being flung into. While Tidus has put this together and can be chatted to, he's letting anyone who knows more about the games to lead things as they like!

( ooc: this is just a chill 'come play sportz' thing that you can play at your leisure! also feel free to pick a sports game that isn't listed, BYOS (Bring Your Own Sports), w/e w/e. )

[ That's not it at all. Or rather, girls hate him, and so do their boyfriends.. That is the truth. But Inigo will gladly grab this opportunity to cover his ass if Tidus is handing it to him so eagerly.

He even stops bouncing the ball for a moment, as if to convey the Importance of this. Full focus! ]

You wouldn't believe how many times I've had to fight for that exact reason. Tavern brawl after tavern brawl! How am I supposed to know whether or not a beautiful woman already has a boyfriend, huh?

[ Inigo in tavern brawl after tavern brawl is...hard to imagine. The guy's flirting technique was painful to watch, but for as good as the guy was with a sword, Tidus saw him getting chucked out before really trying to hurt someone. ]

Uh huh. [ The kind of uh huh of pretending to go along with a pal's version of events. But also- ] Sooo, you chased guys just as hard?

[ Tidus is being a supportive friend. ]

[ Does Inigo realise that uh huh is not very impressed? Or an indication that Tidus totally doesn't believe him? Of course he realises as much, but it's like he doesn't even pay attention to it. He just keeps up the same attitude-- ]

Heh, well--!

[ .. until he realises what Tidus is actually asking here. His cheeks grow pink. ]

.. w.. well! That's..! [ Don't shove another popcorn bowl into his face, Tidus, please. ] I.. I hadn't found a guy I liked that way yet before I got here!

[ At least that's a valid answer that both isn't a lie and also doesn't reveal the dumb reason he flirts with girls in the first place. ]

[ Ohh.

Ohhhh. This is something, isn't it. An embarrassed reaction, and one Tidus could easily tease on Inigo. But there's a time and place for any teasing, and despite the inkling on it, Tidus, with a small tilt of his head, hands resting on his waist, asks gently- ]

Were you shy about letting people know you liked guys back there?

[flatteries]

[ He goes quiet for a moment. It's so hard to keep up the lies or half-truths when Tidus seems like he's trying really hard to be gentle and understanding about this, rather than taking this opportunity to tease Inigo mercilessly. And maybe he still feels a little guilty about how out of hand things got back during the movie..

His embarrassment is still there, though more quiet too now. Just a blush on his face, his eyes downcast, his voice quieter than usually as he admits: ]

No. I'm not shy about that, I'm just.. shy in general.

[ He really hopes he isn't going to regret saying that. Or he might just slam this ball into his own face after all. ]

[ It's hard to follow Inigo's meaning. He's shy one second, but he's not about the ruckus he causes with calls in his world, and also- ]

You weren't shy with Cassie.

[ So what does being shy mean right now? ]

[ Inigo lets out a sound that mostly sounds frustrated, dropping the ball on the floor - and thankfully avoiding his own toes - so he can momentarily cover up his face with his hands. He's not really frustrated at Tidus though, as much as he's just frustrated as his own difficulty with talking about this. ]

I.. That was-- It was special.

[ Ugh, no, wait, that sounds wrong! Like he has a special thing for Cassie or something!

Inigo looks really uncomfortable, but forces himself to speak on before Tidus gets the wrong idea. ]

I don't know how to talk to girls. Without doing that. Even if I don't like them.

[ Even if he doesn't like them?? Wait, what's wrong with Cassie now? Except he realises that's not what he means, not just Cassie, even if... ]

Wait, so... you just... flirt? With everyone? [ Wait. ] Every girl?

[flatteries]

[ His head dips into an embarrassed nod. As if he can't even bring himself to verbally answer 'yes' to that. ]

Talking to guys is fine. [ Ironically, considering that's what he's usually more attracted to.. ] And I can talk to girls if I know them very well, like Nita, but when they're complete strangers or I don't know them very well, I.. I just clam up otherwise.

[ This is clearly a difficult conversation for Inigo, but at the same time... Tidus is perplexed. Blinking, frowning, trying to figure it out. ]

Shouldn't you... Shouldn't that be the other way round?

[ He points his forefingers in the opposite direction of each other. ]

[ He looks over at Tidus, and though he still looks a little embarrassed, Inigo also looks completely clueless. Like he has no idea why Tidus would even say that.

(Because Inigo is a moron.) ]

There's nothing really about the thought of sex with either a guy or a girl that repulses him in any way - though he knows it's going to make him shy for sure if he lingers for too long on that imagination, and that's No Good in the middle of this bro talk, so he quickly speaks on. ]

But I don't think I've ever seen a girl and was immediately attracted to them without even having spoken to them? I mean, I can tell when girls are beautiful, but.. [ It makes it easier that Tidus is so smiley about it, really. As long as Tidus doesn't indicate that anything about this is Weird, Inigo can keep talking.

Well.. I had someone like that. [ Despite the sad edge to the content of that sentence, Inigo still smiles, though obviously less goofy than a moment ago. ] Not as much right now though? I mean-- looks-wise Bucky is really, really handsome, but going further than that would be kind of weird since he's like a big brother figure to me.

Yeah, doesn't matter if the guy's got muscles or whatever you like if you see him like that.

[ Which is better to comment on then the part before it. And sure, it makes sense that Inigo likely isn't thinking about guys--or anyone--right now. ]

I still don't get it though, then. If you like guys and girls, what's the big deal you make with women? You know it's okay just to say hi, right?

[ He seems rather glad that Tidus gets it, rather than making any jokes about it that are highly likely to make Inigo both flustered and uncomfortable all at the same time.

(He even manages to nail the exact reason why Inigo hasn't exactly had rating people's attractiveness much on the mind recently, though unbeknownst to Inigo.) ]

It's like he's missing some critical point here, since he frowns at Tidus in genuine confusion at the other's statement.
