OTA with Closed Prompt - Ninja Mime 3

Who: Cassie + Anybody, with closed prompt for Trunks
Where: Cinema Car
When: Horseshoe, Day Four-ish
What: A screening of Ninja Mime 3: Mime in Time

There's less fanfare for this screening than there was for the last one Cassie hosted. She's looking for a somewhat more intimate affair, and she figures the sequel won't draw as much as the first one anyway.

Before she gets there, though, she'll be lingering outside her own cabin, waiting for a certain lavender-haired someone who is particularly invited to pass by.

Narration would be correct.

"Oh-ohkay." Trunks murmured, trying not to stutter. Reaching out, he took her hand gently. Almost like a hand-shake, but definitely with a more nerves that were obvious.

Cassie's smile tightens into a smirk as he takes her by the hand.

"Lead on, handsome."

"You assume I know where to go." It's muttered under his breath, more out of nerves than anything. But really, it was a straight-line and Trunks had gotten used to the general location so far for which car was which. It didn't help that her hand was warm, soft and strong and warm.

They're a warrior's hands, like his. A warrior with more frequent access to Beverly Hills mani/pedi people than most people, but they are definitely hands that have punched.

His hand sure isn't bad to hold, either.

"Not to worry, you can't miss it."

It might be because she's also a warrior, that he finds her hand warm. Because they were kindred spirits. Not just warriors who fought together, but she had become his friend very rapidly too.

Of course, now it was the walk through the train cars--including all the other Sleepers, and the Library, Music, and training gym cars.

Cassie lets much of the walk pass in silence. It's a warm silence, not an awkward one. But as they pass through the cars around them, including the new library car, she starts to feel a little more chatty.

"So how've you been settling in?"

While his blush hadn't completely gone away, it had faded as they walked and he had both tried, and not tried, to think about the fact that they were holding hands. "Well, like you, I frequent the training gym more often than almost any other car. Well, maybe the kitchen too. I try to do my share of cleaning up there, even though it's not my chore, because I tend to eat a lot."

"With muscles like those, I'm not surprised," Cassie says. "Gotta eat your protein to keep those gains."

She shoots a smirk his way.

"To be honest, I think I'd have gone stir crazy in here if it weren't for the gym car."

Nope, that blush is back. "It's kind of not my fault, in a way. Saiyans run on their stomachs." She really thinks I'm handsome? She noticed?

Swole Trunks is impossible not to notice.

"Guess it makes sense," Cassie says. "All that energy has to come from somewhere."

"I've been settling in though, and I appreciate your help from the platform too. I met Glorfindel, among others." Saiyans and half-saiyans do have a certain build they can't fight.

[nutkrusher]

"Good," Cassie says. "I know Glorfindel. Solid guy. Reliable. Co-nominated him for the council elections a while back."

"He thinks highly of you too." That had been clear. "Called you a pillar of team Purple." Still blushing, but a brief glance her way and part of his mouth quirked up. "Do all new arrivals get your personal attention like this?"

He can try and tease.

Good job, Trunks. You actually got her, a little. Her eyes dart to the side a moment. She wouldn't call it blushing, but for a moment, she looks a little less smug, even if she doesn't stop smiling.

"Well, only the ones that can give me the kind of fight you can. Which is...just you so far."

He learns and adapts quickly. "Guess Piccolo's been going easy on you then." Still teasing, but just in case that's not clear, he squeezes her hand in reassurance. She was a very good fight, and he enjoyed sparring with her.

"Maybe," Cassie says. "Might have to draw him out and see."

She squeezes his hand back and smiles as they enter the cinema car.

"Give me a minute while I set everything up. You grab some popcorn."

"Maybe we'll get lucky on a mission and have time to go all out in a spar." Trunks will try hard to not examine that warm-and-fuzzy-feeling he got when she squeezed his hand back right now. "Popcorn I can do. Soda too?" Because when you were watching a movie it was a rare time to engage in junk-food.

Not that there really was such a thing as junk food to a half-saiyan.

"Sure, whatever you can get to drink's fine," Cassie says.

She sets up the screening, as well as stepping up front to explain the basic details of the film to anyone else who happens to be there.

She slides into the seat next to him just as the opening credits start to roll.

Two things of popcorn, and two sodas, and a shy smile when she slides to sit next to him. "So how bad was it growing up with a famous dad?" The only thing he'll whisper before paying attention to the movie as much as he can, since he hasn't seen the others.

Seriously though, a ninja-mime? Then again, he supposed it wasn't any crazier than some other premises.

"I took the good with the bad," Cassie says. "Having money was nice. I liked it when he'd take me to the premiers. But the tabloid shit?"

Rather than finishing, she shakes her head and grabs a handful of popcorn.

The opening credits are intercut with scenes of a shadowy figure being chased through a nightclub, while music so Euro-90s it hurts blares (helpfully, if redundantly, labeled "Paris, 1997" by the title card).

It's a completely different world than Trunks' own though, so he's paying attention. He might have to ask her about the year-names though, as 1997 seemed awfully in the future from how he was used to reckoning it. "Money can make things easier, it's true." He whispered back at one point, but mostly he was paying attention to the film.

"Sure does."

It can get you things like pony friends for the pony you already have. It's a miracle she didn't turn out completely ruined by it.

Meanwhile, one of the figures is revealed to be our intrepid hero. Why he is wearing makeup is unexplained, and will remain unexplained throughout the film. He's cornered the villain in a back room.

"I suppose you think I'm too late, don't you...Ninja Mime?"

"Wait, why is he wearing make-up?" It's the obvious question.

[nutkrusher]

"Because he's the Ninja Mime."

It's the obvious answer.

As he is a mime, he can only nod in response to the villain's inquiry.

"You do not know the power I possess! I command the sands of time! It will NEVER be too late...for me!"

A portal opens in the wall and the villain dives in. The hero tries to go in after him, but crashes into a VERY visible wall.

Trunks winced, though whether in sympathy for the impact or because of how cheesy it seemed who could tell. Taking a sip of his soda too, and offering her more popcorn.
