OTA - Ramen, anyone?

What: Senku misses ramen, and so in tradition, he's making some and there's definitely enough to share.

Locked to Roland and Gen

Ramen didn't just make itself, and while he could cut a break, it seemed unlikely that Gen was going to leave well enough alone. He was pulling out ingredients for the broth and the noodles and he grinned.

"Glad you could make it." He addressed Roland with a smirk. "Time to pay up." He said with a beckoning motion of his finger. "Come on, I'll teach you how to make ramen."

He didn't know if Roland was familiar with it or not, but most people probably couldn't make it from scratch either.

OTA - Everybody come and eat!

It may not have been their turn to cook, but Senku didn't care because he was the one missing it the most.

The ramen that is being served has a light, brown broth from soy sauce and is actually quite tasty. Gen and Senku have had a lot of practice with substandard ingredients, and so making it with the real thing?

It's pretty decent. They went with shoryu ramen because it was the easiest with the ingredients on hand, mixed with some of the garlic and ginger that they picked up, as well as served with pork - real pork they picked up on the mission, not mystery bear meat.

Both Senku and Gen were helping to serve and dress the ramen, just like they might be at home.

[ Ramen is not really a thing to worry about table manners for, and Senku finds himself wondering at what Della said. ]

Yeah, ramen's pretty good, but...Tokyolk? Where's that?

Oh, that's the capital of Japan in my world! The best of technology, and the weirdest of cartoons.

Ah, fair enough, for us it was Tokyo. Now it's just the Kingdom of Science.

[ That's all Japan is now, but that's fine. It's a good place. ]

I'll take your word on that, but then again, Japan for us was known for animation as well.

What makes you think I'm in charge?

[ It's a good intuition. He's in charge. He doesn't really have a title, per se. ]

Just a guess. I doubt the train would pick up normal citizens.

I don't see why not, all of the normal citizens bring their own skills to the table. I'm not prince, but I am the chief of the village and up until this point I've been running the whole thing, so your intuition is right on the money.

It tends to be. I may not have brains, but my gut is rarely wrong!

It's a means to an end really, I'm not that interested in being in charge, it's just convenient at the moment.

[ He snickers. ]

Nah. Still using my position. Maybe when we finish rebuilding, who knows.

[ Once the population gets big...he's not a politician. ]

No way, not me! I'm not really the best at being in charge of stuff like that.

It's not as bad as you'd think. It's a lot of things you wouldn't expect but...

Trust me, we're better off. I know my strengths, and I definitely know my weaknesses.

You're already one step ahead of most leaders. Knowing your weaknesses is definitely the most important part.

[ He grins, that's one area where he's quite self-aware. ]

[ She gives a playful eyeroll. ]

Well, to be fair, it's mostly cause I've had several people point them out. Repeatedly.

[ He lets out a playful, and surprised laugh at that. ]

Ah yeah, I've been there. But some of them I know on my own. [ He grins and shrugs. ]

But it's good to be reminded by an outside party now and then. Prevents a swelled head... and broken bones.

Surprisingly I haven't broken many bones, and none lately! [ He grins, read into that what she will. ]

It doesn't bother me. Either they're right or not, but either way I'm sure I'd hear about it. No one's afraid to tell me anything.

Well then, glad to know I don't have to fear that as well. Consider me honest to a fault.
