OTA - Ramen, anyone?
Who: Senku Ishigami, Gen Asagiri, Roland Crane and open, so very open!
Where: Kitchen
When: Horseshoe 17
What: Senku misses ramen, and so in tradition, he's making some and there's definitely enough to share.
Warnings: Shouldn't be!
Locked to Roland and Gen
Ramen didn't just make itself, and while he could cut a break, it seemed unlikely that Gen was going to leave well enough alone. He was pulling out ingredients for the broth and the noodles and he grinned.
"Glad you could make it." He addressed Roland with a smirk. "Time to pay up." He said with a beckoning motion of his finger. "Come on, I'll teach you how to make ramen."
He didn't know if Roland was familiar with it or not, but most people probably couldn't make it from scratch either.
OTA - Everybody come and eat!
It may not have been their turn to cook, but Senku didn't care because he was the one missing it the most.
The ramen that is being served has a light, brown broth from soy sauce and is actually quite tasty. Gen and Senku have had a lot of practice with substandard ingredients, and so making it with the real thing?
It's pretty decent. They went with shoryu ramen because it was the easiest with the ingredients on hand, mixed with some of the garlic and ginger that they picked up, as well as served with pork - real pork they picked up on the mission, not mystery bear meat.
Both Senku and Gen were helping to serve and dress the ramen, just like they might be at home.
[Ramen free for all, grab a bowl and Senku, Gen or Roland, or any combination of the trio above.]

"Interest you in some ramen?" A ramen connoisseur might know this to be specifically shoyu style ramen, the noodles are being made handmade, the broth had been as well.
It might technically be multiverse ramen, but it would be typical to Earth.

Though there was ice cream earlier, so, why not?
Wormmon is less concerned with the fact that ramen knows no dimensional boundaries, and more concerned with the fact that there is ramen right here.
"We can have some, right?"
"Let's split a bowl." Ken takes a seat. That appearance and aroma...."It's a soy-based broth, isn't it?"
no subject
Senku would set about serving it up, he's a real pro at this by now.
no subject
"You made this all by hand?"
He swears he's going to stop asking ramen-related questions soon. Probably. But Ken has learned far more about ramen in the past few weeks than he had known in his entire life, thanks to the company he keeps. His best friend...is really serious about it. Ken loves listening to how much it means to him.
Wormmon just loves the fact that there is a BOWL OF RAMEN RIGHT HERE, YOU HAVE MADE HIS DAY, SCIENCE TEAMMATE.

"But we did pick up some ginger, so that helps with the flavour, and of course, proper noodles."
He was personally excited about the ramen, but then again, that was just how things were.

Wormmon's cheeks bulge. "It's so good! We have a great cook on our team."
"I'm glad." Ken blows on some noodles and then takes his own bite. This...
He leans over, the better to keep slurping the noodle into his mouth. Wormmon grins around his mouthful of pork.
Eating together makes everything taste twice as good!

"Ah, I wouldn't call me a great cook. I can make ramen...I'm practically an expert in bread making, but the rest of what I can do is pretty basic. I could follow a recipe, definitely."
no subject
Wormmon gets some noodles next, so he can see what Ken's talking about. As he sucks in his ramen, droplets of broth fly up and dollop Wormmon on the forehead, but he doesn't care. Ken-chan will just clean him off later!

"Is your world that strenuous?"
Ken's listening, he's just also eating. This probably applies to Wormmon too...
No, Wormmon is mostly eating.
no subject
He took care of his people, that was all there was to it.

So something must have happened, if Senku has a point of comparison. Ken puts down his chopsticks to think about this.
Wormmon tips the bowl to get some soup.

A concrete plan is always useful when someone has a goal to achieve. And the loftier the goal the more important the plan is.
....All of civilization, though.
Wormmon can tell Ken is doing that Ken thing he does, where he has something to say but does not immediately say it. He has gotten much better about this, but occasionally needs prompting. "Ken-chan, you can ask. Only a nice person would make this tasty a ramen."
The poking and reprogramming questions and etc are all forgiven, Senku. You can make ramen and you agree with Ken about the sky.
You have Won the Worm.

He blinked at the exchange though. "You're wondering something? I like questions. People ask me questions at home constantly, so go ahead."
no subject
Wow, this is a big one. But he wants to know. Because he can't imagine it.
"What - happened?"
no subject
"Ah yeah, that would help, wouldn't it? One day there was a light and all of the humans were petrified until I broke free some 3700 years later. Civilization has collapsed, there was nothing there but the wilderness. Everything man had created had decomposed over time, nearly." He mused.
"Very different world. We're going to speed our way through history and bring everyone back to a modern age, that's the plan."
no subject
"That's scary." Wormmon huddles close to Ken. This is absolutely so that he can protect Ken from the scariness of the concept if necessary and in no way, shape, or form because he himself is frightened. Nope.
Ken is still thinking the core premise through. "What could cause such a thing?"
no subject
He hummed. "It's a weapon, or a tool, I'm undecided on the manner, that we're calling the Medusa. We've seen one, now. Fascinating."
no subject
It would be inconsiderate to let his ramen get cold, especially when the chef is 1) right in front of him and 2) took the time out of that busy a life, and those many concerns, to make ramen and serve it to them. Ken feeds Wormmon some noodles, steadying them with his chopsticks as his partner slurps.
no subject
"But even if I didn't go back, I have faith in the others. They would see it all through to the end." Senku knew some very good people.
no subject
And not worry about...okay, he's still going to worry occasionally, because "worry" is his default setting. But it's - reassuring, to think his adventures won't cause his parents any more fear for him. They've been so supportive. Ken tries to repay that by keeping them in the loop.
And Senku will be able to see his world revitalize itself. Senku will be able to go to space.
Ken never forgets a person's dream.
no subject
"Since I can't be there though, I try and find things to do around here instead."
no subject
Wormmon has figured out what the conversation is about! It all makes sense now! This person likes to keep busy so he does helpful train things. Such as cooking.
...Ken is pretty sure that, given the nature of Senku's ambitions and scale of thought, he doesn't just make ramen. He'd learned as part of supporting the people helping him back home, he'd said. The same seems true here.
no subject
"Usually I'm working pretty much every moment I'm awake, as much as I can be, so the train is kind of boring to me."
