it's halloween, lo-ween, everybody!

Who: Everyone's Invited!
Where: Various decorated carriages!
When: Horseshoe 31.
What: Della is hosting a Halloween party! Come for treats, tricks, and trouble!
Warnings: N/A, will update it needed.

The room is dark…why aren’t the lights on? But as the doors fully open, a voice begins laughing darkly…

… although if you’ve ever heard the voice of Della Duck, you’ll recognize her immediately.

“Boys and girls of every age, wouldn’t you like to see something strange?”

Suddenly there’s a big THUD as someone drops from the ceiling, the lights flash on, and Della herself, dressed as a zombie – ripped apart clothes, fake blood here and there, drawn on scars - wiggles her fingers before laughing joyfully. “Happy Halloween, everybody! Let’s party!”

Tasty Treats

A big buffet table of candy and punch has been laid out! Mini chocolate bars and multi-colored lollipops, gummy worms and candy corn, all sorts of sweet and sour shenanigans, ghost-shaped cookies and mummy-looking muffins! There’s plenty to eat, with absolutely no healthy alternatives.

There are also small wrapped bags of candy with the letters “T.o.T” written on them. If someone tells you, “Trick or Treat!” you have to share your candy! Or keep it to yourself, you monster.

Haunted House

Thanks to Seto Kaiba’s projections, a neighboring carriage has been converted into a Haunted House! While it’s all a trick on the eyes, it gives the illusion that there are several floors of spookiness. Each floor has a different theme –

#1 Serial Seriousness – Every so often, a masked intruder pops out at you, with long claws or chainsaw, ready to give chase! Be careful, or you’ll be the next victim!

#2 Zombie Zaniness – Moans and groans of the undead can’t be unheard. Rotting arms will try to swipe at you through the floorboards!

#3 Ghostly Games – You can see through them, and they can see you too! Each mirror reflects a different dastardly demon!

#4 Deadly Doctors – In this hospital, it’s not the awful health insurance that’ll kill you! Beware the bloody nurses and their extra big needles!\

#5 Fishy Fears - … Wait, what? … Okay, this last floor was clearly designed by Della. It’s like Under the Sea, but with sharks and octopi and kraken - and Della insists this is the worst floor.

Feel free to have your characters braving the house, or trying to scare people within!

Dance Floor

If being haunted isn’t your thing, nothing wrong with getting your groove on! Ask DJ Della what kind of song you’d like to play, and she’s happy to put on the list, from a classic Monster Mash to something more somber and soulful for you slow-dancing-romantic-vampire-types.

Turnip Carving
… Look, they didn’t have pumpkins. Anyway, you’re encouraged to carve scary and silly faces in these veggies! There is a contest, but everyone will be a winner, from “Most Realistic” to “Most Depressing” !

Movie Mania
Kick back and relax – and be horrified – at the otherworldly horror films! Like the horrific monster mime, “That”, the relentless umpire-mask wearing killer, “Monday the 20th”, and the endless array of the undead, “Midmorning Of The Not Wholly Alive”!

Some of you awful people might be thinking of popping up and scaring the theater-goers and this is /winkwinknudgenudge/ totally not approved. /plausible deniability/

Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark
In one secluded, quiet, and verrry dark carriage, lit only by candles, here you are encouraged to tell the scariest stories you can think of! What eerie legends will you share from your world, or do you dare to make it up as you go along?

Make your own top-level, and happy haunting!

Also, if your character would like to dress up, costumes are available for this night only!

"So I should expect jump scares, creepy music and a lot of blood, but isn't actually real blood. Though... if it's not real blood what is it made from? How can you make blood?"

She was asking that as a serious question.

"I'm not actually sure, but I think I read once that it was made from corn syrup and food colouring, but that may not actually be true. They're just special effects." Natsuno explained. "So it's not blood, it's just meant to look like it for the movie."

"I see...I might try that sometime just to see if it's true." And because she was honestly a tiny bit curious. It was something she could use for art to maybe, who knows.

"But I guess knowing this now might take away from the scary stuff."

"I don't think it does, if you want to get wrapped up in the movie, you just have to focus on it and it should still work. People typically know it's not real, but they watch them anyway." Natsuno quirked half a smile.

"Oh, I understand the whole it's not real thing, but I always thought the stuff in it was. I mean I had no way of knowing it wasn't either." But she soon looks at the screen as the film seemed to be starting.

She honestly didn't know what she was expecting exactly, but at least she will be able to find out soon.

"No, I imagine they would have a hard time getting that much blood if they needed it. Sometimes they can be quite excessive in their use of blood."

He settled in to watch though, he was relaxed and anticipating potentially a horrible movie. Those were far more amusing.

Rapunzel seemed rather excited at the thought of watching a different kind of movie. She had seen a couple of different genres but this was her first trip into horror related stuff.

Whenever it was meant to get scary, Rapunzel did show signs of being scared and the little chameleon who had at some point during the movie climbed onto her shoulder and hid behind with little hands.

Natsuno couldn't help but glance at her every so often to see what she was doing and how she was faring. He noticed the chameleon and thought that was a bit strange, but that was how things were around here. Strange.

He wouldn't interrupt her experience, but he wasn't terribly jumpy. In fact, he almost looked amused.

She couldn't help but look over curiously from time to time before making sure she at least comforting Pascal. These movies just simply reminded her about the horrors of the world that Gothel would talk about, except maybe a little worse.

Though she guessed the only difference was these were not real? But what if it had been? The film was soon over as Rapunzel kept quiet for a bit.

"That was...certainly a lot of blood."

"That's pretty much a staple of these movies." Natsuno responded. "It's meant to make you grossed out, or scared, for fun."

He just didn't find it that scary anymore. He'd always been the stoic type.

"Grossed out is certainly right. And people enjoy this type of thing? Why... do people like to get scared?" She was just confused over the whole thing really.

"I suspect that most people live very safe lives, so it's kind of a thrill for them." Natsuno mused. "It's the kind of thing people think will never happen."

"As someone who lives a safe life... I still find it terrifying and not that fun." But that was because she was made to think everything was scary and honestly out to get her for the most part.

"But I am a rare exception, I suppose."

[reluctantjinrou]

"They're not for everyone, but if we've decided today is Halloween, then that's sort of the spirit of the holiday, as I understand it. I didn't really hear of this before but..."

"Didn't hear of Halloween before? I haven't before now." So she didn't really understand it for the most part.

[reluctantjinrou]

"I don't think they have that in my country." Natsuno murmured thoughtfully. "We have a holiday to celebrate the dead, but it's nothing like this. It's a lot more sombre."

He had lived and died nearly a decade before Japan got Halloween.

"What holiday was that then?" she asked curiously. After all, it seemed like a good idea to at least learn of other holidays and the like that she might not have ever heard of before.

"It was called Obon." Natsuno explained. "It originated in religion to honour your ancestors.

"It lasts three days. Typically people get together with their families, they might visit a shrine, sometimes thre are festivals and people wear yukata. Sometimes people send candles down the river, at least, I've heard that. I've been to the festival a couple of times, but not the shrine. My parents were against religion."

"To honor ancestors..." It seemed like an interesting concept as a sign of she assumed respect for the most part.

"It sounds nice... Respecting those who came before, though I didn't know it was also religious."

"It's one of the things Japanese people typically go to temple for. Because my parents had a thing against religion, we didn't attend much of that. My parents were a bit strange like that." Natsuno didn't know what he believed himself, but there must have been something, right?

"I mean...I don't get how it would be a religious thing. For me it would be nice to honor those you love and care for in general" But that was honestly just her.

[reluctantjinrou]

"I don't disagree with you, but the act of going to the temple usually involves prayers and things, rituals. That was the kind of thing my parents were against." Natsuno frowned.

"I couldn't go to a temple now, but it was nice the time I went."

"So...that type of thing is a religious thing?" She honestly doesn't get it at all really.

But she soon frowns slightly. She didn't get why he couldn't anymore, so she was just going to try and be positive about it.

"I'm sure that isn't true. if you wanted to it should be fine. Not like we ever go to one though."

He liked Rapunzel well enough that he didn't want her to up and leave on him, so he just shrugged it off. "Then I suppose it's a moot point."

It was complicated, why he couldn't just walk into holy places.

"But typically yes, prayers and communing with the gods is considered religious to most people I would think. There's just a lot of different religions to choose from."

"I see. I guess that is not something I need to focus on here, I suppose." She wasn't sure what religions people had here honestly, but they never seem to be anything that got brought up either.

"But hey, the movie is over what are your plans next?"
