Wedding Day - Open Mingle
Who: WangJi, WuXian, and anyone who wants to come
Where: Dressing Car and Gym Car
When: Day 29
What: WuXian and WangJi get married again. Wedding and Reception
Warnings: Aside from gratuitous pdas from the newlyweds? Probably nothing. Let me know if something needs to be added
The day had quickly arrived after the date had been picked out. The dressing car was opened by the train, letting everyone who wished to attend go to pick out something formal to wear for the event, and very early in the morning, the gym had been decorated appropriately for the Chinese wedding ceremony, mostly in the color red with some gold mixed in. Near the door of the carriage was a banner with Chinese characters written on it, including the double happiness symbol.
For the ceremony itself, a low table was set out with a few items. The grooms entered, both WangJi and WuXian wearing red robes had been made by the resident spider, embroidered with gold designs of forest animals. WangJi's normally white forehead ribbon had even been replaced with a red and WuXian had a red veil. With their attendants there to assist, the wedding ceremony began.
As the pair approached the table, WuXian on one side and WangJi on the other, they alternated bowing to each other three times before kneeling. With the help of their attendants, they each drank a cup of tea, which they used their long sleeves as though hiding that they were doing so behind them. Once they had put the cups down, WangJi reached up, pushing the veil back so that he could see WuXian’s face before removing the forehead ribbon he’d been wearing. Taking WuXian’s hand, he used to make kind of a loose knot between their two wrists, a Gusu Lan symbol that WuXian was his fated partner. Then as they carefully stood, WangJi leaned in to kiss WuXian before they both bowed to their attendants, thanks for assisting them and being there for them.
Soon after the room was ready for the reception, the feast prepared for the couple and for their guests, which had been prepared by helpful volunteered, attempting to make as many traditional dishes as they could with the offerings that the train had.
As the wedding couple, they were rather happily seated together of course. WangJi had since replaced the forehead ribbon on his head, but the question would be how long it stayed there.
[ooc: Mingle post! Feel free to make your own top levels and tag around and have fun. Also, in the picture, ignore the hat for WangJi’s robes. He’s not wearing a hat]

"Young master Wei. As head of the family, I am glad to welcome you in it."
Formally. Yes, he knew he had said some rather sharp things outside the Guanyin temple. But they were situational, born out of worry for his little brother - worry that this ceremony had laid to rest.

"Your support over the years has been appreciated, older brother," he said, aiming for a respectful tone, at least.

"I - wish Wangji to be happy. And I know nobody other than you can make it so. And - that he will give all that he is to make you so, in turn. This is right."
A moment, then he added, cautiously, "is there a way you wish me to address you, in turn?" There were a couple of options that would be appropriate, after all, and while Xichen suspected the younger man would have accepted any of them, some of them might be uncomfortable with ghosts of the past. It was fairest, he thought, to ask.

But this was different. He took a breath, and watched the younger man for his reactions to both options.
"A-Xian? Or Wuxian?" He called his brother Wangji, after all, it was also something fitting.

He knew it might be a while, but in his opinion one can live in grief and guilt for only so long. It wasn't that Wuxian didn't feel the grief and guilt for the deaths of his family, friends, and others, but if he let it weigh him down, he wouldn't be able to be here today, by Wangji's side, and his husband deserved to have him there, even if he still wasn't sure he deserved someone like Lan Wangji. Xichen's path was different, of course, but he was here to support the older man.

"You expect that I will be really teasing you in the near future?"
Almost a tease of itself, really. But it was important - to share happiness with those who have worked hard to win it.
