Wedding Day - Open Mingle
Who: WangJi, WuXian, and anyone who wants to come
Where: Dressing Car and Gym Car
When: Day 29
What: WuXian and WangJi get married again. Wedding and Reception
Warnings: Aside from gratuitous pdas from the newlyweds? Probably nothing. Let me know if something needs to be added
The day had quickly arrived after the date had been picked out. The dressing car was opened by the train, letting everyone who wished to attend go to pick out something formal to wear for the event, and very early in the morning, the gym had been decorated appropriately for the Chinese wedding ceremony, mostly in the color red with some gold mixed in. Near the door of the carriage was a banner with Chinese characters written on it, including the double happiness symbol.
For the ceremony itself, a low table was set out with a few items. The grooms entered, both WangJi and WuXian wearing red robes had been made by the resident spider, embroidered with gold designs of forest animals. WangJi's normally white forehead ribbon had even been replaced with a red and WuXian had a red veil. With their attendants there to assist, the wedding ceremony began.
As the pair approached the table, WuXian on one side and WangJi on the other, they alternated bowing to each other three times before kneeling. With the help of their attendants, they each drank a cup of tea, which they used their long sleeves as though hiding that they were doing so behind them. Once they had put the cups down, WangJi reached up, pushing the veil back so that he could see WuXian’s face before removing the forehead ribbon he’d been wearing. Taking WuXian’s hand, he used to make kind of a loose knot between their two wrists, a Gusu Lan symbol that WuXian was his fated partner. Then as they carefully stood, WangJi leaned in to kiss WuXian before they both bowed to their attendants, thanks for assisting them and being there for them.
Soon after the room was ready for the reception, the feast prepared for the couple and for their guests, which had been prepared by helpful volunteered, attempting to make as many traditional dishes as they could with the offerings that the train had.
As the wedding couple, they were rather happily seated together of course. WangJi had since replaced the forehead ribbon on his head, but the question would be how long it stayed there.
[ooc: Mingle post! Feel free to make your own top levels and tag around and have fun. Also, in the picture, ignore the hat for WangJi’s robes. He’s not wearing a hat]

Wedding Couple at the reception!
no subject
Regardless of his lack of social grace, he is aware of customs, at least surrounding Japanese weddings and this one is fairly formal seeming, so he will bow appropriately. "Congratulations and warm wishes to both of you on your wedding day."

"Congratulations, both of you," he said with a smile, when it was his turn to greet them. "I hope you have many long years together."

As Glorfindel approached them, WangJi clasped his hand and bowed to him. "Thank you. I appreciate that you came to our wedding."

Here for both!
But he bows to the couple, dressed in something that felt appropriate, smiling as bright as he can manage these days, and says, "Many congratulations to you - and many happy returns! May you always bless each other with your love and presence."
Possibly much to ask on this train? But these two deserved it.

He unlooped his arm from around WuXian, because let's face it, he probably had his arm around him most of the time they weren't eating or greeting guests.
"Thank you. That is very kind of you to say. Thank you for coming to celebrate with it."

Reaching up, he rubs at the back of his neck sheepishly. "I know it's not a normal wedding gift, or anything. But alcohol is hard to get here, and it was something I could offer that isn't easy to get either."
no subject
"Thank you for the kind words and for the gift. That is very nice of you."

He makes a bow, "Congratulations to you both. May you live a long happy life together."

"Those are nice sunglasses," he added.
This was the best present ever, having his family at his wedding.

He bowed formally to them. "My best wishes, both of you: may you be happy, and may you love for all eternity!" Of course, they were mortals and would not live forever, but mortal spirits journeyed to an afterlife world and thus all true lovers would meet again, even if separated in this life. He smiled at them both and was pleased to be a witness to their happiness.

There's already a tea-stain on the cardigan, having walked a little too fast holding two overfull cups for the couple, but she manages not to spill any more as she sets them down. Her skirts almost end up in one mug as she flops down; she catches the edge in time and smooths them out. Success.
"They wouldn't give me any wine, so you both have tea." It would be an apology, but she's obviously just making talk.

Lan Xichen
To cover his own occasional distraction, he steps a little to the side of the car once the reception begins, takes out his flute, and provides the gentle sound of some of the (unpowered) melodies from the Cloud Recesses. A blessing that runs deeper than the words he might have managed earlier. From his heart.

They might not know the grooms incredibly well, or at least, Senku didn't but an excuse for a gathering and some kind of romantic thing was right up his boyfriend's alley.
Besides, what else were they going to do trapped on a train traversing a void?
He met Gen in the dressing car. "We'd better find something to wear."
[It's not a party if there's not a ton of food, right? - open]
Senku could be found easily enough, dressed in a proper kimono and haori, his hair pulled up into a proper ponytail, tied with a medium sized rope, which while it didn't match had its own significance to him.
He helped himself to a plate of food and settled in the corner. He's in a decent mood too, after the faire although he's probably halfway through a bite when someone gets too close.
"Hey, how's it going." He said, covering his mouth a bit. That was semi-polite, right?
He was going to be social until he reached the point he couldn't anymore, he's at least going to try and enjoy the party for what it is.

He smiled at Senku and then looked around. "At least some of these options are pretty familiar, aren't they, my dear? Though I don't see any beige for you."
Just gently teasing.

Having found the perfect kimono, Ichigo was more than happy to attend the wedding. He hadn't been to one before, especially from a different culture. But the foods all looked great, and he was looking forward to seeing Grimmjow in the kimono he'd handed the man.

He opened with his favorite flute music and then moved on to guitar.
He started with Dark Red Clouds, and then a miscellany of tunes. Then he moved on to Irish/Elvish flute music, Hope Greenlands, Aoibheann. And then to a type of guitar music that was endowed with a subtle fire, Awakening, Between Fire and Water, Concerto de Aranjuez.
He took breaks to go and congratulate the wedding couple and talk to others as well.

But music, music he can do. Once Curufin turns to guitar, Xichen settles next to him with his xiao, and listens with his eyes closed for a couple of airs before joining with his take on the melodies he is hearing. The soft sound of the vertical flute doesn't waver.

This is a celebration, after all! His fathers' wedding of all things and he hopes everything goes as smoothly as the ceremony completion. (Desperately, he tries not to cry, although to no avail, so let's just nevermind that!) However, nobody should blame him, given how important it is that this has finally happened.
After it's said and done, the deal is sealed, he can be found thanking people for coming, distributing food with gentle suggestions or perhaps even somewhere off to the side playing softly on his guqin.
