Wedding Day - Open Mingle

Who: WangJi, WuXian, and anyone who wants to come
Where: Dressing Car and Gym Car
When: Day 29
What: WuXian and WangJi get married again. Wedding and Reception
Warnings: Aside from gratuitous pdas from the newlyweds? Probably nothing. Let me know if something needs to be added

The day had quickly arrived after the date had been picked out. The dressing car was opened by the train, letting everyone who wished to attend go to pick out something formal to wear for the event, and very early in the morning, the gym had been decorated appropriately for the Chinese wedding ceremony, mostly in the color red with some gold mixed in. Near the door of the carriage was a banner with Chinese characters written on it, including the double happiness symbol.

For the ceremony itself, a low table was set out with a few items. The grooms entered, both WangJi and WuXian wearing red robes had been made by the resident spider, embroidered with gold designs of forest animals. WangJi's normally white forehead ribbon had even been replaced with a red and WuXian had a red veil. With their attendants there to assist, the wedding ceremony began.

As the pair approached the table, WuXian on one side and WangJi on the other, they alternated bowing to each other three times before kneeling. With the help of their attendants, they each drank a cup of tea, which they used their long sleeves as though hiding that they were doing so behind them. Once they had put the cups down, WangJi reached up, pushing the veil back so that he could see WuXian’s face before removing the forehead ribbon he’d been wearing. Taking WuXian’s hand, he used to make kind of a loose knot between their two wrists, a Gusu Lan symbol that WuXian was his fated partner. Then as they carefully stood, WangJi leaned in to kiss WuXian before they both bowed to their attendants, thanks for assisting them and being there for them.

Soon after the room was ready for the reception, the feast prepared for the couple and for their guests, which had been prepared by helpful volunteered, attempting to make as many traditional dishes as they could with the offerings that the train had.

As the wedding couple, they were rather happily seated together of course. WangJi had since replaced the forehead ribbon on his head, but the question would be how long it stayed there.

[ooc: Mingle post! Feel free to make your own top levels and tag around and have fun. Also, in the picture, ignore the hat for WangJi’s robes. He’s not wearing a hat]

Of course, Lan Xichen of all people would be the one to catch him while he's crying! The hand at his shoulder draws his attention first, has his head turning, eyes widening with momentary shock. “Ah!” Then Sizhui lifts his hand on the opposite side, gently wiping at his face with his sleeve. “I know that I shouldn't...”

But he hesitates, glances toward Xichen's hand and straightens, turning toward him to bow politely while segueing into a different subject instead, “What do you think? Is everything as it should be?”

Xichen shakes his head. "Restraint means that you do not give over to extremes, and that you keep a clear enough head to do right. Tears of joy, as you are allowing yourself - they are not something that breaks the rules. Emotions are wild and complicated, and many of the rules are to protect from the intensity of them. You need not worry that you are doing something wrong."

And then, to the question, he hums. "It is as they want it to be. The binding is in their hearts," and bodies, but let's not discuss that with the nephew just now, "and so all is as it should be."

Hearts are wild creatures, that's why our ribs are cages,’ is the immediate thing coming to mind from a book of poems he's read. They're that and are also most definitely complicated, but as Xichen has pointed out, good tears aren't something he ought to feel bad about. This is a happy day, after all, and surely he isn't the only one who's cried a little at a wedding. “Mmn,” Sizhui affirms, “as you say, Zewu-jun.”

A nod following that then he lowers the hand to his chin, looking more thoughtful now. Honestly, he'd meant the decorations and such, though after considering, that's just as good an answer (but he's thankful for not including the body talk, too). “I'm glad we were here to witness it.”
