Jelly 3: Orange Team meet(ing) and mingle
Who: Orange Team (+ anyone else?)
Where: Music Car (top level)
When: Jelly 3:, morningish.
What: Orange Team meet(ing) and mingle
Warnings: None? - there is an OOC post to go with this!
Either Eva or Curufin, or they both use the ICP to remind Orange Team of the meeting. "Orange Team, please report to the Music Carriage for a Team Meeting. It isn't mandatory, but we do encourage everyone to attend as there’s things that need to be sorted out in terms of team structure. If you need a bribe: we have snacks."
For this meeting, Eva's commandeered the top of the Music carriage, given the number of people in the team, and notable, she has Lele out, the porygon2 set to record the meeting so the minutes can later be printed out.
Food-wise, there's there's enough food and far too many oran, pinap, and cheri berries across numerous bowls. There's also bags of sweets and lollies spread across several bowls and room for any other food that’s either been made or scrounged up from the kitchens.

The Leaders (please specify who you want!)
She steps back and Curufin steps up to add his two cents’ worth: “We’re also looking for Lead and Junior Medics, People to watch the Comms while we are on Mission, and any other roles you feel needed that will make the team as effective as possible.
Also, if you have unanswered questions about Team Orange or the Voidtrecker Express, feel free to ask me or Eva.
And, please, enjoy the refreshments!"
Eva!
"I don't think I'm really... ready for being a leader? To be honest, I'm still not sure what I'd be good at. But I know tech, so if you're okay with it, I could handle the comms."
Either one
"I would be a good medic, I have a white band and I am a doctor." He pointed out.
"But if there's something more suitable that's fine too. I have a lot of skills, I'm happy to offer them."

Sorry I never got back to this thread! This is a wrap anyway, since I'm on hiatus.
Yep, enjoy your break see you when you get back :D
Either is fine!
"I don't want to step on anyone's toes or usurp someone's role, and I am willing to step aside for those more experienced with this than I am, or who the others might know or trust better." She does need to be more forward in her attempts to meet the rest of the train's denizens, she knows that. And she also knows that no one is likely to follow a leader they're unfamiliar with or don't know. Granted, even if she is assigned a role, it wouldn't be the One and Only, but she knows people, if she knows nothing else.
"Either way, I'm willing to follow what needs be done and you two would know best."

Okay, he will make a suggestion. "I don't know if this appeals to you, but the train is now providing us with mission comms. It takes a lot of attention to keep track of what's going on, even just with Team Orange, let alone all the other teams. If you are interested, you might give the communicator's role a try. If not, we'll think up something else."

Want to wrap this one and catch up somewhere in the future?
Either
"We want to help, but I don't think we'd be of much use for any of those."

Either
"I don't want to take an official role in the team structure," he says. "But I'll help wherever I can. I'm not a medic, but I do know a lot about emergency treatments for different injuries."

Re: The Leaders (please specify who you want!)
S'reee once had to spend some days coordinating every wizard in Earth's oceans (that hadn't temporarily lost their wizardry, hence delegating the youngest Senior to the top post) during a crisis. It's not something she wants to repeat for at least a few decades.
"I'm also one of the people with first-aid abilities."
no subject
Crisis situations do tend to bring out the leader in anyone who has that capacity.
"First aid skills would be welcome. The more people on the team who have them, the better. We never know what kind of situation we're walking into."

Curufin probably but either would be OK
"It seems that there are several here who are qualified for the medics positions, and yet I feel like speaking up for the junior one should be right - even if I do not officially take up a position, it would be good for people to know to call on me.
"While not a medic, I have some knowledge of acupuncture, which can be of assistance in an emergency - to decrease pain and bleeding. Also, I can transfer spiritual energy which strengthens the body and can make a difference in some situations. Additionally, I can infuse spiritual energy in some of the Songs, which can soothe the mind as well as the body.
"And I can - probably carry most of the passengers over quite a distance, in case they need to be taken out of immediate danger, or back to the train. It is not efficient as calling on the Unnamed Spider or others who can travel instantaneously, but it might help when such might not be possible."
Lans have immense arm strength on top of high cultivation, so even if he may look ephemeral or even a little frail, he is not overstating what he is offering.

Curufin nods. "Being able to carry injured people to safety and care is also a needed function. I can do that myself, though I'm not officially a medic. We don't always have our spider friend or anyone else who can teleport, and a strong pair of arms and shoulders are always useful."
He's aware that the Lans are strong. Being slender and graceful doesn't mean a person can't have strength.
Probably Curufin (Sorry, Eva, being a leader of any kind sounds intimidating to him.)
How hard can healing be?
He hopes it's not hard.He hesitates on it for a minute or two, but with all his willpower, he finally raises a hand and calls out.
"I... I'd like to join the medics and help where I can!"
Please, he just wants to be useful. But now he's so nervous about it. What if he doesn't fit in here, either?

Eva | OTA
Eva's pretty sure by the time any planning/etc is done, she's going to either have a headache, or have talked herself into croaking. Or both. Either way, it's a very good distraction from the Realities of the train, thank you very much.
That said, when she's not Doing Leadery Things or Socializing, she can be found nursing a mug of some very spicy juice (cheri and pinap berries), a distant look to her eyes.
There's much going on in her mind and she doesn't like being idle. Not right now. Not when she's got far too many feelings of helplessness and selfishness and a desire to not lose any more of her friends or found family.
Yet, somehow, she still manages to offer a smile if someone comes up to her. "Hey, what's up?"
Pokemon
Naturally, at some point, her pokemon are going to come up, though rather than take up valuable space by having them out, Eva's dropped her pokebelt and the attached tennisball-sized 'balls (pokeball, premierball, and levelball) onto the table, and Roro is hovering by her shoulder, cycling through a number of different pictures, including Princess and Dancer's.
There's wistful if not thoughtful look on her face and if approached, everyone gets a sheepish blink or two. "Hmm? Sorry. Lost in thought, I guess."
Nita (OTA)
Perhaps you're suggesting a role, or thinking over one yourself; perhaps you have an entirely different question. In any case, she's here to help - without being too much in the way!

"Guns. If I'm gonna do this thing, I need a frickin' gun. We got any?"
no subject
[She's saying this right behind him. Literally dropped in silently like a spider from above him, using her hair. Surprise.]
no subject
"Yes! Laser guns - she's absolutely right. Thank you, princess. Laser guns are the shit and I want two of them pronto."
[He glances over his shoulder at her and grins.] "We do? Good. You any good at building them? I could draw you up some blueprints if you need.

Demyx | OTA
Demyx nabbed three bags of sweets and set himself up in a corner, to observe, and fade into the background.
He wasn't planning on speaking up, he was going to nibble on candy and do his best not to be noticed. It was hard not to be though, when one looked like some kind of Halloween spawn.
Senku Ishigami | OTA
Senku was looking relaxed, but listening. He'd volunteer in a moment or two to help with whatever they wanted.
Otherwise, it was a rare time to see him without a project in hand.
kaiba | ota
Kaiba is largely sticking to the wall for this one. Public-facing roles clearly don't work for him here---he's learned that the hard way. He's silent through the leadership discussion, and can be found lurking menacingly.
(Or not. He's just a little grumpy, but doesn't bite. Usually.)
just one idea
Eventually, he steps forward at a quiet moment, carrying an electrical wiring kit in front of him. He's cobbled it together himself from spare parts, so it's not exactly pristine, but it works. There's a lightbulb attached to the top.
"Hi. I'm Seto Kaiba, if you don't know me."
Yeah...exciting, right?
"If you haven't been on a mission yet, Orange missions are the least combat-focused of the groups. We're usually solving technical problems, running supplies, or gathering information. Sometimes all three. You don't have to stay with us if another group's mission would suit you better---the train will tell us what it knows of what we're doing before we split up."
"So this is a wiring kit, and I have a circuitry kit back in my room if anyone wants to learn basic repairs. We've needed those skills almost every mission---it doesn't mean you have to learn them, we typically have enough mechanics for, but it's an option. I can teach, and if anyone else has additions I'm all ears."
He steps back a little, looking a little out of practice when it comes to talking. Well, offer's out there now.
Idea with a bit of lurking
And that means talking to this Seto Kaiba, despite the intimidating air that hangs over him.
(Admittedly, that could well be Ryo's own anxiousness coloring his view of the situation; that said, he's well aware of the fact that just because nobody's bitten his head off yet for asking questions doesn't mean nobody will.)
It takes him a few seconds to work up his nerve. "Um." Not a strong start, but he can't well back out now. "About the kit - do...do you think you could teach someone who hasn't...seen anything like that before?"
