[ On the evening of Nebula 18, Seto pops onto the ICP screens. The only thing different about his appearance is that his hair is slicked back (someone's experimenting), and he clears his throat. ]

...Good evening. We hinted at it during our game the other day, and we've told a few of our closest friends, but it's official. Yugi and I are getting married tomorrow night. We realize it's last minute, but a few recent circumstances forced our hands and we didn't find it prudent to wait anymore.

As it's last minute, we don't expect a lot of company, but anyone's welcome to witness it. Don't worry, it's going to be a very quick ceremony by wedding standards. We'll also have light snacks afterward.

[ After...not that much planning, to be honest, the day is here. The gym is clean, with about 30 chairs lined up in front of a clear space. A small smattering of blue and purple balloons decorates the hall, and overall it's just set up to be a quiet commitment ceremony.

Let's see if it stays that way. ]

Morning (Yugi)

[ The big day is here. Not that they've been in planning mode for all that long relative to most Earth weddings, but this is happening.

...weren't they supposed to separate the night before? Another thing he forgot, but that's fine. He decides to gently wake Yugi with a kiss, idly playing with a blond clump of hair as he tends to. ]

Hey. How are you feeling?

Prep

[ There's not much to do, it's not the most elaborate of ceremonies. Just a few balloons to place, some seating to obtain, and of course, getting dressed. The dressing car is open for any visitors (thank you, train), but the grooms to be have matching suits prepared. ]

Pillow Hunt

[ It's early yet. Seto's still wearing his orange uniform, rushing down the train. knocking on doors of people he knows (and maybe a few he doesn't, if he's desperate). Hopefully some of them haven't left yet. ]

...It's difficult to explain, but I need to borrow about 30 pillows from some cabins. They'll all be returned by the end of the night.

[ He at least manages to look sheepish, knowing how odd this request is. ]

Last second jitters

[ Time for the serious preparation. Seto's well-practiced at putting a suit on and straightening it, but anyone selecting their own clothes in the dressing car will see how many times a sleeve can be pressed and re-pressed.

Should he slick his hair back? He pushes it up, frowns, and drops it. No. ]

Hm.

Arrivals

[ The setup is very simple. The ping pong table's still there too. Maybe there's a post-nup 'duel' planned. A few balloons frame an 'altar', and extra fluffy cushions are sitting on cobbled-together chairs (thanks Elidibus). Blue and purple glittering lights occasionally cross the walls, courtesy of a reprogrammed duel disk sharing some projections.

Yeah, they were desperate. Settle in, have a chat, the grooms will be with you shortly. ]

Ceremony

[ It's time. Rather than one of them walking down the aisle, they've chosen to approach from opposite sides of the room. Time to lock eyes, smile...and take some vows in front of a few friends. ]

Afterparty

[ There's no formal receiving line, just a clear space toward the other end of the gym. They've managed to set out a few snacks: not the classiest, more cheese and crackers and little bits of vegetables, though donations are welcome.

Seto's laptop is here, playing a few odd tunes he'd saved over the years. Just enough music to be passable for a dance. ]

[It was a bit early. As such Silvia was wearing the outfit she'd fallen asleep in and was rubbing the sleep from one of her eyes when she opened the door.

Lunja and Saqqara yawned in turn, the latter just rotating and curling into a tighter ball and the former groggily joining Silvia at the door to stare up at the sleep depriver.]

Seto?.. [She proceeded to say something else but it was mostly incoherent mumblings] Yeah, yeah.. sure... [She reached over to one of the unoccupied bunks and thrust the pillows off of that one into his hands, not really questioning it. It sounded urgent..] Oh- there's another empty bed too... hold on.

Bringing a cake and sweet treats!

[Donations are forthcoming too. There hadn't been much notice about the happy couples nuptials but luckily baked goods generally didn't take that much time. When Silvia tried to subtly sneak over to load up more goodies on the tables she tsked a little when she saw the spread. It wasn't terrible- I mean she could have found something to eat but... it hardly seemed complete somehow.

Her Eevee, Lunja, had a tray strapped to her back, and was carting in a smattering of sugar cookies shaped like Kuribohs, with little frosting eyes. Being a small pokemon it couldn't carry much but wanted to be useful so Silvia had capitulated easily.

Silvia herself was carrying a layer cake and a bag with more of the cookies. Finding a clear spot she started setting them up, giving a satisfied sigh. Upon reflection she hoped.. well.. the cake didn't look too out of place. She had intended to include blue as well.. but she'd used too much food coloring to make the variations in purple... oh well. It was probably .. fine.]

It's good to see you.

[ Seto doesn't look much better, to be honest. Not with all the last minute flailing. He smiles as he grabs hold of the pillows. ]

Did you hear your invitation?

[blue_ice]

[ Seto is aware that they rushed a few things. He's paying dearly for some mistakes, but here...look, Silvia was kind enough to clean up his mess in one respect.

He bustles over to help her put everything in place. ]

...I didn't know your skills had artistic flair too.

[storms_eye]

Mm.. Same.

[There's a reason why Silvia is quite so tired, and still in daywear. So Yes, she had received the invitation but she decided to play it casual as not to give away her own surprise prematurely.]

Invitation?

[Starting to feel a little more awake, it was easier to strip the other bed of it's fluffy head rests]

To my wedding to Yugi?

[ He looks...apologetic. ]

I know we're springing it on people, but we made the decision recently and with how quickly we've been losing our friends at platform stops, we didn't want to wait anymore.

[storms_eye]

[She gave a little jump at his approach, but thankfully had already placed the cake down on the table beforehand.]

That's.. uh.. part of the fun isn't it? The embellishments.

[Lunja arched her back to indicate that her cookies shouldn't be forgotten, and Silvia leaned down to take them from her companion]

I just hope these will be enough.

Oh! You're making it official then.

[Silvia brightened up, handing over the other two pillows. That was at least 4 to get Kaiba started.]

It's alright, no need to explain. Couples decide when to hold their weddings all the time. Besides, it's not like I have anything pressing to do most days. I can be there.

[Not wanting to linger on the bittersweet thoughts of loved ones that already left for parts unknown she tried to rush past the reasoning. Today should, and would be a happy occasion]

I'm just surprised it took you two this long. [Leaning over to nudge him with her elbow]

We're not expecting much of a crowd. A few close friends.

[ He smiles at the Kuriboh cookies as he passes them over. ]

They're perfect, Silvia. How can I repay you?

[ He bristles a little at the teasing, but it's only a playful huff. She's fine, it's all good. Still smiling. ]

I wasn't sure if I'd ever be ready. I never saw myself settling down, but when Yugi looked at me like that...I knew.

It was the strangest feeling, but I won't regret it.

[Ken's decided to get dressed up, but he can't help but notice Seto fiddling with his shirt and his hair. He wanders over to Seto and puts a hand on his elbow.]

Stop. You look fine.

[Another wedding. Before coming to the train she had only ever been to a wedding once and she had definitely not been an invited guest.

But on this train a lot of people got married. She has dressed up and stands looking around. She doesn't know either Kaiba or Yugi very well, but there was always food at weddings and that was enough to draw her to them.]

[ Ken's here. Thank goodness. Seto glances at him, unsure, and then slowly lowers his hands. ]

We rushed most of the planning. We both wanted to...but no matter what, I won't disappoint him today.

[blue_ice]

[ Should one of the grooms really be playing usher? Probably not, but every other part of their planning has been unconventional. He straightens his suit and approaches. ]

Thanks for joining us. You can sit anywhere you want...

[ And because he's in such a good mood and he knows kids, and their patience (or lack thereof) for ceremonies, he adds in a playful voice: ]

We won't be long. I promise. And then you can raid the snack table.

... I don't know anything about romance or weddings or anything like that but... you love him, right? So I don't think you could disappoint him.

Screw what everyone else thinks. Today's about you and him. You could show up in your pajamas and it'd still be fine.

Ah Kaiba. [Taiki hadn't expected to see him here, but where else would he be getting ready truly?]

How are you? Do you need help?

[He looks nervous, which was understandable. Wedding days would be nervewracking he was sure.]

Like these pajamas?

[ On a whim, Seto plunges his hand into his suit and pulls out the locket: yes, he's still wearing it. The ring is no longer on the chain, now safely guarded by their adorable ringbearers, but the familiar card is there.

He opens it, revealing two pictures: a boy with messy black hair, about four or five years old. And next to it, Seto and Yugi, wearing tie-dyed neon onesies, arms around each other like they just came off the dance floor. ]

This was a few days after we arrived here. Most of the people we met then are gone by now...and I was still getting used to the idea of us not being enemies anymore. He's a lightweight, and when I sampled the spirits, this happened.

Our first dance.

Taiki. It's good to see you again.

[ Kaiba gives him a respectful nod and a smile. ]

Largely reassurance that I'm not about to make a fool of us. We threw all of this together in less than a week, and I'm hoping that was the right decision. Simple or not, long or short...the vows are the important thing. Right?
