Day 19 - Time for a Wedding

Where: Garden carriage and then gym car
When: Day 19 of Egret
What: Wedding! Wedding reception and lots of food.
Warnings: Pretty much up in the air. But there will likely a lot of PDA's from the wedding couple during the reception... because that's how they roll

Finally, it was Day 19, the day that WangJi and WuXian had chosen for their wedding.

Ceremony
Inside the garden, everything had been decorated in red and gold, traditional colors for a wedding in China. There were flowers and a low table set up.

As the ceremony begins, Lan WangJi and Wei WuXian enter with Lan Sizhui and Wen Qing as their attendants. The wedding clothes for WangJi and WuXian are also red, with designs of forest animals in the designs sewn in, including frogs and rabbits. All of this was courtesy of their friendly neighborhood spider. WuXian was also wearing a red veil over his hair and face. Even WangJi’s ever-present forehead ribbon was red today instead of white.

As the pair approached the table, WuXian on one side and WangJi on the other, they alternated bowing to each other three times before kneeling. With the help of their attendants, they each drank a cup of tea, which they used their long sleeves as though hiding that they were doing so behind them. Once they had put the cups down, WangJi reached up, pushing the veil back so that he could see WuXian’s face before removing the forehead ribbon he’d been wearing. Taking WuXian’s hand, he used to make kind of a loose knot between their two wrists, a Gusu Lan symbol that WuXian was his fated partner. Then as they carefully stood, WangJi leaned in to kiss WuXian before they both bowed to their attendants, thanks for assisting them and being there for them.

Reception
Following the wedding ceremony itself, the party then moved to the gym car, where the reception and feast were being held. Like the decorations for the wedding, it was also a lot of red and gold. To those who didn’t know beforehand, it would likely be obvious that red and gold here very important.

Lots of food cooked by wonderful volunteers from the train. Of course, there had to be dessert, which was the cake baked by the couple’s son, Lan Sizhui.

As the wedding couple, they were rather happily seated together of course. WangJi had since replaced the forehead ribbon on his head, but there was a high likelihood that sometime during the party WuXian was going to end up wearing it around his wrist.

Inigo is super giddy because of the ceremony. Weddings were rare where he's from, after all, so he treasures being able to see something as beautiful and sweet as one all the more. And.. well, okay, maybe he's also just giddy since he's here with his boyfriend, sue him!

Anyone might find Inigo and Yuki standing around the reception in matching outfits. Usually Inigo would be a little quicker to greet people, but right now he seems to not be doing much more than just staring into Yuki's eyes with the dumbest grin on his face. Anyone who wants to approach them is free to do so though.. it's just probably easier to catch Yuki's attention first.

Or maybe you just happen to be nearby at the exact same moment as when Inigo decides it's a great idea to try to handfeed his boyfriend some cake in front of everyone in a giddy fit, which only seems to embarrass Yuki and make Inigo stumble back-- and bump right into you. Whoops. Sure hope you weren't holding anything to eat or drink with everyone wearing these fancy clothes!

Nita misses out on the cake handfeeding - which would have disappointed her, if she'd known it was coming.

But seeing the couple is indeed lovely. And she can't help just a little teasing.

"How are you boys doing today?" she asks, grinning broadly with a small plate of sweets in one hand. "You certainly look like you belong here together."

The ceremony was beautiful and he didn't want to go over the things Inigo was saying during it. Maybe that was the reason for the grin on the other's face too.

He didn't appreciate the cake shenanigans and just turned his head away. However, he stashed some away for later because private was another thing entirely.

Yuki's not sure what to do when he hears someone approaching but social manners are something he's familiar with. So there's a slight smile with a reply.

"Doing well thank you for asking. How are you?"

But when Nita says it looks like they belong there together, his brain freezes up.

Nita! That's exactly one of the people who can manage to snap Inigo out of it and get off cloud nine for a moment. Just the sound of her voice is enough to make his head turn and look at her - even with the dumb grin still plastered all across it. That isn't leaving, especially not in the company of a dear friend and his new boyfriend.

(Apparently the teasing is totally going over his head for the moment. He's too far gone into la la love land. Does he even notice Yuki freezing up? Who knows.)

"Nita! I'm having the time of my life!" At her remark, he's totally hooking his arm with Yuki's. Proudly. Giddily. He knows Nita is smart enough to pick up on what's going on here without him having to spell it out.

"I'm doing alright, thanks," Nita returns to Yuki, trying not to grin too broadly at his expense.

"You definitely look it! It's the outfits," she continues, nodding.

"They match."

She'll give Yuki a minute to unstick his brain, and Inigo one to perhaps realize Yuki's brain has stuck...

When Inigo hooked his arm around his, suddenly he was brought back to the present and what in the world was with that expression on his face? Why was he smiling so much? Not that he would tell the warrior he couldn't smile, it was just..so weird still..somewhere.

The outfits..oh so that's why she thought as she did..well that made sense. That was Inigo's idea, Yuki himself had felt pulled (surprisingly) to wear an outfit that reminded him of the one he wore for the New Year Sohma zodiac banquet.

"I..see. Well thank you." There was a genuine smile at Nita even if Inigo was still stuck in la la land.

Inigo keeps smiling happily as she points out the matching outfits. Since yes, those are very much matching on purpose. Inigo isn't used to this style of clothes at all, but he just insisted on wearing something that matched what Yuki wanted.

At least he finally glances over at the other, seeming to realise Yuki's brain might be slightly more stuck than his own over this whole 'looking like a couple in front of others' deal. So while he doesn't let go of the boy's arm, he does try to ease up a little on the lovestruck smile. (It's hard!)

"Hey, don't worry! You don't have to be shy in front of Nita, she's seen me do at least a dozen embarrassing things already at this point." And she's never judged him. Well, not in any serious way, at least. Which is why he seems so comfortable right now. "She's one of my good friends here."

It's that which makes him glance back over at Nita with a smile. "Right?" He feels fairly confident about that fact, honestly, but he just doesn't want to seem like he's ignoring her.

"It's true," Nita confirms, snickering just a little.

"And Inigo's a friend of mine right back," she adds, looking right at Inigo as well.

He didn't have to look at her, but she could provide affirmation right back at him~

"So, Yuki, how's the train life treating you? We were picked up at the same time, right?"

Only to himself did Yuki admit it was odd to see someone dressing like he did. He figured Inigo would want to wear something more befitting of who and what he was, considering the clothing had been readily available. He'd even held up a few of the outfits and he got a head shake every time he did so, it was just odd.

But he feels the tug on his arm and the silvery head shook this time. "That sounds about right." He really didn't know what to say, but Inigo and embarrassment went hand in hand. It was just the way that the boy operated it seemed.

Turning to Nita he nodded. "Yes I believe we were. But as far as the train goes, it seems to be a little crowded."

He's definitely stupidly grinning as Nita repeats the part about them being friends back to him. It's nice to hear even if he already knew it.

Yuki's comment has him looking at the other boy, but he opts to shut up for a moment so Yuki and Nita can talk for a second without Inigo's constant rambling interrupting it. The fact that the train has a lot of people isn't a problem to him, but then again, he does guess Yuki is more introverted than Inigo himself is.

"I know what you mean," Nita says, agreeing with Yuki.

"Though it's definitely a recent development. I think Buttercup was saying there were only ten or so to start with...?"

Which was just another way in which this whole thing was unprecedented.

"Only ten?" Yuki asked with surprise. Ten? "And if that's true..she's been here that long..." Gray eyes went to Inigo for a moment. If that was the way it was she'd been trapped on this train with no way home for so very long. If she couldn't get off of it on her own, they might be here for that long or longer.

This couple that had just gotten married was banking on being here with each other for a long time. Is that something they should do? No because what if everyone went home and? The silver head shook and his gaze returned to Nita.

"It doesn't seem to be in a hurry to let any of us go."

Ten people does seem like a huge difference from how the train is now. They must have at least ten times that amount of people by now.. And although Inigo does look like he's trying to take that thought in for a moment, he either doesn't seem to share the worry going through Yuki's mind or doesn't show it, since he still acts pretty casual when he pipes up.

"That much is true. Although it feels like more people arrive than leave, it still feels completely random as to which people disappear." After all, Yuki was among the people who disappeared before, only to return.. He thinks about bringing up that fact, since he's sure Nita would find it interesting, but he also doesn't want to make some sort of zoo exhibit out of poor Yuki either. So he keeps it to himself. "Although I personally don't mind the idea of staying here longer too terribly."

Curufin is here with his flute, which he was playing during and after the ceremony, but at the moment he's carrying the instrument in one hand and looking around for people to greet. He's wearing a trim burgundy suit, having opted to have his outfit fall somewhere within the color range favored at these kinds of ceremonies but in modern style.

He is just in time to get bumped by Inigo, who was trying to feed Yuki some cake. Curufin laughs and answers, "No apologies! No harm done."

Inigo got a look from Yuki as he bumped into someone unfamiliar. Familiar in the sense that the silvery haired man had seen him but had never gotten a chance to meet or introduce himself. He looked otherworldly, like he didn't quite belong except with other people who looked like him. So immediately he was embarrassed.

First point at being embarrassed, there was the whole cake thing. Yuki tried repeatedly (and failed) to explain to Inigo that this wasn't their wedding and there was no reason to do such a thing. However, the warrior could be as hard headed as Kakeru or Haru and not listen to reason. And now Inigo had bumped into the mysterious otherworldly person. So immediately, Curufin received an apologetic and sincere bow.

"I'm so very sorry..I'll keep a better eye on him to keep from running into you."

Curufn wouldn't have wanted anyone to feel embarrassed, especially not because Curufin was of the Elven people and looked a bit otherworldly, at least to eyes that could perceive this.

He returned the bow, with a smile. "No apologies necessary. Inigo is a friend; he gets to bump into me occasionally. I'm Curufin, by the way. Team Orange."

[flatteries]

Whew. It's a real relief that the person he almost bumped into is someone he knows - and someone he knows to be super friendly on top of it! - and that he also didn't make Curufin accidentally drop his flute. He'd feel so bad if something happened to it because of it. But it seems there's no real harm done, so the boy doesn't look too bothered. Not even by Yuki apologizing for him like that either.

There's no bowing on Inigo's end, but he does retreat to Yuki's side like an obedient puppy. A happy obedient puppy, since there's something so cute to him about Yuki saying he'll keep an eye on him.

"I'll use my bumping privileges responsibly!" He jokes with a grin and then moves to try and grab Yuki's hands with one of his own to hold it. "You two haven't met yet? Curufin, this is my boyfriend!"

He'll at least let Yuki introduce himself name-wise, but he can't help but sneak that part in himself, okay. He's just too excited about it. The world has to know!

Curufin's flute is one he constructed in his own world, back in the days when he had all the tools and materials a metalsmith could ever want. It is well-made and very durable, so if it fell, it would only make a startling metallic clank as it hit the floor, and wouldn't be damaged at tall. But of course, Inigo doesn't know that.

Curufin notes Inigo's happiness at having Yuki by his side. It is wonderful, that someone who so deserves to be happy has found someone to be happy with.

He grins at Inigo's responsible bumping joke, and then turns to Yuki with a smile, waiting for him to introduce himself.

Yuki's impressed that his bow was returned but that put him at ease, even as Inigo babbled on and took his hand. Gray eyes searched brown basically silently telling the warrior to behave and to not embarrass either of them further but that last message probably wasn't one that would get through.

How or why the other was just so excited to tell everyone about them was just who he was. It did rattle him a little but then again he wasn't half as effusive as the one holding his hand was.

There was another slight bow to the elf but this time just with the silver head. "I'm Yuki Sohma, member of the Purple team. It's a pleasure to meet you Curufin."

Honestly, Inigo is pretty sure there's not even much he could do to embarrass himself or Yuki in front of Curufin at this point.. The guy is just so nice, it's like everything slides right off him, like water off a duck's back! But since Yuki is silently asking him to behave, Inigo won't call attention to it by replying out loud...

Instead he'll just show he can behave. You know. By shutting up for the moment and not adding anything else embarrassing. He'll let Yuki and Curufin exchange some words - he's more than content to just stick by Yuki's side and silently hold his hand for a few moments.

"Pleased to meet you, Yuki! Purple team must be pleased to have you. How are you getting along? And how was the mission?"

Curufin has never been one to criticize others for acting in such a way as to embarrass themselves. He was so wild in his early youth that he must have embarrassed himself and his family in every conceivable way.

He'll simply be pleased for Inigo and Yuki that they have each other, and that they have each other's backs, as clearly they do.

Well this man was really nice, that was sure. He could feel Inigo holding his hand and he was grateful for the silent support. Inwardly he wondered how the other could say the team was pleased to have him. The only member of the Purple team that had said anything like that stood right next to him and was holding his hand at the moment.

"Everything went well..considering it could've been worse." He'd stuck to his plan of sticking by Inigo and trying to protect him and if nothing else, that worked. "How did the mission go over for the Orange Team?"

Inigo already looks like an excited puppy whenever Curufin compliments him, but for some reason he seems to look even more excited when Curufin is saying something nice about Yuki instead. Even if Inigo may not know everything about Yuki's life back home yet, it does seem like he's in severe need of more people being nice to him. He knew he could count on Curufin of all people for this, the other guy is like a positivity and compliments machine!

"Yuki was great! Even better than me, considering it was his first mission, honestly." He laughs though once Yuki asks that question, adding with a wink aimed at the elf-- "You didn't get lost in any mazes this time, right?"

Curufin nods happily when Yuki says the mission went well. He had hoped it did, especially considering that Purple Team had gone off to deal with considerable danger. And he does enjoy being positive and giving people positive feedback for who they are and what they accomplish. It seems an essential social service, and he's dedicated himself to it. He's very pleased that Yuki and Inigo have each other, for friendship, for love, for support. They're proud of each other, and what could be better?

"Team Orange did all right too. We kept the shield stations up and running and we fought off a few waves of Empire soldiers. I went to help Red Team after Tony called for reinforcements, and we did get control of that mega-weapon. We also closed the second wormhole." He laughs. "I shouldn't say 'we,' actually, since what I did was mainly distract the Empire forces so that others could deal with the mega-weapon and the wormhole. I had just barely enough time to get back to Team Orange and fight our team's last battle." He grins. He wouldn't have missed any of it for anything.

He smiles at both Inigo and Yuki. "No, I didn't get lost in any mazes. Amazing, right?" He winks back.

It wasn't his first mission or so he didn't think so but that part kind of confused him so he remained silent and nodded. It was best just to go along and hopefully just kind of fade into the background so these two could talk.

However. "Mister Stark asked for back up?" And that was before the rest of what the Red Team had been assigned to do went by and almost over his head. Gray eyes blinked at hearing the mission report and about Curufin fighting off wave after wave of Empire soldiers. Compared to what he was hearing about the Red and Orange teams, Purple had it easy.

He almost asked if he could be taught to fight like Curufin, but he would ask privately and he may even have to explain why. But at least the elf knew Inigo and that would help.
