Event: Abort! Part Two (day 25, Egret). Luggage carriage
They are on world world#27462947582 for about five hours, helping, ushering people out of the city, fighting monsters, keeping guard. All seems well in the city itself, peaceful even except for the slight panic of people being told to move south.
Wherever they are, north in the desert, travelling through the countryside to the south or still in the city itself they will notice from their peripheral vision a darkening of the sky. Looking up they will see clouds. Strange clouds, appearing in the blue sky out of nowhere.
Their SCA’s start beeping, rapidly, flashing red. The clouds are too weird to be clouds, dark shapes in the sky. It might be that the Voidtreckers heed the warning and tap their SCA to evacuate to the train. It might be that they do not.
If they don’t then there is a moment, a moment of absolute stillness as those around them notice the shapes. A confused pause. Children stop their chatter, people stop their complaining, even the monsters seem to sense something and pause in their attacks.
The remaining voidtreckers are yanked away, even without pressing their SCA, they glow gold and disappear.
They all appear in the luggage carriage and not even a second later, with no warning the train lurches, flinging everyone off their feet as it enters the void.
It’s not really easy to tell speed in the void, but they will get the sense that they are moving fast. Faster than before, leaving that world and whatever those shapes were behind.

"Ai, but our family tree begins to look extremely tangled! Poor Elrond, doubtless he did not wish to be reminded!"
no subject
no subject
"True. Ah, but love when found can move mountains. I am glad they were happy, although I grieve with Elrond."
no subject
"As do we all," Glorfindel said. "Celeborn is not sailing until after she passes. It was an easier choice for him since he is Sindar and has never been to Valinor, but I know he misses Galadriel more and more each day."
no subject
"Then she will have family, that is good! It will be a grievous parting, but having kin will make it a little kinder. I do hope to meet Lord Celeborn - Artanis was such a wilful child tis something of a shock to meet her as a Lady in her own right! And I have met young Celebrian, who is an absolute gem. I cannot but imagine her father must be someone special."
no subject
"He is!" Glorfindel assured her. "I mean, even without meeting him, look at the evidence. He won Galadriel's heart and has been married to her for over two Ages. They met in Doriath, which was where he was from. Having met him personally, he comes by the sobriquet 'the Wise' honestly."

Nerdanel makes a pained noise at the thought.
"Ai! That poor girl. I am glad she will have family with her."
Elrond still won't speak of Elros to anyone, so far as she knows, not even to Elwing and Earendil, who must long for news of their long-sundered children. Gil-galad, perhaps, but as isolated as she is, she seldom knows the latest gossip.
She smiles. "He does sound very wise. I do hope he does not stay away too long! I suspect she misses him more than she lets on."
no subject
"Only until Arwen doesn't need him any more. I suspect he misses her a great deal as well. I've gotten to know him a bit better since they sailed. He even shared his Cheese Doriath recipe with me, you know."
no subject
"I am glad... poor Celebrian as well! It is hard on a mother, to know she will not see her children again."
And who knows that better than Nerdanel, after all, whose own children may never return from the Halls, and whose husband almost certainly won't.
"Cheese?" She tips her head curiously.
no subject
"Did you not get any? I can make some more," he said, gesturing at the kitchen.
no subject
"Only if you have the time! I do not wish you to put yourself out! But it does sound very interesting, and the story is very sweet."
no subject
He smiled at her. "Care to join me in the kitchen or sit here and think thoughts until I return?" He finished his cup of tea and stood.
no subject
"Thank you." She says sincerely. "I am glad to have met you here, and I would be glad to join you."
no subject
He offered his arm to walk to the kitchen.
no subject
"My lord, lead the way."
no subject
With a now experienced air, he started the oven to pre-heating, then got out the items he would need. "We have ingredients to make more than a few. Shall we make a large batch?"
no subject
"I am sure others would enjoy sampling."

As the mixture began to bubble, Glorfindel went for the flour and measured it into a bowl.

He cut the butter into the flour for the butter block and then placed it in the refrigerator to chill. Getting out more flour, he mixed the rest of the dry ingredients in with it and set it aside on the counter. He pulled out the eggs and milk for the next bit. "How is our new friend doing?"
no subject
"A nis making lembas! How scandalized everyone would be. I suppose I should... I haven't had cause to make it in so long."
She smiles at the bowl of yeast. "They are coming along just fine!"
no subject
"If you wanted to make some Lembas, I certainly wouldn't say no." He was trying for nonchalant, but was aware of himself enough to know he probably sounded more like a small child asking his parent for a treat. "It might be good for missions?"
He mixed the eggs and other wet ingredients together and prefloured the counter, in preparation. "All right, I'm ready for them now!"
