Let's Have a Party!
Who: Everyone!
What: Throwing a party
Where: Gym carriage
When: Early Evening- early morning, Apple 28
It was three days after the incident with the train and right at two weeks since they'd been allowed to get off this train and roam a new world. Sure somewhere in there, they'd had a brief reprieve involving a new platform and mess of newcomers, but that had hardly counted as a break from the train. So, the point was, they needed a chance to blow off some steam. What better way than organize a party and roll out the last of his ale to share?
He'd recruited Sarai and Maglor to play their harps and/ or sing for music; Ignis, Ash and Evie to make hors d'oeuvres, Dread and Peter to bring in some chairs; and rigged a lamp and some cloth to make a disco ball-like display in the room (which he made Peter to promise not to touch).
Now he just had to get the guests on the dance floor... to harp music? He misses 'regular' music. Sigh.

Renee | OTA
She's also sort of using her powers on it--both for practice, and to speed up or slow down the ball so she can catch it. It's not perfect, especially since she's doing it one-handed. She never did try to harass Lightning for healing, and Renee figures it's probably too late now. Which is no big deal, to her.
It's entirely possible she'll lose control of the ball and send it skittering into the public, but let's hope not...

"Hey there Reness! Oh uh. Reness-Renee. How are you? we haven't talked in a while? I mean I've been out of uh.. stuff? Sorts. Whatever. How are you?" He watches her expectantly.

Renee punctuates 'this' with a little hand-wave at him, and by which she means his state of inebriation. She's not really mad or anything--Renee is far from one to judge, but concerned? Yeah, she is that, just a little.
"You eat anything before your ale-swimming adventure?" Mostly she's playing it off as a joke, but she will try to cram something he can eat in his face if she needs to...

"Anyways, it was awful we're never doing that again and no one needs to know about this happening, yeah? Please don't tell Mr Stark. He might tell Aunt May and I'll be dead. May will kill me. I'll be dead forever." Not that May is even on the train, but Tony might find some way to tell her anyway.

But her eyebrows flew up at his next words. "Whoa whoa whoa, wait, wait! Since when did I look like a responsible adult?" she asked. "No. I don't know what's going on, here. I'll pretend you didn't tell me anything. Tony thinks I'm kind of dumb anyhow, so it'll be fine. But you sit here for a moment." She didn't want the room to start spinning before they could make it to the buffet table.
no subject
"Yeah, okay. You're are awesome Reness-Renee. Can I just cal you Reness? that seems to be easier right now."
no subject
Well, clearly that was one of the many things her bestie saw in him, right? Renee nodded to herself.
"So maybe you sit here and I'll get you a couple things to absorb all that booze, and you try to make the room stop spinning, 'kay?"
no subject
"I can't help but notice you're inexplicably lacking in company! We need to remedy that right away."
no subject
"It's a free...uh, I'd say country, but we're in the Void, so." It sort of lacked luster, but what could she do. "Help yourself?"
She thought she saw the dude on the train (actually on the train, yeah) while she was on the platform, but...it hadn't seemed like a good idea to bother him at the time.

"Did you get a whack on the head when the train lost gravity? You might want to get that looked at, y'know." As much as it was a snarky comment, it wasn't delivered with her usual biting acidity. She kind of felt bad for the guy--she wasn't actually asking if he were joking at her expense, at least.
Not that she really bought any of it. "Ninja clan, though? Aren't those mad, bad, and dangerous to know?"
no subject
"Only if you're a servant of evil, a monster, or an enemy of our people. We're as dangerous as they come if you are. If not, we're valuable friends and allies."
no subject
"Damn. I mean, a lot of people on my own world think I'm a monster, so I guess I lose this round. Can we not ruin the party, though? I mean every party needs a pooper, but I didn't want to be it, so..."
Renee wasn't usually the type to start brawls either--especially not in a place like this. But she didn't know this Edge dude from her elbow from a hole in the ground, so...

It was less 'playing hard to get' than skepticism and stubbornness. Dash of lack of interest and cynicism thrown in for flavor. "So what's your angle, then? That hard up in looking for a queen?" She hadn't missed the 'king' comment, and it didn't really strike her as a load of bullshit, to be honest. It sounded like the type of thing where he'd be trying harder, if he were.

Renee snorted a bit, then. "I suppose I could do worse, but I think Pete's got me beat there." But Pete had a girlfriend. Then again, he actually probably wanted that sort of thing, where Renee felt she was probably better off without.

Renee shrugged at that. "I mean, other than being a bit boring, here's about the same as anywhere else I've been. Though I'm kinda better off without my dad, regardless of where I am."
no subject
"So... we can conclude that the train can't be beaten up." That seemed like the right lesson to take away from this.

She shrugged, then. "I left finger marks on one of the grip bars in one of the passenger cars, though. But who knows? This train could be weird enough to heal itself." Stranger things have happened to her, after all.

"You deal with stuff like that often?"

She doesn't claim to be religious at all, but clearly, someone in Renee's family was. Or they were once, which probably means it was her missing mother.
"Not that it's a contest or anything, but it sounds like your world's almost more dangerous than mine."
