it's halloween, lo-ween, everybody!
Who: Everyone's Invited!
Where: Various decorated carriages!
When: Horseshoe 31.
What: Della is hosting a Halloween party! Come for treats, tricks, and trouble!
Warnings: N/A, will update it needed.
The room is dark…why aren’t the lights on? But as the doors fully open, a voice begins laughing darkly…
… although if you’ve ever heard the voice of Della Duck, you’ll recognize her immediately.
“Boys and girls of every age, wouldn’t you like to see something strange?”
Suddenly there’s a big THUD as someone drops from the ceiling, the lights flash on, and Della herself, dressed as a zombie – ripped apart clothes, fake blood here and there, drawn on scars - wiggles her fingers before laughing joyfully. “Happy Halloween, everybody! Let’s party!”
Tasty Treats
A big buffet table of candy and punch has been laid out! Mini chocolate bars and multi-colored lollipops, gummy worms and candy corn, all sorts of sweet and sour shenanigans, ghost-shaped cookies and mummy-looking muffins! There’s plenty to eat, with absolutely no healthy alternatives.
There are also small wrapped bags of candy with the letters “T.o.T” written on them. If someone tells you, “Trick or Treat!” you have to share your candy! Or keep it to yourself, you monster.
Haunted House
Thanks to Seto Kaiba’s projections, a neighboring carriage has been converted into a Haunted House! While it’s all a trick on the eyes, it gives the illusion that there are several floors of spookiness. Each floor has a different theme –
#1 Serial Seriousness – Every so often, a masked intruder pops out at you, with long claws or chainsaw, ready to give chase! Be careful, or you’ll be the next victim!
#2 Zombie Zaniness – Moans and groans of the undead can’t be unheard. Rotting arms will try to swipe at you through the floorboards!
#3 Ghostly Games – You can see through them, and they can see you too! Each mirror reflects a different dastardly demon!
#4 Deadly Doctors – In this hospital, it’s not the awful health insurance that’ll kill you! Beware the bloody nurses and their extra big needles!\
#5 Fishy Fears - … Wait, what? … Okay, this last floor was clearly designed by Della. It’s like Under the Sea, but with sharks and octopi and kraken - and Della insists this is the worst floor.
Feel free to have your characters braving the house, or trying to scare people within!
Dance Floor
If being haunted isn’t your thing, nothing wrong with getting your groove on! Ask DJ Della what kind of song you’d like to play, and she’s happy to put on the list, from a classic Monster Mash to something more somber and soulful for you slow-dancing-romantic-vampire-types.
Turnip Carving
… Look, they didn’t have pumpkins. Anyway, you’re encouraged to carve scary and silly faces in these veggies! There is a contest, but everyone will be a winner, from “Most Realistic” to “Most Depressing” !
Movie Mania
Kick back and relax – and be horrified – at the otherworldly horror films! Like the horrific monster mime, “That”, the relentless umpire-mask wearing killer, “Monday the 20th”, and the endless array of the undead, “Midmorning Of The Not Wholly Alive”!
Some of you awful people might be thinking of popping up and scaring the theater-goers and this is /winkwinknudgenudge/ totally not approved. /plausible deniability/
Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark
In one secluded, quiet, and verrry dark carriage, lit only by candles, here you are encouraged to tell the scariest stories you can think of! What eerie legends will you share from your world, or do you dare to make it up as you go along?
Make your own top-level, and happy haunting!
Also, if your character would like to dress up, costumes are available for this night only!

"They do be saying that on the nights when the moon do no be hiding away from the sky, that's when you do be seeing it." She grinned, "It do always be being on the horizon and it do be glowing, a faint blue that you can be seeing. People do be wanting to be seeing it, sailors do be jumping from the deck to be swimming to it but they do never be getting there before the sea do be claiming them."
no subject
"A strange blue light? What is it?"
no subject
"And they do no be seeing the sea monsters or the rocks that they do be running right into."
no subject
"Completely transfixed on that point and then they lose sense of everything around them."
no subject
She hadn't heard the word siren before but it sounded the same. "Nobody has ever been able to be reaching the ship but it do be being said that it did be being spotted before many big ship wrecks."
no subject
Senku wasn't scared, but he got how legends and myths worked to a point, and that was a pretty good one.
no subject
"I do no be knowing if it do be being true. I did no never be seeing a cursed ship, but I did no never be going to sea."
But she had grown up in a port city and that story was a favourite for sailors to tell young inn servers over breakfast.
no subject
"Would you like to hear how the sirens tricked sailors on the open sea?"
no subject
She was curious about what stories people might tell in other worlds.
no subject
"The rumour is that the sirens are women that could fly with big bird wings, sent by the goddess Demeter to find her daughter, but unable to do so, she condemned them to remain in the mortal world."
"Sometimes, you could pass by and nothing would happen, it would be an ordinary voyage. Other times though?" He paused dramatically. "Sometimes sailors would hear music. Really beautiful music, the most wonderful music they ever heard. Sailors would go mad then, they'd do anything to reach the origin point of that beautiful sound. Some would jump right off the deck into the ocean, disappearing into those depths never to be seen again."
Senku shook his head. "The rest of them, the Captain so entranced by the music would turn the ship towards the island, and end up shipwrecked. They say no one has ever heard that music and lived to tell the tale, and since no mortal has ever resisted the siren's song, to this very day you could attempt to pass by and meet your doom."
He may not have known actual horror stories, in the modern sense, but he he knew a ridiculous amount of mythology. He'd gone through a phase when he was younger.
no subject
Women with big bird wings sent by a goddess. Beautiful music that sent sailors mad. But it was just like the cursed ship, except a whole cursed island!
"Do the sirens only be being on that one island?"
no subject
"But for them to pick an island, it has to be surrounded by rough waters and rocks, they're a must, otherwise it's not dangerous to lure the sailors there. They lure people to their deaths because the story goes, if they should ever fail and someone should resist the siren's call, they would be the ones to die."
He looked pretty pleased with her reaction though. "The Greeks had a lot of stories like that."
no subject
"Who do the Greeks be being?"
He had said they owned those islands, so it was a country of islands perhaps.
no subject
"The Greeks are what they call people who live in the country Greece in my world, or did anyway." He explained. "They're one of the oldest civilizations on my planet and aside from providing a great many inventions, discoveries and concepts, they had a very rich religious tradition with a lot of gods and that came with a lot of myths and legends about them."
He hummed slightly. "Those stories all started being told thousands of years before I was born."
no subject
Questions tumble out before she can catch them, but she's interested.
no subject
"A lot of really important people lived in that time. People who discovered a lot of math and philosophy, founding cartography, which is how people draw maps, they started medicine and came up with democracy, which is a way of governing a country that in my world was pretty popular." Senku explained. "A lot of cool inventions came out of that time period too, things like water wheels and pulleys."
He hummed a moment. "At the time they lived, their world was pretty small. They were able to travel to the other islands that made up Greece, but their exposure to other cultures was at first, minimal. So their gods were just for them. Later, with contact with other people, things changed. You could say other gods ruled the rest of the world, because their world as far as they knew was their country."
Senku considered her question for a moment. "They say there's six thousand islands, but most of them don't have people on them, and some of them might be really small, so I'm not quite sure what metric they're using to say that." He had to shake his head. "No. I haven't been to Greece. I lived in a country called Japan, and I've been to America before, Norway, England and Australia. I also studied in Guinea in Africa for awhile. And I've been to Russia. In the modern time when I grew up, it was pretty easy to fly somewhere in an airplane."
no subject
Six thousand islands is a lot, even if some of them were really small. "Peter do be being from America." She told him, Tony had been too. She's heard of Japan as well but not the rest of the places.
"It do no be seeming easy, in the movies I did be watching with Peter airplane's do be always blowing up and crashing."
Seemed like people took their life into their hands just to go to other places. Ships sank but not as often as these airplanes did!
no subject
"It's rather strange that they do that, but it's only for dramatic purposes. Flying is actually very safe. It's hard to be in a collision in the air with radar. Radar is equipment they use to see the world around them." He could explain it further if necessary.
"It's much more dangerous to be in a car, really." He insited with a fond little smile.
"I've been to Cape Canaveral, in Florida. That's a state in America, where the Kennedy Space Centre is. And I visited the Johnson Space Centre in Texas." Senku said with a grin. "Now, space flight, that's the real dangerous way to travel."
no subject
She's not heard the word radar before but she understood, technology that made the airplanes see, because they didn't have eyes. She also knows what a car is, she's even seen cars, on the ice world. Did they not have radar?
"Space do be being pretty dangerous." She agreed, "Lots of things do be trying to be killing you there." She's been in space a couple of times and each time had been a new level of stupid.
no subject
He sighed a bit wistfully. "I definitely want to go to space."
no subject
"I do be thinking you will be being, if you do be being on this train for a while. But you might no get to be shooting yourself there with explosives."
no subject
"That's half the fun though." He grinned. "When I was your age, I was trying to make my own rocket to get up into space." Senku explained. "You have to be really good with technology and mechanics, as well as chemistry to pull that kind of thing off." He paused.
"Oh and be outside, with safety equipment. My dad was really insistent about not experimenting with things that could blow up in the house."
no subject
She told him with a grin, "Blowing up the house would be being stupid and chemistry do be blowing up really easy."
That's not even from movies, just from knowing Peter. He was always blowing things up by accident.
no subject
That was somehow a reasonable argument. Somewhere. Also, blowing things up wasn't the same as a fire which might've happened more than once.
It was kind of lucky they never had to move, that security deposit was never coming back to them.
no subject
"Did you be getting into a lot of trouble?"
