Wedding Day - Open Mingle
Who: WangJi, WuXian, and anyone who wants to come
Where: Dressing Car and Gym Car
When: Day 29
What: WuXian and WangJi get married again. Wedding and Reception
Warnings: Aside from gratuitous pdas from the newlyweds? Probably nothing. Let me know if something needs to be added
The day had quickly arrived after the date had been picked out. The dressing car was opened by the train, letting everyone who wished to attend go to pick out something formal to wear for the event, and very early in the morning, the gym had been decorated appropriately for the Chinese wedding ceremony, mostly in the color red with some gold mixed in. Near the door of the carriage was a banner with Chinese characters written on it, including the double happiness symbol.
For the ceremony itself, a low table was set out with a few items. The grooms entered, both WangJi and WuXian wearing red robes had been made by the resident spider, embroidered with gold designs of forest animals. WangJi's normally white forehead ribbon had even been replaced with a red and WuXian had a red veil. With their attendants there to assist, the wedding ceremony began.
As the pair approached the table, WuXian on one side and WangJi on the other, they alternated bowing to each other three times before kneeling. With the help of their attendants, they each drank a cup of tea, which they used their long sleeves as though hiding that they were doing so behind them. Once they had put the cups down, WangJi reached up, pushing the veil back so that he could see WuXian’s face before removing the forehead ribbon he’d been wearing. Taking WuXian’s hand, he used to make kind of a loose knot between their two wrists, a Gusu Lan symbol that WuXian was his fated partner. Then as they carefully stood, WangJi leaned in to kiss WuXian before they both bowed to their attendants, thanks for assisting them and being there for them.
Soon after the room was ready for the reception, the feast prepared for the couple and for their guests, which had been prepared by helpful volunteered, attempting to make as many traditional dishes as they could with the offerings that the train had.
As the wedding couple, they were rather happily seated together of course. WangJi had since replaced the forehead ribbon on his head, but the question would be how long it stayed there.

He hummed and found a belt he thought would go with Senku’s outfit. “Here, this would fit well, I think? And all of these are pretty long, we can probably hide the fact we aren’t wearing shoes, don’t you think?”
no subject
He was as picky about that as probably Gen was. "What do you want to wear?"
no subject
He hummed as he looked through the selections. "Something pretty, I think, most everything we have is so utilitarian. And it's a special occasion! I doubt I'll find any sleeves with nightshade designs, sadly."
no subject
He was browsing a bit, looking for things in bright colours for Gen, because Gen preferred that sort of thing. "What colour do you want?"
no subject
Gen tilted his head, "Well, I wouldn't want to clash with you, my dearest, since we're going together. I might ignore shoes, but I won't fail to color-coordinate with my date. So, probably something blue, I'd think ..."
Though he kept getting distracted by more vibrant pieces. Some of these had sequins! Pretty tasteless, but they were still shiny and distracting. But Gen wouldn't wear sequins to a wedding, thank you.
no subject
"Something with long sleeves for you, obviously."
no subject
Gen found a whole line of pretty kimonos with flowers, and he was just going to take a moment to look at all of the patterns. "These are gorgeous."
no subject
"Is there a blue one that would match what I'm wearing?"
no subject
Gen found a robe with dark blue sleeves, but light blue flowers all over, and blue and white ruffly under-robes, and he pulled it out to hold up to him. "Oh, Senku-chan. I think this would match well enough? I could've even worn this on stage, once upon a time, if we were doing anything with a New Year's theme, don't you think?"
He's mostly just thinking aloud. "Oooh, now I'm kind of sad this will all disappear after the wedding."
no subject
"I think if you wanted something like that to keep, you'd have to ask the spider, remember? I don't know what she'd want for something like that...well we were thinking about making cookies, weren't we?"
no subject
He started looking around for a belt, quickly found one with blue ruffles. Why not. "Now I'm wondering if I should fix up my hair ..."
no subject
"But if you want to put mine up for me, you can."
no subject
He grinned. "Do you think there's rope anywhere here in the carriage?"
no subject
"I have some rope. It's silk, even, if that makes it seem more fancy." He snickered. Did they have such a rule? Probably not.
no subject
He tilted his head a little as he looked at Senku's unruly white hair. "Yes, I can pull back your hair in the Ishigami village style, I think."
no subject
Senku stopped a moment, just looking at Gen and then he turned away to wander over to the accessories. They did, indeed, have various hair clips, although several had tiny flowers on them.
"I'd pick one with meaning, but I don't know your silly flower meanings, so you're gonna have to help me here."
no subject
He reached over, and picked up a couple of blue rose clips, tiny little ones. "Blue roses - as you'd imagine - represent obtaining what seems impossible. Among other things, of course, Senku-chan. That seems like you."
no subject
"But if you're not going to help me..."
The pair of clips he chose weren't coloured, just silver, and they were small bars with lotuses on the end of them and he held them out for Gen's approval.
no subject
Shiny, and pretty. His pleased blush was still there even when he teased, "Though I don't think purity fits me well, rebirth is kind of a theme for all of us, in the stone world, isn't it?"
He took the clips. "Thank you, my dearest."
no subject
"But that's what you get because you wouldn't help me!" He teased with a a wide grin.
"Alright, let's get dressed..." He glanced around and shrugged, not seeing anyone, he made to pull his shirt over his head.
no subject
As Senku started to undress, Gen took a step back so he could look toward the carriage entrance. "I'll make sure nobody wanders in and gets an eyeful - people of different eras and realities are likely going to vary on how touchy they are about people disrobing."
no subject
"Pretty sure the apocalypse killed all of our modesty." He snorted lightly. It just wasn't important.
Notably, he still knew how to get into formal clothes, although this was much better than wearing a suit, which was often what Yuzuriha made when they wanted to do something with some kind of formality.
no subject
Gen winked, knowing he had nothing to be worried about. He wasn't concerned that Senku's feelings for him would change, not at this point. Or perhaps most relevant here, he didn't think that Senku would suddenly gain an interest in others that way.
no subject
It was just about long enough to hide the fact he didn't have shoes on, but he didn't think anyone was going to look anyway. He pulled the haori on and then went over to prod at Gen.
"You have to get changed too, if you want a lookout fine."
no subject
And he nodded to the idea of a lookout. "I think there's enough going on, my dear, that we don't want to avoid someone becoming silly over me 'flashing' them on accident."
