Party Time

Who: Everyone who wants to attend.
What: It's a party for all, but the pairing up part is for singles only.
When: Day 19 of Fiddlesticks
Where: Gym Carriage
Warnings: Who knows atm just Minako being Minako will add more as things happen.

[Minako figured she did the best she could for the party. Though she also wondered if perhaps she might not have that many people come. Sure she wanted to put singles together, but at the same time, she simply wanted people to have fun.

In the dressing carriage, people will find costumes and masks that were more gothic in nature. There was food and hopefully some forms of sweet treats for those looking for it as well as a variety of drink, mostly non-alcoholic.]

[Minako had made a lot of simples foods, however, those that actually required her to cook things look burnt or raw or a combo of both somehow.

Maybe avoid those.

Beside the food is a variety of drinks for everyone to have.]

Organizing a party like this must have been hard for her, but.. I'm really grateful she did it. Now the two of us are at a party together!

[ She's not much for fancy outfits, so Della went simple, and her mask is mostly hanging to the side of her head. Anyways - Being stuck on the moon for 10+ years, Della has thoroughly abandoned all pickiness and is willing to eat anything.

Seriously, she is eating those awful burnt/raw bits without any hesitation. ]

[ Kaiba is staring at the plate, baffled. He thought about touching it, but soon thought again. He's wearing a simple naval style suit and simple mask to match.]

[ Kitty, meanwhile, is being a bit more hesitant, poking at some of the questionable bits with a utensil. ]

[ Aziraphale is still trying to get these dishes the benefit of the doubt, but it's getting increasingly difficult. ]

Hm. Yes, quite. Perhaps a little more time in the oven, as well.

[ Someone also completely ignored the memo on gothic style and went with something a bit brighter. ]

Alice had never been to an adult party, she had only ever been to a few, and what few she had been to were silly and mad. But she had found a very pretty black dress that fit her perfectly, with shoes to match. However, she couldn't find a mask that fit, all of them meant for older, bigger faces.

She gazed over the selection of food, taking a cupcake here, a couple of chocolate-covered strawberries, and whatever else tickled her fancy. She didn't know what they were celebrating, but Alice wasn't complaining.

However, Alice also wasn't entirely paying attention as she reached out for a petit four only for her hand to bump into someone else's. "Oh, ah I beg your pardon," she pulled her hand back.

Della pulled back, all smiles. "Hey, go for it, kiddo." She wasn't much for dresses or masquerades, so she went in a slightly different direction. Her own mask was hanging lopsided on the side of her head.

"There's plenty for everyone, I can grab something else. I'll eat anything." And she will.

Kitty pulled her hand back as well, glancing down at the girl and recognizing her from a few days ago.

"No, that's okay," she said with a smile. Then using a napkin, she picked up the confectionery and held it out to the young girl. "Here."

Elegantly dressed in the following outfit: Rose Gold suit Gold Mask And with his hair done up in a fancy new braid: Braid for Mixer But in yellow Glorfindel did not feel he was being particularly hard to identify. But the young lady he'd just bumped into was not someone he'd met face to face yet.

"Please, by all means, my lady. I was reaching for the one next to it."

He hadn't been going for the same thing as the small girl, but something just past it. Still their hands bumped and Maru, not deterred in the slightest, went and grabbed the sandwich beyond the petit fours.

"Hm?" He tilted his head to look down at the girl, then back to what he was doing, and held out the sandwich. "Did you want this?" His mask made it harder to see the girl so he lifted a hand to push it up his face a little.

"Oh- that's quite alright. Do go ahead." Aziraphale responded in a gentle tone, politely moving out of the way.

He sports brighter colors than what were suggested for the party, but he at least seems to keep mostly in theme.

[ Mami returns about an hour late, with a few plates of simple things to replace what was burnt. Lightly toasted sandwiches, a few scones, and a few quick cookies. She's all smiles in her gown with a simple black eye mask. ]

Here. I hope you're all still hungry after your dancing.

Persephone embraced the gothic in a way she usually really doesn't. She's laced into a black gown and a red mask. Her hair is left long and wavy, half pulled back and twined with vines and deep red roses. She feels a lot like a relic of old Olympus, Ridiculous costume. But fun!

She pokes at the food with an uneasy look, but in the interest of politeness, she find something that looks like cheese on crackers and holds it up uncertainly.

"Do you know what sort of cheese this is?" She asks whoever is near her, half under her breath. Gosh she hopes this is cheese.

Okay, so this train continues to be utterly bizarre, and Elena continues to feel completely out of her depth. Because of this, she's mostly stuck close to Reno, relying on his previous experience to help smooth her transition into life here.

She decides that the party (put on by a teenager) is a good place to do a little recon. She finds a killer black ballgown and heels, plus a matching mask, and decides to hang out near the snack table, watching the others as they enter the room.

This train can't be all bad, she reasons, eyeing the rather sad excuse for homemade snacks on the table. At least there seem to be opportunities to get out of those horrible cargo shorts.

[Lea had paused at the bathroom mirror to check his hair before heading to the party. Not that it looked any less wild and spiky than it usually did, but he liked it spiky in a particular way. Hair to his liking, he'd headed to the gym carriage, already humming along with the music he could hear filtering out from behind its door.

When he opened the door however...]

The heck...?!

[No, it wasn't the sorry state of the refreshments that shocked him. Guess who hadn't been informed that it was a costume party and had just showed up in his normal train clothes?]

It had taken Gladio a while to get himself ready. A long while picking through the items in the changing room to find something he liked. And what he found had him laughing, if only to himself. What he found was a jacket that resembled his Cownsguard one from home. He paired it with a pair of black leather boots and black leather pants, and a simple black mask and he was done.

When he left to go join the party... he was just a little disappointed to find the music was the same as the last party he went to. Meaning no dancing for him.

Instead he went to grab a drink. A mildly alcoholic drink, then he propped himself against a wall and smiled, watching everyone enjoying themselves.

Maru had been told he had to dress up. He only wanted snacks...

The changing room was busy and crowded, so he was quick to grab something. A black hoodie type of thing and a pair of black pants that were shinier than he would have liked. He grabbed boots and a mask and stuck out to a bathroom to put them all on.

It was weird.

The cat mask was kind of funny though.

Now he could get snacks.

He found himself a little corner of the gym and sat down with a selection of snacks around him.

[ Bryn's not a particularly traditional girl, so when she shows up to the part it's... well, her outfit is in keeping with the spirit of the dress code if not the letter, exactly. The rose growing out of her eye makes an actual mask a bit of a difficult fit, but she's managed to find a half face mask that she seems particularly gleeful about, for some reason.

And of course, when she gets here, she immediately makes a beeline for the food. Because why else would Bryn be at a party? She'll be hovering at the food table more or less her entire time here, munching away at all the food, but... well, even Bryn ends up balking at the charred remains of Minako's cooking. ]

Is... that supposed to be so burned?

[ Ouch.

Aside from food, she's also knocking back her share of drinks and holding her liquor surprisingly well considering her size. She doesn't seem to get more than mildly buzzed and even then only really occupies herself with clapping along to the dancing. This music isn't really her scene, so she'll wallflower a bit for once in her life. ]

Usually there's no way Alice would have gone to this party. It's so not her kind of thing. But Xander has really been trying for her sake, so the least she can do in return for him is to at least attempt to attend a dumb little party. Surely she can do that much, right? She's faced huge monsters, how bad could one social situation be?

.. Bad. The answer is bad. Alice kind of regrets coming the moment she's there, and she awkwardly hovers at Xander's side in her black dress, like straying too far away from him might just force her into having to have actual social contact with someone else. Imagine the horror.

"I must look ridiculous," she whispers to him. And no, she doesn't mean the dress, more just.. the way she feels like she doesn't fit in here at all. Alice is so far out of her element.

This is so awkward. Alice isn't a party person, though she's blending in on the outside perfectly fine with her gothic dress aesthetic. The moment Xander is turned away, talking to someone else, she just awkwardly hovers near the food table, not even daring to go anywhere near the dance floor. All the people and the music - it's just too much. She's too antisocial for this, but at the same time she told herself she was at least going to attempt this for Xander's sake, so it's not like she can just run out of the party.

So Alice does the next best thing. She grabs one of the drinks, nervously starting to drink. Starting to drink way too quickly too, and that combined with the nerves gives her the hiccups the moments she puts the empty glass down on the table.

But if you happen to look her way right at that moment, you may see Alice.. and then suddenly not anymore. It's as if she completely disappeared on the spot. You might want to go check that out? Perhaps slightly concerning?

[ Curufin shows up in a dark red satin suit and a top hat, to which costume he adds a black lace mask. His black hair is done in a shower of braids, and he has a big smile on his face. He's also carrying a couple of trays of sandwiches and other party food that he prepared in the kitchen before he changed into his party clothes.]

I heard you might need some more refreshments? Where shall I put them?

[ Once these are placed on the food tables, he is free to talk, drink, sample the food, and later to dance. ]

The last time Sam had dressed up at all was when he'd had his photo taken with Bridget and Lucy. That had been a long, long time ago. He wouldn't have shown up at all if not for the fact that he'd been talked into it.

Or, more accurately, dragged into the gym carriage.

But at least he's dressed up even if he doesn't have a mask on him. Considering most people do, and this is a masquerade party it's probably worth asking him about.

He picks out a handful of things that look like they're not too undercooked; burnt food doesn't bother him much. "Not bad," Sam says after a few bites. He honestly doesn't seem to be lying, either.

What the hell has he been eating that burnt food doesn't bother him?

At least he's... attempting to mingle, as stilted and awkward as it is. "I'm surprised we get downtime around here." That is probably the most awkward hello of all time, but there was an attempt.
